When ÒBASSÓ is d isp layed , p ress the ÒDÓor ÒEÓ b uttons to vary the setting .
Ð ÒBASS Ð9Ó for a minimum b ass setting ,
Ð ÒBASS 0Ó for a normal p osition,
Ð ÒBASS +9Ó for a maximum b ass setting .
Treble setting
When ÒTREBÓ is d isp layed , p ress the ÒDÓor ÒEÓ b uttons to vary the setting .

Ð ÒTREB +9Ó for a maximum treb le setting .
Adjusting the loudness
This func tion automatic ally emp hasises b ass and treb le tones when the volume is low.
Press the ÒDÓor ÒEÓ b uttons to switc h this func tion on or off.
Setting the front/rear sound distribution (Fader)
When ÒFADÓ is d isp layed , p ress the ÒDÓor ÒEÓ b uttons to vary the setting .
The ÒDÓ b utton inc reases the volume at the front.
The ÒEÓb utton inc reases the volume at the rear.
Setting the right/left sound distribution (Balance)
When ÒBALÓ is d isp layed , p ress the ÒDÓor ÒEÓ b uttons to vary the setting .
The ÒDÓ b utton inc reases the volume on the rig ht-hand sid e.
The ÒEÓb utton inc reases the volume on the left-hand sid e.

RADIO Notes on radio reception

(MW/LW) and freq uenc y mod ulation (FM) rec ep tion are sub jec t to various forms of interferenc e whic h are not a reflec -

On MW/LW, interferenc e may b e notic ed when p assing und erneath hig h voltag e p ower lines or b rid g es or in tunnels.
On FM, interferenc e may b e the result of d istanc e from the transmitter, reflec tion of the sig nal b y ob stac les (mountains,

The sc rolling stop s on the first station found immed iately after you release the b utton.
If TA, traffic information p rog ramme, is selec ted , only stations b road c asting this typ e of p rog ramme are selec ted .
Searc hing for a station oc c urs first in ÒLOÓsensitivity (selec tion of the most p owerful transmitters) d uring sc anning of the
waveb and , then in ÒDXÓsensitivity (selec tion of the weakest and most d istant transmitters).

RDS FUNCTION Using the RDS (Radio Data System) function on FM
RDS allows you to c ontinue to listen to the same station, whatever freq uenc y it is using for the reg ion you are g oing
throug h.
Switc h the func tion on or off b y b riefly p ressing the ÒRDSÓb utton.
RDS station following
The d isp lay ind ic ates the name of the station selec ted . The rad io is c ontinually searc hing for the station whic h has the
b est rec ep tion and whic h is transmitting the same p rog ramme.

Traffic information programme
Press the ÒTAÓb utton to switc h the func tion on or off.
Any traffic information flash will b e b road c ast as a p riority, whether you are using the rad io, CD, CD multi-c hang er.
If you wish to interrup t a messag e, p ress the ÒTAÓb utton; this switc hes off the func tion.
Note : the volume of the traffic information announcements is independent of the volume of normal radio lis-
tening. You can adjust it using the volume button. The setting will be stored and will be used when the nextmessages are broadcast.
While traffic information is b eing b road c ast, the d isp lay will alternately show ÒTRAFFICÓand the name of the station.
When the station selec ted c annot b road c ast traffic information, the d isp lay shows ÒNO TAÓ.
Regional following mode (REG)
When they are p art of a network, c ertain stations b road c ast reg ional p rog rammes in the various areas they serve.
With reg ional following mod e you c an keep listening to the same p rog ramme.
To d o this p ress the ÒRDSÓb utton for more than two sec ond s to switc h this func tion on or off.
PTY function
This allows you to listen to stations b road c asting a sp ec ific typ e of p rog ramme (news, c ulture, sp ort, roc k etc .).
With FM selec ted , p ress the ÒTAÓb utton for two sec ond s to switc h this func tion on or off.
To find a PTY p rog ramme:
Ð switc h on the PTYfunc tion,
Ð b riefly p ress b utton ÒGÓor ÒHÓ to sc roll d own the list of the various typ es of p rog rammes offered ,

c arry out an automatic searc h (after an automatic searc h the PTY func tion is switc hed off).
In PTY mod e the d ifferent typ es of p rog rammes c an b e stored in memory. To d o this, p ress d own the p reselec tion b ut-
tons Ò1Óto Ò6Ó for more than two sec ond s. Rec alling the typ e of p rog ramme stored in the memory is b y a b rief p ress
