NOTE: If any door,
tailgate door or engine
bonnet is not opened within 30 sec- onds, the system will be rearmedand all doors re-locked.
CAUTION:
Only the transmitter can disarm thearmed stage. If the transmitter doesnot disarm the system, it is neces- sary to take the following steps;
1. Unlock the door with the key, which will cause, the alarm to be acti- vated.
2. Insert the key in the ignition key cylinder and turn the ignition keyto "ON" position.

1. Close all doors.
2. Push the "LOCK" button on the trans-
mitter.
3. At the same time, all doors lock and the turn signal lights will blink once to indicate that the system is armed.
Unlocking doors
1. Push the "UNLOCK" button on the transmitter.
2. At the same time, all doors unlock and the turn signal lights will blink twice to indicate that the system isdisarmed.
NOTE: The transmitter will not work if any of following occur:
- The ignition key is in ignition switch.
- You exceed the operating distance limit (10 m). - The battery in the transmitter is
weak.
- Other vehicles or objects may be blocking the signal.
- The weather is extremely cold.
- The transmitter is close to a radio transmitter such as a radio stationor an airport which can interferewith normal operation of the trans- mitter.
When the transmitter does not work correctly, open and close the door with the ignition key. If you have a problem with the transmitter, con-tact an authorised Hyundai repairer. NOTE: Keep the transmitter away from wa- ter or any liquid. If the keyless entrysystem is inoperative due to expo- sure to water or liquids, it will not be covered by your manufacturer ve-hicle warranty.

B070E02HP-EAT Replacing the battery When the transmitter's battery begins to get weak, it may take several pusheson the button to lock or unlock the doors, and the LED will not light. Re- place the battery as soon as possible. Battery type : CR1616 Replacement instructions:

The power windows operate when the ignition key is in the "ON" position. The main switches are located on the driver's armrest and control the frontand rear windows on both sides of the vehicle. The windows may be opened by depressing the appropriate windowswitch and closed by pulling up the switch. To open the window on the driver's side, press the switch(1) half-way down. The window moves as long as the switch is operated. To fully open the driver's window automatically, pressthe switch fully down. In automatic operation, the window will fully open even if you let go of the switch. To stopat the desired opening, pull up and release the switch.

2. Take off the battery cover after sepa- rating the transmitter.
3. Remove the old battery from the
transmitter with a blade screwdriver inserted in the hole and note the polarity. Make sure the polarity of the new battery is the same(+side facingup), then insert it in the transmitter.

!WARNING:
o When the SRS is activated, there may be a loud noise and fine dust will be released throughout thevehicle. These conditions are normal and are not hazardous. However, the fine dust generatedduring airbag deployment may cause skin irritation. Be sure to wash your hands and face thor-oughly with lukewarm water and a mild soap after an accident in which the airbags were deployed. o The SRS can function only when
the ignition key is in the "ON"position. If the SRS SRI does not flash, or continuously remains on after flashing for about 6 secondswhen the ignition key is turned to the "ON" position or after the en- gine is started, or comes on whilstdriving, the SRS is not working properly. If this occurs, have your vehicle immediately inspected byyour Hyundai authorised repairer.
o Before you replace a fuse or dis-
connect a battery terminal, turnthe ignition key to the "LOCK" position or remove the ignition key. Never remove or replace theair bag related fuse(s) when the ignition key is in the "ON" posi- tion. Failure to heed this warningwill cause the SRS SRI to illumi- nate. B240C02HP-EAT SRS Care The SRS is virtually maintenance-free and so there are no parts you cansafely service by yourself. The entire SRS system must be inspected by a Hyundai authorised repairer 10 yearsafter the date that the vehicle was manufactured. Any work on the SRS system, such as removing, installing, repairing, or any work on the steering wheel must beperformed by a qualified Hyundai tech- nician. Improper handling of the SRS system may result in serious personalinjury.

The front ashtray may be opened by pushing and releasing the ashtray/cigar lighter door at its top edge. To remove the ashtray in order to cleanit, the metal ash receptacle should be removed from the ashtray door. Do not attempt to remove the entire ashtraydoor assembly, or damage will result. Instead, lift the metal ash receptacle upward and pull it out. To reinstall it,place it in the proper position and press it down and forward to reengage the ash receptacle rear lip in the ashtray door.The ashtray light will only illuminate when the exterior body lights are switched on.

The power outlet is located in front of the centre console and in the quartertrim. It is also located behind the centre console. These supply 12V electrical power tooperate electric accessories or equip- ment only when the key is in the "ON" or "ACC" position.

o Only use the power outlet when the engine is running. Removethe electrical appliance from thepower outlet when not in use. Fail- ure to adhere to this advice may result in a discharged battery afterseveral hours.
o Do not use the power outlet to

B490A03Y-EAT Interior Light The interior courtesy light has three buttons. The three buttons are: o DOOR In the "DOOR" position, the interior courtesy light comes on when any door is opened regardless of the igni- tion key position. The light goes outgradually 6 seconds after the door is closed. o ON In the "ON" position, the light stays on at all times. NOTE: Ensure the light is turned to the "OFF" position after use. Leaving in the on position for prolonged peri-ods will discharge the battery.

YC030A2-E STEERING WHEEL LOCK When the ignition key is removed, the steering wheel lock will be activated.The lock only engages at one position of the steering wheel and therefore it will be necessary to turn the wheel untilthis position is reached. It is not, how- ever, necessary for the lock to be en- gaged before leaving the vehicle sincein the event of attempted unauthorised removal, the lock will engage when attempts are made to steer the vehicle.
CAUTION:

DC170A1-E The onset of winter conditions subject motor vehicles to greater operating demands. Therefore, the following suggestions will assist in maintainingpeak performance and reliability dur- ing these periods:
o Travel lightly. Don't carry unneces-
sary weight in your car. Weight re- duces fuel economy.
o Don't let the engine idle longer than
necessary. If you are waiting (andnot in traffic), turn off your engine and restart only when you're ready to go.
o Remember, your Hyundai does not require extended warm-up. After theengine has started, allow the engineto run for 10 to 20 seconds prior to placing the vehicle in gear. In very cold weather, however, give yourengine a slightly longer warm-up pe- riod.
o Don't "labour" or "over-rev" the en- gine. Labouring is driving too slowlyin too high a gear resulting in the vehicle kangarooing. If this happens,shift to a lower gear. Over-revving is racing the engine beyond its safe limit. This can be avoided by shiftingat the recommended speeds.
o Use your air conditioning sparingly.
The air conditioning system is oper-ated by engine power so your fuel economy is reduced when you use it.SMOOTH CORNERING
C150A01A-EAT Avoid braking or gear changing in cor- ners, especially when roads are wet. Ideally, corners should always be taken under gentle acceleration. If you followthese suggestions, tyre wear will be held to a minimum.
