Entry of air
Make sure that the exterior air inlet grille and manifold at the base of the windscreen is clean and free of dead leaves, snow, etc..If you wash the vehicle using a high pressure jet, avoid targeting anywhere near the air inlet.
Air vents
The face-level air vents have controls for adjusting the air ow and grilles for orienting the direction.
Air circulation
Maximum comfort is obtained from having a good distribution of air in both the front and the rear of the passenger compartment. Air outlets on the oor beneath the front seats enhance comfort for rear passengers, so you should make sure that these outlets are not obstructed.
Pollen lter
Your installation has a lter for excluding dust. This lter has to be changed at the prescribed maintenance intervals (see the Maintenance Guide).
Additional heating
Vehicles with HDi engines may be tted with an automatic additional heating system for enhancing your comfort.
It is normal to notice certain emissions of fumes and odours, especially when stationary, with the engine running at idle.
Air conditioning
Whatever the time of year, the air conditioning is useful in removing humidity and misting.
To keep the air conditioning compressor well sealed , it is essential to operate the air conditioning at least once in every month.
To be effective, the air conditioning should only b e operated with the windows closed.
If after a prolonged stop in bright sunshine, the inside temperature has become excessive, open the windows for a few moments to air the cabin, then close the windows again.
The temperature inside the cabin cannot be lower than the ambient temperature if the air conditioning is not operating.
If you are pulling a heavy trailer in very high ambient temperatures, the air conditioning may temporarily be interrupted if the engine cooling requirements demand this.
Water arising from the condensation in the air conditioning system drains out through a hole provided for that purpose; a pool of water may thus be observed underneath the vehicle when stationary.
It is recommended to have the air conditioning system checked on a regular basis (see the Maintenance Guide).
The air conditioning uses power from the engine to operate. There is a resulting slight increase in fu el consumption.

Starting the engine after a battery disconnection and reconnection
- Turn the ignition key.- Wait approx. ten seconds before actioning the starter so as to allow the electronic systems to reinitialise. It may be necessary to re-enter the radio code.
Note : After a battery disconnection or if there is a malfunction, you must rei-nitialise the anti-pinch on the driver’s window and on the sun roof.
Be aware that, during this manoeuvre, the anti-pinch device is not operational.
With removable front LH seat : To access the battery : - slide the seat as far as possible forwards,- remove the plastic protection A, at the rear of the seat.To change the battery :- remove the head restraint,- slide the seat as far as possible forwards,- using the tool located in the rear LH storage compartment, undo the two screws B situated at the rear on the RH slide and the screw C situated at the rear on the LH slide,- then slide the seat as far as possi-ble rearwards,- tilt the seat forwards to access the battery. To reposition the front LH seat :- perform the above actions in re-verse order,- check that the seat is properly se-cured.
Change of battery.
Replace the battery with one of the same type (with venting).
