wise and remove it.

Add coolant as required.
Replace and tighten cap1.

The windshield washer reservoir is located
in the engine compartment.

Fluid for the windshield washer system and
the headlamp cleaning system* is supplied
from the windshield washer reservoir. It
has a capacity of 8.1 US qt (7.7 l).During all seasons, add MB Windshield
Washer Concentrate “MB SummerFit” to
water. Premix the windshield washer fluid
in a suitable container.

Washer solvent/antifreeze is highly flamma-
ble. Do not spill washer solvent/antifreeze
on hot engine parts, because it may ignite
and burn. You could be seriously burned.

lapsed.

a result, the vehicle handling characteristics
change when driving with a Minispare wheel

The Minispare wheel is for temporary use
only. When driving with a Minispare wheel
mounted, ensure proper tire inflation
pressure and do not exceed a vehicle speed
of 50 mph (80 km/h).
Drive to the nearest Mercedes-Benz Light
Truck Center as soon as possible to have the
Minispare wheel replaced with a regular
road wheel.
Never operate the vehicle with more than
one spare wheel mounted.
Do not switch off the ESP
® when a
Minispare wheel is mounted.

If you cannot unlock the vehicle with the
SmartKey or KEYLESS-GO*, open the driv-

Unlocking the driver’s door with the
mechanical key will trigger the anti-theft alarm
system.
To cancel the alarm:

SmartKey.
Insert the SmartKey in the starter switch.
Vehicles with KEYLESS-GO*:
Grasp an outside door handle.
The SmartKey with KEYLESS-GO must be
within 3 ft (1 m) of the vehicle.

Open the tailgate (
page 119).
The fuel filler flap release is located behind
a cover in the right side trim panel of the
cargo compartment.

head clearance.

If the vehicle has previously been locked
from the outside using the SmartKey or
SmartKey with KEYLESS-GO*, opening the tail-
gate from the inside will trigger the anti-theft
alarm system.

Remove the SmartKey from the starter

Turn off the engine by pressing the
KEYLESS-GO* start/stop button
(page 67).
Open the driver’s door (this puts
the starter switch in position 0, same
as with the SmartKey removed from
the starter switch). The driver’s door
can then be closed again.
Press on cover1 at the position indi-
cated by the arrow.
Take off cover1.

Do not remove the low beam/high beam
cover for the Bi-Xenon* headlamp. Because
of high voltage in Xenon* lamps, it is danger-
ous to replace the bulb or repair the lamp
and its components. We recommend that
you have such work done by a qualified
technician.
