TheRolloverProtectionSystemonthe
Cabrioletconsistsoftwosupplementalsafety
barsthattogetherwiththefrontwindshield
framehelptocreateoccupantsurvivalspacein
caseofrollover.Becauseoftheextremeand
unpredictableforceswhichcanbeencountered
inarollover,itisnotpossibletoguaranteethat
occupantswillbeprotectedfromallcontactwith
exteriorobjectsortheground.However,the
RolloverProtectionSystemisdesignedtomain-
taintheoccupantsurvivalspace.
TheRolloverProtectionSystemisactivated
automaticallyintheeventofanaccidentorex-
tremedrivingsituation.
Theprotectivedevicesarelocatedbehindeach
rearseatandrapidlydeploywithinafractionof
asecond.
Theycandeployunder:
-Extremetiltingofthevehicle.
-Lossofgroundcontact(e.g.Goingoverthe
crestofahillathighspeed).

Warninglight
Thewarninglightilluminateswhenignitionis
switchedonandgoesoffwhenengineisrun-
ning.
Shouldthewarninglightsintheinstrumentpanel
andon-boardcomputerilluminatewiththeen-
ginerunningorwhiledriving,itmeansthata
faulthasbeendetectedinthesystem.Theoper-
ationofthesystemmaybecompromised.
SeeyourauthorizedPorschedealerimmediately
andhavethefaultremedied.
AirFilter
Adirtyairfilternotonlyreducesengineperfor-
mance,butcanleadtoprematureenginewear.
Regularfilterreplacementispartoftheroutine
maintenanceservice.
t>Industyconditions,checkthefilterelement
morefrequentlyandreplaceifnecessary.
ParticleFilter
Thefreshairpassingthroughtheparticlefilter
intothepassengercompartmentisvirtuallyfree
ofdustandpollen.
t>Iftheoutsideairispollutedbyexhaustfumes,
pressthecirculating-airbutton.
Adirtyfiltercanbethecauseofreducedair
flow:

Thetorqueconverterandthetransmissionare

missionmaybedamagedbyevenatinyspeck
ofdirt,onlyacleanfunnelorspoutmustbe
usedwhenaddingATF.

andchangedattheintervalslistedinyourMain-
tenanceSchedule.
WerecommendthatyouhavetheATFandtrans-
missionoilchangedatyourPorschedealer,who
hastherequiredlubricantsandthenecessary
fillingequipment.
Ifyoususpectanoilleakinthetransmission,
haveyourauthorizedPorschedealercheckit
outimmediately.
