2. Fit the chain separating tool (1) with the pressu re screw (2) at the chain link to the right of the
copper plate on the timing chain (4).
See new timing chain.
3. Screw in the guide sleeve (3) of the pressu re screw (2) till it touches the chain link.
Ensure that the guide sleeve (3) is located above the clinch bolt of the chain link.
4. Screw in the pressure screw (2) and separate the timing chain (4).
5. Remove the pressure screw (2).
6. Remove the chain separating tool (1)a nd fit it at the second clinch bolt.
7. Repeat steps 3, 4 and 5 at the second clinch bolt.
Do not let the pushed out clinch bolts a nd plates to fall into the crankcase.
8. Remove the chain separatin
g tool (1).

1. Place assembly insert (1) with the digit F1 in to the riveting tool (2)and secure with bolt (3).

6. Place a cloth be low timing chain.
7. Position riveting tool (2) so that timing chai n is resting on the spacer bars (arrow).
8. Tighten spindle (7) until a firm resistance is felt.
While turning the spindle (7) ensure that the pins of the riveted link are inserted into the holes of the
outer plate.
9. Remove rivet press tool (2).

10. Turn over moving assembly in sert (4) with the digit D5 to the riveting section (arrow).

11. Position riveting tool (2) exactly above the middle of the pins (arrow).
12. Tighten spindle (7)fully at riveting tool (2).
Tightening torque of spindle: Reference value approx. 30 to 35 Nm.
13. Rivet pins of the ri veted link individually.

14. Check riveting (arrows), re-rivet if necessary.
15. Fit on camshaft sprocket (6).
Pay attention to tightening torque of camshaft sprocket.

1. Connect the new timing chain (1) and the old timing chain (2) with the assembly link (3) (arrow).
Do not use an assembly plate and an assembly reta iner. While drawing in the new timing chain (1), the
assembly retainer can get jammed and jump off at the slide rails.
2. Slowly rotate crankshaft in direct ion of rotation of engine until the ends of the new timing chain (1) can
be connected.
