You can adjust the height of the shoul-der belt anchor to one of the 4 positionsfor maximum comfort and safety. If the height of the adjusting seat belt is too near your neck, you will not begetting the most effective protection. The shoulder portion should be ad- justed so that it lies across your chestand midway over your shoulder nearest the door and not your neck. To adjust the height of the seat beltanchor, lower or raise the height ad- juster into an appropriate position. To raise the height adjuster, pull it up. Tolower it, push it down while pressing the height adjuster button. Release the button to lock the anchor into position. Try sliding the height ad-juster to make sure that it has locked into the position.B180A02A-GAT SEAT BELTS-Driver's and Passenger's 3-Point System withWebbing Clamp Locking Retrac-tor (If Installed)To Fasten Your Belt To fasten your seat belt, pull it out of the retractor and insert the metal tab intothe buckle. o Never try to operate the main switch on the driver's door and theindividual door window switch in opposing directions at the sametime. If this is done, the window will stop and cannot be opened or closed.

WARNING:
Front seat adjustments must not be undertaken whilst the vehicle is in motion. Loss of control of the ve-hicle may result if seat adjustments are made whilst the vehicle is in motion.
NOTE: The power windows can be operated for 30 seconds after the ignition key is turned to the "ACC" or "LOCK" positions, or removed from the igni- tion switch. If the front doors are opened during this 30 second period, the power windows can no longer be operated without the ignition key turned to the "ON" position. HGK2016-E

B080B03FC-EAT FRONT SEATS Seat Rake Adjustment The front seat rake adjustment is per- formed by raising the lever at the front of the seat base and sliding the seat tothe desired position. At this position the lever should be released and the seat rocked to and fro to ensure thatthe mechanism has locked.

The front seat back recline angle may be adjusted by leaning forward slightlyand raising the recline adjustment le- ver at the side of the seat. When the seatback is at the desired angle, thelever should be released. Ensure that the seatback is locked before driving the vehicle.

B180A01A-EAT SEAT BELTS (3-Point Type) To Fasten The Seat Belt The seat belts are fastened by pulling the belt buckle towards the seat belt stalk and inserting the metal tongue ofthe buckle into the stalk. NOTE: When pulling the seat belt buckle towards the fastening position make sure the webbing is not twisted. B180A01NF-E

To adjust the height of the seat belt anchor, lower or raise the height ad-juster into an appropriate position. To raise the height adjuster, pull it up. To lower it, push it down whilst pressingthe height adjuster button. Release the button to lock the anchor into position. Try sliding the heightadjuster to make sure that it has locked into the position.
WARNING:
o The height adjuster must be in the locked position when the vehicle is moving.
o The misadjustment of height of the shoulder belt could reducethe effectiveness of the seat beltin a crash. The buckle should be firmly pressedinto the stalk until locked which will beindicated by an audible "click". The length of the seat belt webbing will be automatically adjusted by the seatbelt mechanism to allow the wearer maximum freedom of movement whilst the belt is being worn. However, in theevent of rapid deceleration or impact, the belt mechanism will automatically lock.The mechanism will also lock if the seat belt webbing is withdrawn too quickly when the belt is being fastenedor if attempts are made to withdraw the webbing whilst the vehicle is not on level ground. Should the seat belt lockunder these conditions, it will be pos- sible to release the mechanism by allowing a small amount of webbing tobe retracted and the belt withdrawn again.

4. Turn the ignition key to the "START" position and release it when the en- gine starts. SC060B1-E The following suggestions are made to assist in achieving the greatest degree of fuel economy.
o Maintaining a constant check on fuel
consumption will enable the most economical use pattern and drivingstyle to be adopted.
o Avoid using the vehicle for very short journeys if possible, particularly whena cold start is involved.
o Ensure that tyre pressures are main- tained at the correct level.
o Use only the recommended grade of
fuel.
o Avoid carrying unnecessary weight, and if a roof rack is in use, remove itas soon as possible after use.
o Anticipate the road and conditions ahead to enable adjustments in speedto be made smoothly. Avoid heavyacceleration and sharp braking.
o Avoid cruising at unnecessary high speeds.
o Always ensure that the periodic main- tenance services are performed by aHyundai authorised repairer at the
time and/or mileage intervals speci-fied.
o Use the air conditioning only when necessary.

C050B01A-EAT Normal Conditions The Starting Procedure:
1. Insert key, and fasten the seat belt.
2. Depress the clutch pedal fully and
place the gearshift lever (manual transaxle) in neutral or the selector lever (automatic transaxle) in "P" (park) position.
3. After turning the ignition key to the "ON" position, make certain all warn-ing lights and gauges are function-ing properly before starting the en- gine.
WARNING:
Be sure that the clutch is fully de- pressed when starting a manual transaxle vehicle. This will prevent sudden movement should the ve-hicle be started in gear without the clutch depressed. Otherwise there is the potential tocause damage to the vehicle or in- jury to a person inside or outside of the vehicle as a result of this suddenvehicle movement.
