nut cover

emove the cover with the plastic spanner supplied with
the spare wheel jacking equipment.
2. Loosen
, but do not
remove wheel nuts.
3. Raise vehicle and support on st ands. Refer to Section 100-02.
4. R
emove wheel and tire assembly.
1. Remove wheel nuts.
2. Remove wheel.
1. CAUTION: Do not allow grease to contaminate the wheel
stud threads and wheel nut to wh eel mating surface, as this may
cause the nuts to loosen.
• NOTE: To prevent the wheel corroding on to the hub, smear a
thin layer of grease onto the hub mounting face and spigot; and
wheel mounting face and spigot hole.

BRUSH. DO NOT USE A COMPRE SSED-AIR LINE TO DISPERSE
BRAKE DUST INTO THE ATMOSPHERE. Failure to follow this

• CAUTIONS:
Brake pads must always be replaced in axle sets.
Replacement of nuts and bolts: Various thread-locking
devices are used on nuts and bolts throughout the vehicle. These
devices restrict the number of ti mes a nut or bolt can be used.

The High Performance brake ca liper is aligned to the brake
disc when it is first installed to the vehicle, therefore, care must
be taken not to disturb this alignment. When removing the
caliper; remove the bolts that se cure the anchor bracket to the
vertical link only. DO NOT loosen any other caliper bolts.
Open engine compartment and fit paint work protection covers
to fenders.

3. Remove front wheels. Refer to operation.

4. CAUTI
ON: Remove brake flui
d spillage immediately from
paint work, with clean water.
Loosen brake fluid reservoir-cap.
Position a cloth around the
reservoir to collect any fluid
spillage.
5. Remove brake
pads from caliper.
1. Remove 'R' clips.
2. Withdraw pins from caliper.
3. Remove anti-rattle spring.
4. Discard brake pads.

1. Install pads.
2. Position anti-rattle spring.
3. Install pins.
4. Install 'R' clips.
4. Repeat above procedure to install opposite side brake pads.
5. Fit wheels.

2. Raise the rear of the vehicle bo dy and support on two stands,
located under the re ar jacking points.
3. Disc
onnect the intermediate
muffler from the rear muffler.
Slacken the securi
ng clamp, re
ar muffler to intermediate
muffler and separate the in termediate muffler from the
rear muffler.
4. Move the front muf f
ler forwar
d to allow the intermediate
muffler to be removed.

n the securing clamps (left-hand and right-hand
sides) front muffler to downpipe catalytic converters.
Move the front muf f
ler
assembly forward.
5. Re
move the intermediate muffler.
Sl
acken the securi
ng clamp, front muffler to intermediate
muffler and separate the in termediate muffler from the
front muffler.
6. Remove the muffler assembly from the axle carrier and from
the over-axle mounting rubber.

NO TE
: If necessary, loosen and rotate the intermediate
muffler, at the front to intermediate muffler joint, to achieve the
tailpipe trim settings. Refer to Specifications in this section.
Correctly position the rear muffler assembly.
Connect the rear muffl
er to the intermediate muffler and
insert to the Nominal indicator ring, rotating back and
forth to aid engagement.
Chec k
that the mounting is located correctly into the
mounting rubber.
Chec k
that the tailpi
pe position is wi thin the specified
settings, adjusting engageme nt within the Maximum and
Minimum indicator rings if necessary. Refer to
Specifications in this section.
6. Tigh te
n the securing clamp, in
termediate muffler to rear
muffler.
7. Remove the axle stands from be neath the rear jacking points.
8. Lower the ramp.
