Entry of air
Make sure that the exterior air inlet grille and manifold at the base of the windscreen is clean and free of dead leaves, snow, etc..If you wash the vehicle using a high pressure jet, avoid targeting anywhere near the air inlet.
Air vents
The face-level air vents have controls for adjusting the air ow and grilles for orienting the direction.
Air circulation
Maximum comfort is obtained from having a good distribution of air in both the front and the rear of the passenger compartment. Air outlets on the oor beneath the front seats enhance comfort for rear passengers, so you should make sure that these outlets are not obstructed.
Pollen lter
Your installation has a lter for excluding dust. This lter has to be changed at the prescribed maintenance intervals (see the Maintenance Guide).
Additional heating
Vehicles with HDi engines may be tted with an automatic additional heating system for enhancing your comfort.
It is normal to notice certain emissions of fumes and odours, especially when stationary, with the engine running at idle.
Air conditioning
Whatever the time of year, the air conditioning is useful in removing humidity and misting.
To keep the air conditioning compressor well sealed , it is essential to operate the air conditioning at least once in every month.
To be effective, the air conditioning should only b e operated with the windows closed.
If after a prolonged stop in bright sunshine, the inside temperature has become excessive, open the windows for a few moments to air the cabin, then close the windows again.
The temperature inside the cabin cannot be lower than the ambient temperature if the air conditioning is not operating.
If you are pulling a heavy trailer in very high ambient temperatures, the air conditioning may temporarily be interrupted if the engine cooling requirements demand this.
Water arising from the condensation in the air conditioning system drains out through a hole provided for that purpose; a pool of water may thus be observed underneath the vehicle when stationary.
It is recommended to have the air conditioning system checked on a regular basis (see the Maintenance Guide).
The air conditioning uses power from the engine to operate. There is a resulting slight increase in fu el consumption.

1 - Automatic operation
This is the optimal and normal mode
for using the air conditioning system
to ensure a circulation of air suf cient to maintain a good level of comfort.
A press on the control for this, con rmed by
the display of « AUTO », provides automatic
operation at the selected temperature of the
following 5 functions :
- Air ow.
- Cabin temperature.
- Air distribution.
- Air conditioning.
- Air recirculation. Is is advised to keep all the air vents open.Notes :
- When starting the engine from cold, in order to prevent an unwanted rush of cold
air, the blower attains its optimum level only
progressively. - When you are entering the vehicle after a fairly prolon-
ged stop and the temperature inside the cabin is far
colder (or far hotter) than would be comfortable, it is
no use altering the displayed temperature to try to res-
tore the desired comfort level more rapidly. The system
automatically strives to compensate this temperature
discrepancy as rapidly as possible.
2- Adjustment of temperature
To display the desired temperature,
press one of the buttons :
To increase the temperature
To decrease the température
Display of the temperature requested for the cabin
A setting close to 21 will provide a good comfort l evel.
Manual resumption of one or more functions
It is possible to adjust any of the following functions
manually, while retaining all the other functions in
automatic mode. The warning lamp for the «AUTO»
function will then go out.IIIIII
