electronic codes need to be
reset.
MaintenanceNOTE•Make sure the battery is
installed with the correct pole
facing upward. Battery leakage
could occur if it is not installed
correctly.
• When replacing the battery, be
careful not to bend the
electrical terminals or get oil on
them. Also be careful not to get
dirt in the remote control unit
as it could damage it.

immobilizer system or the key, consult

electronic code. For this reason,
and to assure your safety,
replacement keys require some
waiting time to obtain. They are
only available through an
Authorized Mazda Dealer.
• Always keep a replacement
key, in case one is lost. If a key
is lost, contact an Authorized
Mazda Dealer as soon as
possible.

Mazda Dealer will reset the
electronic codes of your
remaining keys and the
immobilizer system. Starting
the vehicle with a key that has
not been reset is not possible.

Follow either of these procedures.
• Press and hold RESUME/ACCEL
switch. Release the switch when
the desire speed is reached. •
Accelereate to the desired speed,
then press SET/COAST switch and
release.
Your vehicle has a “tap-up” feature
that allows you to increase your
current speed in increments of 1.6
km/h (1 mph) by a momentary tap of
the RESUME/ACCEL switch.
Multiple taps will increase your
vehicle speed 1.6 km/h (1 mph) for
each tap. For example, if you are
currently set at 96 km/h (60 mph) and
tap the RESUME/ACCEL switch 5
times, your vehicle speed will increase
and set at 104 km/h (65 mph).

When this mode is selected, ODO will
be displayed.
The odometer records the total
distance the vehicle has been driven.

Trip meter B Trip meter
The trip meter can record the total
distance of two trips. One is recorded
in trip meter A, and the other is
recorded in trip meter B. For instance, trip meter A can record
the distance from the point of origin,
and trip meter B can record the distance
from where the fuel tank is filled.
When trip meter A is selected,
pressing the selector again within one
second will change the trip meter to B
mode.
When trip meter A is selected, TRIP A
will be displayed. When trip meter B
is selected, TRIP B will be displayed.
The trip meter records the total
distance the vehicle is driven until the
meter is again reset. Return it to “0.0”
by holding the selector depressed for
more than 1 second.

1. Press the audio control knob to select bass, mid-range, treble, fade
or balance control. The selected
function will be indicated.
NOTEAbout 5 seconds after selecting
any mode, the volume function
will be automatically selected. To
reset bass, treble, fade, and
balance, press and hold the audio
control knob for 2 seconds. The
unit will beep and “CL” will be
displayed.
