Enter Place Name:
Select the first character (1) of the desired Place Name
with the joystick and press . The character will
appear in the text window (2) and all places starting
with this character will appear in the Place Name
list (3).To enter additional characters, repeat this step. All
unnecessary characters are shaded out.
To correct the last character select “Delete” (4) with the
joystick and press .
Select the desired Place Name with the joystick from the
Place Name list and press .
Note:
Duplicate place names are listed in order of proximity
(nearest place first).
The Confirm Destination menu will appear.
Select “OK to Proceed” with the joystick and press ,
the MCS will begin calculating the route.
Select “Save in Address Book” with the joystick and
press , the address will be stored in the Address
Book, page 110.
Select “Add to Today’s Plan” with the joystick and press

window (2). Use the joystick to spell out the name as
you would like to see in the address book.

Note:
If a Point of Interest is selected, the Point of Interest
name will automatically appear in the Input Name dis-
play. Select “Delete” with the joystick to completely
erase and replace the name.
When the new name is spelled out completely, select
“Save” with the joystick and press . If you don’t wish

The Confirm Address menu appears. After selection
press .
• “Delete from Today’s Plan”: The address will be
deleted. A confirmation window will appear. Press
if you are certain you want to delete the address.
Press if you do not want to delete the address.
• “Delete All”: All addresses will be deleted.
• “Don’t Delete”: The selected address will not be
deleted or changed. You will return to the Option
menu.Recent Route editing
Whenever a route is calculated or the current position is
saved, the address of the destination is stored into the
Recent Route list. The list holds the twenty most
recently input destinations. Any of the twenty previous
destinations can be deleted from this list.

Altering the map scale
In map mode you can zoom the map in or out for more
or less detail.
Press to zoom in.
Press to zoom out.Break off route guidance
To activate the softkeys press any softkey.
Press softkey “STOP”.
A window appears confirming the stop request. To con-
tinue press . If you don’t wish to continue, press
or wait 10 seconds and the stop request will be
cancelled.
The current destination is cancelled.

Detour function
If during route guidance you require the navigation sys-
tem to detour around an obstacle, you can automatically
request a new route.
Press any softkey to activate the softkeys. Then
press the softkey “DETR”.
A window appears confirming the detour request. To
continue press . If you don’t want to continue, press
or wait 10 seconds, the detour request will be can-
celled.If you have pressed button, the navigation system
will recalculate the route around the upcoming detour.
Note:
When you are traveling on an expressway or a freeway,
the system calculates a new route avoiding the current
road for a distance of five miles. On surface streets, the
system calculates a new route avoiding the current road
fore a distance of one mile.
