ENGINE OIL REPLACEMENT
5. Start the engine and let it warm up for
several minutes.
CAUTION:
When the oil tank is empty, never start the
engine.
6. Idle the engine more than 10 seconds
while keeping the motorcycle upright.
Then stop the engine and add the oil to
the maximum level.
7. Install:
Oil tank cap
ENGINE OIL REPLACEMENT
1. Start the engine and let it warm up for
several minutes.
2. Stop the engine and place an oil pan
under the drain bolt.
3. Remove:
Oil tank plug 1
Oil filler cap 2
Drain bolt (with gasket) 3
Oil filter drain bolt (O-ring) 4
Drain bolt (with gasket) 5
Drain bolt (with gasket) 6
Drain the crankcase and oil tank
(frame) of its oil.
4. Remove:
Engine skid plate
Engine oil hose clamp 1
Bolt (engine oil hose) 2
Engine oil hose 3
Oil strainer (frame) 4
5. Clean:
Oil strainer (frame)

IDLE SPEED ADJUSTMENT
1. Start the engine and thoroughly warm it
up.
2. Adjust:
Idle speed
VALVE CLEARANCE ADJUSTMENT
NOTE:
The valve clearance should be adjusted
when the engine is cool to the touch.
The piston must be at Top Dead Center
(T.D.C.) on compression stroke to check or
adjust the valve clearance.
1. Remove:
Seat
Fuel tank
Refer to “SEAT, FUEL TANK AND SIDE
COVERS” section in the CHAPTER 4.
2. Remove:
Carburetor
Refer to “CARBURETOR” section in
the CHAPTER 4.
Spark plug
Engine stay (upper)
Cylinder head cover
Refer to “CAMSHAFTS” section in the
CHAPTER 4. Adjustment steps:
Adjust the pilot screw.
Refer to “PILOT SCREW ADJUSTMENT”
section.
Turn the throttle stop screw 1 until the
engine runs at the lowest possible speed.
NOTE:
Using a digital engine tachometer for idle
speed adjustment, detect the engine idling
speed by bringing the sensing element c of
the engine tachometer close to the ignition
coil 2.
To increase idle speed →
Turn the throttle stop screw 1 in a.
To decrease idle speed →
Turn the throttle stop screw 1 out b.
Engine idling speed:
1,900 ~ 2,100 r/min

8. Install:
Throttle shaft assembly 1
Plain washer (metal) 2
Plain washer (resin) 3
Valve lever 4
NOTE:
Apply the fluorochemical grease on the bear-
ings.
Fit the projection a on the throttle shaft
assembly into the slot b in the TPS (throttle
position sensor).
Make sure the stopper c of the spring fits
into the recess in the carburetor.
Turn the throttle shaft assembly left while
holding down the lever 1 5 and fit the throt-
tle stop screw tip d to the stopper e of the
throttle shaft assembly pulley.

NOTE:
Install the bracket so that the arrow mark a
faces upward.
First tighten the bolt on the upper side of the
master cylinder bracket, and then tighten the
bolt on the lower side.
9. Install:
“ENGINE STOP” button 1
Clutch lever holder 2
Bolt (clutch lever holder) 3
Hot starter lever holder 4
Bolt (hot starter lever holder) 5
Clamp 6
NOTE:
The “ENGINE STOP” button, clutch lever
holder and clamp should be installed accord-
ing to the dimensions shown.
Pass the “ENGINE STOP” button lead in the
middle of the clutch lever holder.

10. Install:

NOTE:
Apply the lithium soap base grease on the
clutch cable end and hot starter cable end.
11. Adjust:
Clutch lever free play

Hot starter lever free play

ADJUSTMENT” section in the CHAP-

HINWEIS:
Die Halterung mit nach oben gerichteter
Pfeilmarkierung a einbauen.
Zuerst die oberen, dann die unteren Halte-
rungsschrauben festziehen.
9. Montieren:
Motorstoppschalter “ENGINE STOP” 1
Kupplungshebel-Halterung 2
Schraube (Halterung) 3
Heißstarter-Hebelhalter 4
Schraube (Heißstarter-Hebelhalter) 5
Kabelbinder 6
HINWEIS:
Motorstoppschalter, Kupplungshebel-Halte-
rung und Kabelbinder gemäß den in der Ab-
bildung gezeigten Abmessungen montieren.
Das Motorstoppschalter-Kabel mittig durch
die Kupplungshebel-Halterung führen.
10. Montieren:
Kupplungszug 1
Heißstarterseilzug 2
HINWEIS:
Lithiumfett auf die Enden des Kupplungsseil-
zugs und warmstart-Seilzugs auftragen.
11. Einstellen:
Kupplungszugspiel
Siehe unter “KUPPLUNG EINSTEL-
LEN” im KAPITEL 3.
Spiel des Heißstarter-Hebels
Siehe unter “WARMSTART-HEBEL-
EINSTELLUNG” im KAPITEL 3.

Demi-palier de fixation de maître-cylindre 2

N.B.:
Reposer la support pour que la flèche a soit diri-
gée vers le haut.
Serrer d’abord le boulon sur le côté supérieur du
demi-palier de fixation de maître-cylindre, puis
serrer le boulon sur le côté inférieur.
9. Monter:
Bouton d’arrêt du moteur “ENGINE
STOP” 1
Support de levier d’embrayage 2
Boulon (support de levier d’embrayage) 3
Support du levier de démarreur à chaud 4
Boulon (support du levier de démarreur à
chaud) 5
Bride 6
N.B.:
Le bouton d’arrêt du moteur “ENGINE STOP”,
le support de levier d’embrayage et l’attache en
plastique doivent être installés en respectant les
dimensions indiquées.
Faire passer le fil de bouton d’arrêt du moteur
“ENGINE STOP” au centre du support de levier
d’embrayage.
10. Monter:
Câble d’embrayage 1
Câble de démarreur à chaud 2
N.B.:
Enduire de graisse à base de savon au lithium
l’extrémité du câble d’embrayage et l’extrémité du
câble de démarrage à chaud.
11. Régler:
Jeu du levier d’embrayage
Se reporter à la section “REGLAGE DE
L’EMBRAYAGE” du CHAPITRE 3.
Jeu du levier de démarreur à chaud
Se reporter à la section “REGLAGE DU
LEVIER DE DEMARREUR A CHAUD”
