Pivot shaft

NOTE:If the pivot shaft is pulled all the way
out, the swingarm will come loose. If
possible, insert a shaft of similar
diameter into the other side of the
swingarm to support it.
2. Remove:
Engine

From right side.
NOTE:Make sure that the couplers, hoses
and cables are disconnected.

Pignon d’entraînement
1. Déposer:
Ecrou (pignon d’entraînement) 1
Rondelle-frein 2
N.B.:
Redresser la languette de la rondelle-
frein.
Desserrer l’écrou tout en actionnant le
frein arrière.
2. Déposer:
Pignon d’entraînement 1
Chaîne de transmission 2
N.B.:
Déposer le pignon d’entraînement avec
la chaîne de transmission.
Dépose du moteur
1. Déposer:
Arbre de pivot 1
N.B.:
Si l’on sort complètement l’arbre de
pivot, le bras oscillant va tomber. Si pos-
sible, introduire une tige de diamètre
équivalent de l’autre côté du bras pour le
soutenir.
2. Déposer:
Moteur 1
Du côté droit.
N.B.:
Vérifier que les fiches rapides, tuyaux et
câbles sont déconnectés.

REMOVAL POINTS
Crankcase
1. Separate:
Right crankcase
Left crankcase
Separation steps:
Remove the crankcase bolts

NOTE:Loosen each bolt 1/4 of a turn at a
time and after all the bolts are
loosened, remove them.
Remove the right crankcase

NOTE:Place the crankcase with its left
side downward and split it by
inserting a screwdriver tip into
the splitting slit
a in the crank-
case.
Lift the right crankcase horizon-
tally while lightly patting the
case splitting slit and engine
mounting boss using a soft
hammer, and leave the crank-
shaft and transmission with the
left crankcase.
CAUTION:
Use soft hammer to tap on the
case half. Tap only on rein-
forced portions of case. Do not
tap on gasket mating surface.
Work slowly and carefully.
Make sure the case halves sep-
arate evenly. If one end “hangs
up”, take pressure off the push
screw, realign, and start over. If
the cases do not separate,
check for a remaining case
screw or fitting. Do not force.
Remove the dowel pins and O-
ring.

POINTS DE DEPOSE
Carter
1. Séparer:
Demi-carter droit
Demi-carter gauche
Etapes de la séparation:
Déposer les boulons de carter 1,
le guide de durit 2 et le support de
câble d’embrayage 3.
N.B.:
Desserrer chaque boulon d’un quart
de tour à la fois, et quand tous les
boulons sont desserrés, les déposer.
Déposer le demi-carter droit 4.
N.B.:
Déposer le carter le côté gauche
vers le bas et le séparer en insérant
la pointe d’un tournevis dans la
fente de séparation a du carter.
Soulever uniformément le demi-
carter droit tout en tapotant légère-
ment la fente de séparation ainsi
que la noix de montage du moteur
à l’aide d’un maillet en plastique.
Le carter et la boîte à vitesses res-
tent attachés au demi-carter gau-
che.
ATTENTION:
Utiliser un maillet en plastique, et
ne taper que sur les portions ren-
forcées du carter. Ne pas taper sur
les plans de joint. Travailler lente-
ment et avec précaution, en s’assu-
rant que les deux demi-carters se
séparent uniformément. Si elles
restent collées d’un côté, relâcher
le boulon presseur, rétablir le
parallélisme, et recommencer. Si le
carter ne se sépare pas, vérifier si
on n’a pas oublié d’enlever un bou-
lon ou une vis. Il ne faut surtout
pas forcer.
Déposer les goujons et le joint tori-
que.

N.B.:
Fixer le demi-carter droit sur le demi-
carter gauche. Taper légèrement sur le
carter à l’aide d’un maillet.
Quand le carter est installé, la bielle
d’accouplement doit être positionnée
au PMH (point mort haut).
