MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LIGHT(If installed)
This light illuminates when there is a malfunction of an exhaust gas related component, and the system is not functioning properly so that the ex-haust gas regulation values are not satisfied. This light will also illuminate when the ignition key is turned to the"ON" position, and will go out in a few seconds. If it illuminates while driving, or does not illuminate when the ignitionkey is turned to the "ON" position, take your car to your nearest authorized Hyundai dealer and have the systemchecked. STOP/TAIL LIGHT FAIL URE WARNINGLIGHT
If the Stop/Tail Light Failure warning light comes on when the parking brake is applied or the tail light is turned on,check the brake lines or the tail light bulb.

The cruise indicator light in the instru- ment cluster is illuminated only when the vehicle cruising speed has beenset using the control switch on the steering wheel. The indicator light does not illuminatewhen the main cruise control switch is activated. Information on the use of cruise con-trol may be found on page 1-74.

The sound may come and go or be heard all the time when the vehicle is moving. Itmay also be heard when the brake pedal is pushed down firmly. Exces- sive rotor damage will result if the wornpads are not replaced. See your

First distance you have trav-eled from your origination point to a first destination.
TRIP B: Second distance from the first destination to the final desti- nation.
To shift from TRIP A to TRIP B, pressthe reset switch. When pressed for 1 second, it will reset to 0.

To turn on the rear fog lights, push the switch. They will come on when the headlight switch is in the second posi-tion and the key is in the "ON" position.
B340A01A-AAT COMBINATION TURN SIGNAL, HEADLIGHT AND HIGH-BEAM SWITCH Turn Signal Operation Pulling down on the lever causes the turn signals on the left side of the car to blink. Pushing upwards on the lever causes the turn signals on the rightside of the car to blink. As the turn is completed, the lever will automatically return to the center position and turnoff the turn signals at the same time. If either turn signal indicator light blinks more rapidly than usual, goes on butdoes not blink, or does not go on at all, there is a malfunction in the system. Check for a burned-out fuse or bulb orsee your Hyundai dealer. B340B01A-AAT Lane Change Signal To indicate a lane change, move the lever up or down to a point where it begins flashing. The lever will automatically return tothe center position when released.

To operate the headlights, turn the barrel on the end of the multi-function switch. The first position turns on the parking lights, sidelights, tail lights andinstrument panel lights. The second position turns on the headlights. NOTE: The ignition must be in the "ON" position to turn on the headlights. Parking light auto cut If you do not turn the parking lights "OFF" after driving, the parking lightswill automatically shut "OFF" when the driver's door is opened. HHP267

To operate the automatic light feature, turn the barrel on the end of the multi- function switch. If you set the multi- function switch to "AUTO", the taillights and headlights will be turned automatically on or off according to external illumination. B340D01A-AAT High-beam Switch To turn on the headlight high beams, push the lever forward (away from you). The High Beam Indicator Light will come on at the same time. For lowbeams, pull the lever back toward you.

B340F01A-GAT Daytime Running Lights (If Installed) Your Hyundai is equipped with day- time running lights. The daytime run- ning lights are used to improve visibil-ity for oncoming traffic. Your vehicle daytime running lights are designed to remain on continuously when the en-gine is operating even though the head- light switch is in the "OFF" position. However, the daytime running lightswill be off while the parking brake is applied.
To turn them "ON" again you mustsimply turn the ignition key to the "ON" position.

B340E01A-AAT Headlight Flasher To flash the headlights, pull the switch lever toward you, then release it. The headlights can be flashed even though the headlight switch is in the "OFF"position.

1. Intermittent wiper operation
2. Low-speed operation

Rain Sensor
The rear window defroster and heated outside rearview mirrors are turned onby pushing in the switch. At the same time, the rear window defroster indica- tor light on the switch is turned on. Toturn the defroster off, push the switch a second time. The rear window de- froster automatically turns itself off af-ter about 20 minutes. To restart the defroster cycle, push in the switch again after it has turned itself off.

B370A01A-AAT HAZARD WARNING SYSTEM The hazard warning system should be used whenever you find it necessary to stop the car in a hazardous location. When you must make such an emer-gency stop, always pull off the road as far as possible. The hazard warning lights are turnedon by pushing in the hazard switch. This causes all turn signal lights to blink. The hazard warning lights willoperate even though the key is not in the ignition. To turn the hazard warning lights off,push the switch a second time. B430A01Y-AAT FRONT ASHTRAY The front ashtray may be opened by pushing and releasing the ashtray/ciga- rette lighter door at its top edge. To remove the ashtray to clean it, themetal ash receptacle should be re- moved from the ashtray door. Do not attempt to remove the entire ashtraydoor assembly or damage will result. HXG055

For the cigarette lighter to work, the key must be in the "ACC" position or the "ON" position. To use the cigarette lighter, push it allthe way into its socket. When the element has heated, the lighter will pop out to the "ready" position.Do not hold the cigarette lighter pressed in. Instead, push the metal ash recep- tacle down and forward in the ashtray door, and it can then be lifted out. Toreinstall it, place it in the proper posi- tion and press it down and forward to reengage the ash receptacle rear lip inthe ashtray door. The ashtray light will only illuminate when the exterior body lights are switched on.
B440A01L-GAT REAR ASHTRAY The rear ashtray may be opened by pulling the lid up by its top edge. To remove the ashtray to empty or clean it, lift it up slightly and pull it all the wayout.
