Rear Seat Entertainment (RSE) operation*
A DVD is loaded in the RSE CD/DVD player
and it is switched on.
Loading a CD (
page 93).
Switching on (
page 92).
Set the L/R monitor switch on the
remote to the side you wish to control.
Press on the remote.
Playback begins.
Displaying the soft keys during
playback
Turn or press the thumb wheel.
The soft keys and the status bar are
displayed.1DVD mode

S:1 - Scene/chapter 1 is played back

To remove the soft key display
The soft keys and the status bar disappear

Pause or Play soft key:
Switches the Pause function on or off.
Stop soft key:
Stops the DVD playback and displays a
menu (
page 103).
Full scn. soft key:
The soft key display disappears.
Menu soft key:
Displays the menu on the DVD, if avai-
lable.
Setting soft key:
Displays the Setting menu

page 104).

tions are available at any time.

Set the L/R monitor switch on the

Press or on the remote.
If an external video source is not
connected the AUX menu appears. You
can set bass and treble for the AUX
operation (
page 112).
AUX menu
If an external video source is connec-
ted (
page 95) and switched to play-
back the AUX menu will only appear
briefly.
Playback begins automatically.
If the external video source is
disconnected during playback the
system switches back to the AUX
menu.

Rear Seat Entertainment (RSE) operation*
The remote control is operated with two
batteries type AAA 1.5 V. If you press any
button on the remote and the LED does not
light or is red in color, discharged batteries
are most likely the cause.
Remove the cover h of the battery
compartment f on the back of the
remote control.
Press the retainer clip g in the
direction of the arrow and remove
the cover h.
Remove batteries k.
Insert the new batteries. Please make
sure you insert the batteries in the
correct polarity direction (+/-).
Left battery:
Plus (+) must point upward.
Right battery:
Plus (+) must point downward.
Insert the cover h with the location
lugs j into the battery compartment
f and then snap the retainer clip g
into the compartment.
Replacing remote batteries

Keep batteries out of the reach of children.
Immediately seek medical help if a child
swallows a battery. Batteries are not to be
short-circuited, dismantled or thrown into
fire.
Environmental NoteH
Batteries contain materials that can harm
the environment if disposed of improperly.
Recycling of batteries is the preferred
method of disposal. Many states require
sellers of batteries to accept old batteries
for recycling.
