THE RETRACTABLE ROOF Before operating the roof: It is advisable to park the vehi- cle on level ground, it is possi-ble to carry out the operationat a speed below 6 mph
(10 km/h).
Ensure that the screen 1is
hooked on (no object must beplaced on the screen or on thehinged covers 2; if there is
luggage in the boot, this mustnot push the screen upwards).
Check that no object has beenplaced on the rear parcelshelf.
Close the boot correctly.
Turn the ignition key to the
accessories or running posi-tion (1st or 2nd notch). It isadvisable to carry out the oper-ation with the engine running. Opening the roof
Pull button 3until the roof
opening operation is com- plete, confirmed by an audiblesignal.
Closing the roof Press button 3until the roof
closing operation is complete, confirmed by an audible signal.
Note: if you continue to pull or
press button 3once the cycle is
complete, the four windows riseagain. When carrying out roofopening or closing opera-tions, to avoid any risk of
injury, ensure that there isno one in the proximity of
the moving parts. Operation of the roof is the sole
responsibility of the driver.
To guarantee correct opera- tion, do not release button 3when the roof is in an interme-diate position (neither com-pletely open nor completely
closed). However, in the event
of danger, release the controlbutton and the operation will
stop instantly. Once the dangerhas been eliminated, completethe operation.

AIR BAGS The air bag system has been designed to maximise the safetyof the occupants in the event ofserious collisions. It works in con-junction with the force limitingseat belts. Front air bags These are folded in the centre of the steering wheel for the driverand in the fascia for the front pas-
senger. They are deployed simul-
taneously, except in cases wherethe passenger air bag is dis-armed. Precautions regarding the passenger air bag disarm the air bag if you install a rear-facing child seat,
activate the air bag for an
adult passenger. Disarming the passenger air bag*
With the ignition off , insert
the ignition key into the pas- senger air bag slot 1and turn
it to the "OFF"position.
As soon as you remove the childseat, turn the air bag switch to the"ON" position, to activate the air
bag again. Disarming check
With the ignition switchedon (2nd notch), illumina-tion of this warning light,accompanied by an audi-
ble signal and the message"Passenger air bag deactivated"
on the multi-function display, indi-cates that the passenger air bagis disarmed (slot in the "OFF"
position). The warning light remains on throughout the disarming process. Side air bags The side air bags are incorporat- ed into the front seat back frame,on the door side and aredeployed independently of each
other, on whichever side the colli-sion occurs.

CRUISE CONTROL The cruise control makes it possi- ble to maintain a constant vehiclespeed, programmed by the dri-
ver, irrespective of the profile ofthe road and without any action
on the accelerator or the brake ped-als. In order for the vehicle speed to be memorised, it must be greaterthan 25 mph (40 km/h) (manualgearbox) or 37 mph (60 km/h)(automatic gearbox), with at least4th gear engaged (2nd gear forthe automatic gearbox).Activation
Place knob 1in the ONposition.
A speed can now be memorised. Place knob 1in the OFFposition to deactivate the system.
Memorising a speed When you reach the required speed, press button 2or 3. The speed is
memorised and will be maintained automatically.Note: it is possible to accelerate temporarily without deactivating the
cruise control. Deactivating the memorised speed If you wish to deactivate the memorised speed: press button 4or the brake or clutch pedal.
Recalling the memorised speed After deactivation, press button 4. Your vehicle reverts to the last memo-
rised speed. Cancelling the stored speed Place knob 1in the OFFposition or switch off the ignition.
Do not use the cruise control on slippery roads or in heavy traffic.

SERVICE INDICATOR This indicates when the next service is due in accordance with the manu-facturer's servicing schedule. Operation For 5 seconds after the ignition is switched on, the spanner symbolis-ing the servicing operations comeson; the distance recorder displayindicates the number of miles [kilo-
metres] (rounded off) remaining untilthe next service. Example:
4,800 miles remain before
the next service. For five seconds after the ignition is switched on, thedisplay indicates: The distance remaining to the next
service is less than 500 miles. Example:
400 miles remain before
the next service.For 5 seconds after the ignition is switched on, the indicator displays: 5 seconds after the ignition was switched on, the distance recorderresumes its normal operation andthe spanner remains lit. It indicates that a service must be
carried out soon. The display indi-cates the total and trip distance.
5 seconds after the ignition wasswitched on, the distance recorderresumes its normal operation andthe display indicates the total and tripdistance.
The service is overdue. The service spanner flashes for
5 seconds after the ignition isswitched on. Example:
the service is overdue by
300 miles, your vehicle must be ser- viced as soon as possible. For 5 seconds after the ignition is switched on, the display indicates:
5 seconds after the ignition was switched on, the distance recorderresumes its normal operation andthe service spanner remains lit. The display indicates the total and trip distance. Note: the service spanner may also
come on if more than two years have elapsed since the last service (refer to
the "PEUGEOT Servicing" section).

Zero re-set
Your PEUGEOT dealer carries out this operation after each service.
However, if you carry out the service yourself, the re-set procedure is asfollows:
Switch off the ignition,
Press and hold the trip recorder re-set button,
Switch on the ignition.
The display begins a countdown. When the display shows "0000.0",
release the button; the service sym- bol disappears. Important: after this operation, if
you wish to disconnect the battery, lock the vehicle and wait for at leastfive minutes, otherwise the zero re-set will not be registered.

A permanently lit warning light or one that flashes with the engine run-ning, indicates an operating fault inthe relevant unit. Some warninglights may be linked to buzzers anda message on the multi-function dis-
play. Do not ignore this warning:contact a PEUGEOT dealer as soonas possible.
If the Central STOP warning light comes on when you are driving,stop immediately where it is safeto do so.
Central STOP warning light
This light comes on each time the ignition is switched on. It is linked to the "engine oil pres- sure", ''coolant level low'', ''brakefluid level'' and "electronic brakeforce distribution fault'' warning lightsand the ''coolant temperature'' and"engine oil temperature" gauges. Stop immediately if it flashes with the engine running.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer. Engine oil pressure warning light
Linked to the central STOPwarning
light. If it comes on with the engine running, it is accompanied by an audible signaland the message "Oil pressure
insufficient" or "Top up engine oil
level" on the multi-function display.
Stop immediately. If there is a lack of oil in the lubrication circuit, top up the level.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer without
delay.
Low coolant level warning light*
Linked to the central STOPwarning
light. This comes on for approximately
3 seconds each time the ignition isswitched on. This warning light is accompanied by an audible signal and the message
"Top up engine coolant level" on
the multi-function display.
Stop immediately.
* According to engine. Warning:
Allow the engine to cool
before topping up. The cooling system is pressurised.
To prevent the risk of scalding, unscrew the cap by two turns toallow the pressure to drop. Once the pressure has dropped, remove the cap and top up the level.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
Handbrake and low brake fluid levelwarning light Linked to the central STOP
warning light. This comes on each time the ignition is switched on. Illumination of this light is accompa- nied by an audible signal and a mes-sage on the multi-function displayindicating the cause of the warning: Ð "Handbrake on" , if the handbrake
is applied or has not been released
correctly,
Ð "Brake fluid level low" if there is
an excessive drop in the brake fluid(if the light remains on even with thehandbrake released),
Ð "Braking fault" is displayed simul-
taneously with the ABS light, indi-cating a malfunction of the elec-tronic brake force distribution.
Stop immediately.
