1 CHECK OVERALL FUNCTION-I
With CONSULT-II
1. Turn ignition switch ªONº.
2. Select ªACCEL POS SENº in ªDATA MONITORº mode with CONSULT-II.
3. Check ªACCEL POS SENº signal under the following conditions.

Without CONSULT-II
1. Turn ignition switch ªONº.
2. Check voltage between ECM terminal 23 and ground under the following conditions.

OK or NG
OK EGO TO 2.
NG EGO TO 3.

2 CHECK OVERALL FUNCTION-II
With CONSULT-II
1. Turn ignition switch ªONº.
2. Select ªFULL ACCEL SWº and ªOFF ACCEL SWº in ªDATA MONITORº mode with CONSULT-II.
3. Check ªFULL ACCEL SWº and ªOFF ACCEL SWº signal under the following conditions.

1. Turn ignition switch ªONº.
2. Check voltage between ECM terminals 31, 32 and ground under the following conditions.

3 CHECK ACCELERATOR POSITION SENSOR POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT
1. Turn ignition switch ªOFFº.
2. Disconnect accelerator position sensor harness connector.

3. Turn ignition switch ªONº.
4. Check voltage between accelerator position sensor terminal 1 and ground with CONSULT-II or tester.

OK EGO TO 4.
NG ERepair open circuit or short to ground or short to power in harness or connectors.

4 CHECK ACCELERATOR POSITION SENSOR GROUND CIRCUIT FOR OPEN AND SHORT
1. Turn ignition switch ªOFFº.
2. Loosen and retighten engine ground screw.

3. Check harness continuity between accelerator position sensor terminal 3 and engine ground. Refer to Wiring Diagram.Continuity should exist.
4. Also check harness for short to ground and short to power.
OK or NG
OK EGO TO 5.
NG ERepair open circuit or short to ground or short to power in harness or connectors.
5 CHECK ACCELERATOR POSITION SENSOR INPUT SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR OPEN AND SHORT
1. Disconnect ECM harness connector.
2. Check harness continuity between ECM terminal 23 and accelerator position sensor terminal 2. Refer to Wiring Diagram.
Continuity should exist.
3. Also check harness for short to ground and short to power.
OK or NG
OK (with CONSULT-II) EGO TO 6.
OK (without CONSULT-II) EGO TO 7.
NG ERepair open circuit or short to ground or short to power in harness or connectors.
