8ANTI-THEFT ALARM SYSTEM
B070B01O-DAT Armed Stage Park the car and stop the engine. Arm the system as described below. 1) Remove the ignition key from the
ignition switch.
2) Make sure that the engine bonnet, doors and tail gate are closed.
3) Lock the doors using the transmitter
of the keyless entry system.
After completion of the steps above, the turn signal lights will blink once toindicate that the system is armed. NOTE:
1) If any door, the tail gate or bonnet remains open, the system will not be armed.
2) If this happens, rearm the system
as described above.
CAUTION:
Do not arm the system until all pas-sengers have left the car. If the sys-tem is armed whilst a passenger(s) remains in the car, the alarm may be activated when the remainingpassenger(s) leaves the car.
!
o When the door is unlocked, the
red mark on the switch is visible and the character "LOCK" on the switch is visible.
o The central door locking is oper-
ated by turning the key (with theft-alarm system: driver's door and passenger's door, without theft-alarm system: driver's door only) toward the front or rear of the vehicle.
o If the door is locked/unlocked mul- tiple times in rapid successionwith either the vehicle key or doorlock switch, the system may stop operating temporarily in order to protect the circuit and preventdamage to system components.
B040H02L-EAT Speed Sensing Auto Door Locking (Not all models) When the speed of the vehicle keeps above 40KM/H for 2-3 seconds, it willautomatically lock all doors for driver and passenger's safety. But, the ignition key is removed, it willautomatically unlock all doors. B070A01A-EAT (Not all models) This system is designed to provide protection from unauthorised entry intothe car. This system is operated in three stages: the first is the "Armed" stage, the second is the "Alarm" stage, and the third is the "Disarmed" stage. If triggered, the system provides an au- dible alarm with blinking of the turnsignal lights.

The SRS service reminder indicator (SRI) comes on and flashes for approxi-mately 6 seconds after the ignition key is turned to the "ON" position or after the engine is started, after which it willgo out. This light also comes on when the SRS is not working properly. If the SRI does not come on, or continu- ously remains on after flashing for about6 seconds when you turned the ignition key to the "ON" position or started the engine, or if it comes on whilst driving, have the SRS inspected by an Hyundai authorised repairer.
B260U01TB-EAT Immobiliser Indicator Light
This indicator light comes on for some seconds after the ignition key is turnedto the "ON" position. At this time, you can start the engine. The light goes out after the engine is running. In case thislight goes out before you start the en- gine, you must turn to the "LOCK" position and restart the engine. In casethis light blinks for five seconds when the ignition key is turned to "ON" posi- tion, this indicates that the immobilisersystem is out of order.
SB210G1-E Turn Signal Indicator Light
Operation of a turn signal is indicated by the warning light located in the in-strument cluster. If the light fails to illuminate or does not flash, a malfunc- tion within the turn signal system isindicated.
B260C02E-EATTraction Control Indicator Light(Not all models)
The traction control indicator changes operation according to the ignition switch position and whether or not the system is in operation.
B265C01LZ-EAT Electronic Stability Program Indicator Lights(Not all models)
The electronic stability program indica- tors change operation according to theignition switch position and whether the system is in operation or not. They will illuminate when the ignitionkey is turned to the "ON" position, but should go out after three seconds. If the ESP or ESP-OFF indicator stays on,take your car to your Hyundai authorised repairer and have the system checked. See section 2 for more informationabout the ESP.

CAUTION:
If the drive belt (generator belt) is loose, broken, or missing whilst thevehicle is driving, there may be a serious malfunction, engine could overheat because this belt also drivesthe water pump.! SB210P1-E
Low Fuel Level Warning Light
The low fuel warning light serves to warn the driver that the remaining fuelquantity is approximately 9 litres and that the vehicle should be refuelled. If the vehicle is driven for an extendedperiod with the low fuel warning light illuminated there exists a possibility that misfiring due to fuel shortage mayoccur. This situation must be avoided to prevent damage to the catalyst oc- curring.
SB210M1-E Charging System Warning Light
The charging system warning light should illuminate when the ignitionswitch is turned to the "ON" position and should be extinguished when the engine is started. If the light fails toilluminate when the ignition is turned "ON" or fails to extinguish after starting the engine, the nearest Hyundaiauthorised repairer should be contacted. If the light illuminates whilst the vehicle is being driven, stop the vehicle assoon as it is safe to do so and check the condition of the alternator drive belt. If the belt is in place and the tension issatisfactory, the advice of a Hyundai authorised repairer should be sought.
SB210J1-E High Beam Indicator Light
The high beam indicator light will illumi- nate whenever the headlights are switched to high beam of flash position.

Under normal circumstances, the light will illuminate when the ignition is turned"on" and will be extinguished when the engine is started. If the oil pressure warning light illumi-nates whilst the engine is running, stop the engine immediately and check the engine oil level. If the level is insuffi-cient, add the required amount of oil as indicated by the engine oil dipstick. If the light fails to extinguish when theengine is restarted, do not continue to operate the vehicle. If the oil pressure light illuminates dur-ing normal operation and the cause is not an insufficient oil level, or the light fails to illuminate when the ignition isturned "on", contact the nearest Hyundai authorised repairer before further oper- ating the vehicle. Malfunction Indicator
Light
This light illuminates when there is amalfunction of an exhaust gas relatedcomponent, and the system is not func- tioning properly so that the exhaust gas regulation values are not satisfied. Thislight will illuminate when the ignition key is tuned to the "ON" position, and then it will go out after the engine start. If itilluminates whilst driving, or does not illuminate when the ignition key is turned to the "ON" position, take your car toyour nearest Hyundai authorised re- pairer and have the system checked.

If this occurs, have your vehicle checked by your Hyundai authorised repairer as soon as possible. The nor- mal braking system will still be opera- tional, but without the assistance of the anti-lock brake system.
CAUTION:
If the both ABS SRI and Parking Brake/Brake fluid level warning lights re- main "ON" or come on whilst driving, there may be a problem with E.B.D.
(Electronic Brake Force Distribution). If this occurs, avoid sudden stopsand have your vehicle checked by your Hyundai authorised repairer as soon as possible.

SB210S1-E BRAKE PAD WEAR INDICATOR The front brake disc pads are fitted with an audible wear indicator which will cause a high pitched noise to be emit-ted when the remaining amount of fric- tion lining is below the specified value. When the wear indicator is heard, thebrake pads should be replaced without delay to avoid damage occurring to the brake discs and a severe reduction inbraking efficiency. B950A01E-EAT REAR FOG AUDIBLE WARNING SOUND The rear fog audible warning chime sounds when the rear fog lights are onand the door in driver side is open.
The engine coolant temperature gaugeindicates the engine coolant tempera-ture and will, under normal circum- stances, give an indication in the "Nor- mal" or centre portion of the scale.Should the indication move into the
upper or "HOT" portion of the scale, engine overheating is indicated. Underthese circumstances, the vehicle should be brought to rest as soon as is safe to do so and the engine turned off. Oncethe engine has cooled somewhat, the coolant level and the condition of the generator/water pump drive belt shouldbe checked.
