Automatic check
With the ignition on (2nd notch)If no malfunction has been detected: In the
absence of vehicle func-tion status indicator lights,the OK light is displayed
after two seconds on the instru-ment panel screen. Otherwise, itwill be displayed after these indi-cator lights come on. If a 'minor' malfunction has been detected: the warning light for the
faulty function is displayed on theinstrument panel screen. Certainindicator lights showing the status ofvehicle functions may also come on,followed by the OKindicator light.
If a 'major' malfunction has beendetected: the corresponding warning
light is displayed on the instrumentpanel screen. Certain indicator lightsshowing the status of vehicle func-
tions may also come on. The OK
indicator light does not come on. Do
not start your vehicle. Contact a
PEUGEOT dealer. Afterwards, if the passenger air bag is disarmed, the correspon-ding warning light will come on.
With the engine running or if the vehicle is moving , the instrument
panel screen temporarily displays:
- lights indicating warnings, when
these occur,
- vehicle function status indicator lights, when a changeoccurs. The display of certain indicatorlights is accompanied by anaudible signal and a message
on the multi-function display. Manual check
Press the "CHECK" button on
the instrument panel.
With the ignition key in the accessories position, with the ignition switched on,with the engine running or the vehiclemoving, this function informs you at alltimes of the following:
- any current warnings,
- the status of functions which it is possible to switch on or switch off (windscreen wipers, automaticswitching on of lights, cruisecontrol, disarming of passenger airbag, etc.).
The corresponding warning lightsare displayed in succession onthe instrument panel screen. If a warning or a change of status occurs during the CHECKmode, the
corresponding indicator light(s) will bedisplayed at the end of this mode.

Never run the engine in a confined space. Do not make any modi-
fications to the steering lock.

CRUISE CONTROL Cruise control enables the vehicle to maintain a steady speed
programmed by the driver, irres-pective of the road conditions andwithout the accelerator or brakepedal being pressed. In order for it to be memorised, the speed of the vehicle must begreater than 25mph (40km/h) or40mph (60km/h), depending onengine, with at least 4th gearengaged (2nd gear for the auto-matic gearbox). OperationPlace the ring of stalk A in the ONposition.
The indicator lightcomes on, accompa-nied by an audiblesignal. FRONT AIR BAGS Disarming the passenger air bag*
with the ignition off, insert thekey into slot 1and turn it:
Ð to the 'ON' position, the
passenger air bag is armed,
Ð to the 'OFF'position, the
passenger air bag is disarmed.
Operating check When the passenger airbag is disarmed, the war-ning light comes on whenthe ignition is switched on(2nd notch), accompanied
by an audible signal and the mes-sage 'Passenger air bag deacti-
vated' . Front air bag fault
If this warning light comes on, accompaniedby an audible signal andthe message 'Air bag
fault' , contact a PEUGEOT dealer
to have the system checked. Passenger air bag precautionsDisarm the air bag ifyou installa rear-facing childseat.
Arm the airbag for anadult pas-
senger.
Never place your feet or anyobject on the fascia.

If there is a lack of oil in the lubrication circuit, top up the level.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer as soon as possible.
Puncture warning light This symbol comes on accompanied by an audible signal and the mes- sage 'Punctured tyre(s) detected' on the multi-function display.
It is linked to the STOPwarning light. Stop immediately.
Change the damaged wheel.
Have it repaired by a PEUGEOT dealer.

Tyre under-inflation warning light Display of this warning light is accompanied by an audible signal and the message 'Tyre(s) pressure low' on the
multi-function display.Have the tyre pressure checked as soon as possible.
Low coolant level warning light (except 2 litre 16V and 2.2 litre 16V petrol engines) Display of this warning light is accompanied by an audible signal and the message 'Cooling circuit level low' on
the multi-function display.
Stop immediately.
Warning: wait for the engine to cool before topping up.
The cooling system is pressurised.In the event of breakdown and to prevent the risk of scalding, unscrew the cap by two turns to allow the pressure to drop. When the pressure has dropped, remove the cap and top up the level.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
Seat belt not fastened warning light Display of this warning light is accompanied by an audible signal and the message 'Seat belt reminder' on the
multi-function display.With the engine running, the warning light comes on when the driver's seat belt is unfastened. Electronic immobiliser warning light Display of this warning light is accompanied by an audible signal and the message 'Electronic theft protection
fault' on the multi-function display.
It indicates a malfunction of the electronic immobiliser system.

Coolant temperature indicator When the needle is in zone A, the
temperature is correct.When the needle is in zone B, the
temperature is too high.In cases where the coolant tempe- rature warning light comes on (lin-
ked to the STOP warning light), you
must stop immediately.
Warning: wait for the engine to cool
down.
If necessary, top up the level.Because the cooling system is pres- surised, to prevent the risk of scal-ding, turn the cap two turns to allowthe pressure to drop. When the pressure has dropped, remove the cap and top up the level.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
Engine oil level and temperature When the ignition is switched on, this gauge indicates the engine oil levelfor approximately 20 seconds, then itindicates the engine oil temperature. Engine oil level The reading is valid only if the vehicle is on level ground, and the
engine has been switched off for 10minutes. With the ignition on, wait for the gra- duated sector to light up and the indi-cator needle to move. When the needle is in zone C, the oil
level is correct.When the needle is in zone D, the oil
level is incorrect.There is a risk of damage to the engine.
Check the level with the dipstick.
You must top up the level withoutexceeding the maximum level onthe gauge.
Engine oil temperature When the needle is in zone E, the
temperature is correct.When the needle is in zone F, the
temperature is too high.Reduce your speed to lower the temperature.
Service indicator and total distance recorder When the ignition is switched on, this indicates servicing information for afew seconds, then the total and tripdistances. Service functionSee the 'Service indicator' section.
Total distance recorder function The total distance is displayed on the left side of the screen and the tripdistance on the right side.

BONNET Opening Pull the lever, located in the driver's footwell, downwards.
Lift the catch and raise the bonnet.
Bonnet assister struts open the bon-net and keep it open. Closing
Lower the bonnet and release it at the end of its travel.
Check that it is locked.
'Bonnet open' warning With the ignition on (2nd notch), with the engine running or when thevehicle is moving, the door openwarning light comes on, accompa-nied by an audible signal and a dia-
gram on the multi-function display, ifthe bonnet is not properly closed.
¥ safety auto-reverse (on sliding only) When the sunroof is closing and meets an obstacle, it stops thenpartially opens again.
In the event of unwanted opening ofthe sunroof on closing, press part B
of the switch until the sunroof is fully
open. As soon as the sunroof stops,press part Aof the switch until the
sunroof is fully closed. The safety auto-reverse function is not operational during this ope-ration. Note: the sunroof shutter is manual.
Always remove the key from the ignition when leaving the vehicle, even fora short time.
In the event of contact when opera-ting the sunroof, you must reverse
the movement of the sunroof. To dothis, press the switch concerned. When the driver operates the sun- roof switch, he must ensure that noone is preventing correct closing ofthe sunroof. The driver must ensure that passengers use the electric sunroof
correctly. Be aware of children when operating the sunroof.
SUNROOF Control the sunroof:- manually: lightly press the switch;
the roof stops as soon as the switch is released.
- automatically: press the switch
down fully; the roof opens or closescompletely depending on where theswitch is pressed.
¥ to partially open the roof: press
part Aof the switch. To close it,
press part B of the switch.
¥ to open the roof completely:press part Bof the switch.
¥ to close it completely: press part
A of the switch.
