DIC Warnings and Messages
Messages are displayed on the DIC to notify the

and that some action may be needed by the driver
to correct the condition. Multiple messages may
appear one after another.
Some messages may not require immediate
action, but you can press any of the DIC buttons
on the instrument panel or the trip odometer
reset stem on the instrument panel cluster
to acknowledge that you received the messages
and to clear them from the display.
Some messages cannot be cleared from the DIC
display because they are more urgent. These
messages require action before they can be
cleared. You should take any messages that
appear on the display seriously and remember
that clearing the messages will only make
the messages disappear, not correct the problem.
The following are the possible messages that can
be displayed and some information about them.
252
CHANGE ENGINE OIL SOON
This message will display when the engine oil
needs to be changed. When you change the
engine oil, be sure to reset the CHANGE ENGINE
OIL SOON message. SeeEngine Oil Life
System on page 435for information on how to
reset the message. This message will clear itself
after 10 seconds until the next ignition cycle
or until the message is reset. SeeEngine Oil
on page 432andScheduled Maintenance
on page 551for more information.
CHECK TIRE PRESSURE
If your vehicle has a Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM)
system, this message will display when the
pressure in one or more of the vehicle’s tires need
to be checked. This message will also display
LEFT FRONT, RIGHT FRONT, LEFT REAR, or
RIGHT REAR to indicate which tire needs to
be checked. You can receive more than one tire
pressure message at a time. To read the other
messages that may have been sent at the same
time, press the set/reset button or the trip
odometer reset stem.If a tire pressure message appears on the DIC,
stop as soon as you can. Have the tire pressures
checked and set to those shown on your Tire
Loading Information Label. SeeTires on page 480,
Loading Your Vehicle on page 392, and
In ation - Tire Pressure on page 488. The DIC
display also shows the tire pressure values for the
front and rear tires by pressing the vehicle
information button. See “DIC Operation and
Displays (Using DIC Buttons)” earlier in this
section. If the tire pressure is low, the low tire
pressure warning
light will come on. SeeTire Pressure Light on
page 236.DRIVER DOOR OPEN
If the driver’s door is not fully closed and the
vehicle is in a drive gear, this message will display
and a chime will sound. Stop and turn off the
vehicle, check the door for obstructions, and close
the door again. Check to see if the message
still appears on the DIC.

Notice:If you drive your vehicle while
the engine oil pressure is low, severe engine
damage may occur. If a low oil pressure
warning appears on the Driver Information
Center (DIC), stop the vehicle as soon as
possible. Do not drive the vehicle until the
cause of the low oil pressure is corrected. See
Engine Oil on page 432for more information.
If low oil pressure levels occur, this message
will display. Stop the vehicle as soon as safely
possible and do not operate it until the cause
of the low oil pressure has been corrected. Check
your oil as soon as possible and have your
vehicle serviced by your dealer. SeeEngine Oil on
page 432.

vehicle is in a drive gear, this message will
display and a chime will sound. Stop and turn off
the vehicle, check the door for obstructions,
and close the door again. Check to see if the
message still appears on the DIC.

chime will sound. Turn off the vehicle and check
the liftgate and liftglass. Restart the vehicle
and check for the message on the DIC display.
REMOTE KEY LEARNING ACTIVE
This message will display while you are matching
a remote keyless entry transmitter to your
vehicle. See “Matching Transmitter(s) to Your
Vehicle” underRemote Keyless Entry System

When a low tire pressure condition is detected,
the TPMS will illuminate the low tire pressure
warning symbol located on the instrument panel
cluster. If your vehicle has the DIC feature, a
message to check the pressure in a speci c tire
will also appear on the DIC display. The low
tire pressure warning symbol on the instrument
panel cluster and the CHECK TIRE PRESSURE
warning message on the DIC display will appear at
each ignition cycle until the tires are in ated to
the correct in ation pressure. For additional
information and details about the DIC operation
and displays seeDIC Operation and Displays
(Using DIC Buttons) on page 245orDIC Operation

on page 252.
You may notice, during cooler weather conditions,
that the tire pressure monitor light, located on
the instrument panel cluster, and the CHECK TIRE
PRESSURE message will appear when the
vehicle is rst started and then turn off as you
start to drive the vehicle. This could be an early
indicator that the tire pressures are getting low and
need to be in ated to the proper pressure. Each tire, including the spare (if provided), should
be checked monthly when cold and in ated to
the in ation pressure recommended by the vehicle
manufacturer on the vehicle placard or tire
in ation pressure label. (If your vehicle has tires of
a different size than the size indicated on the
vehicle placard or tire in ation pressure label, you
should determine the proper tire in ation
pressure for those tires.)
As an added safety
feature, your vehicle
has been equipped with
a tire pressure
monitoring system
(TPMS) that illuminates
a low tire pressure
telltale when one
or more of your tires is
signi cantly
under-in ated.
