Jos ajoneuvoanne joudutaan hinaamaan , kiinnittakaa huomiota seuraaviin seikkoihin:
(1) Siirtakaa vaihde (kasivaihteisto) tai valitsinvipu (auto­maattivaihteisto) vapaalle tai "N " -asentoon. (2) Siirtakaa vaihdevipu asentoon "2H". (3) Ajoneuvoissa joissa on takatasauspybrastbn lukkojar­
jestolmii, asetetaan lukkokytkin OFF-asentoon. (4) Alkaa ylittakb laillista hinausnopeutta .
Lisiiksi jos auto on seuraavantyyppinen, varmistakaa, etta
alia ilmoitettua hinausnopeutta j a -matkaa ei kosk aan
yliteta .
Autot joissa on automaattinen vaihteisto
Hinausnopeus: 30 km/h
Hinausmatka: 30 km
(5) Jos vaihteisto on vaurioitunut, tai jos automaattivaih­
teistolla varustettua ajoneuvoa taytyy hinata enemman
kuin 30 km, hinatkaa takapybrat ylbsnostettuina. (6) Kaiintiikaa virta-avain "ACe -tai "ON" -asentoon , jolloin
ohjauspybra vapautuu. (7) Kytkekaa nelivilkku paalle. (8) Pitakaa hinauksen aikana huoli siita, etta ajoneuvojen kuljettajat pysyvat jatkuvasti yhteydessa toisiinsa ja etta ajoneuvojen nopeus pysyy alhaisena . Valttakaa akillista liikkeellelahtba ja pysahtymi sta koska ne saattavat aiheut­
taa ajoneuvojen tbrmaamisen toisiinsa. (9) Koska moottori ei kay, jarrutehostin ja ohjaustehostimen pumppu eivat toimi. Tama tarkoittaa sita, etta vaaditaan

If your vehicle is to be towed, pay careful attention to the following points:
(1) Move the gearshift lever (manual transmission) or the
selector lever (automatic transmission) to neutral or the "N".
(2) Move the transfer shift lever to "2H" position. (3) Vehicles with rear differential lock system , turn off the rear
differantial lock switch. (4) Be sure the towing speed is within the legal limit. In addition, if the vehicle is of the following type , make sure that the towing speed and distance given below are never
exceeded .
Vehicles
with an automatic transmission Towing speed : 30 km/h (19 mph ) Towing distance : 30 km (19 miles)
(5) If the transmission is malfunctioning or damaged , or if a
vehicle with an automatic transmission must be towed farther than 30 km (19 miles), tow the vehicle with the rear
wheels raised off the ground. (6) Turn the ignition switch to the "ACe or "ON" position to unlock the steering wheel. (7) Turn on the hazard warning lamps . (8) During towing make sure that close contact is maintained between the drivers of both vehicles, and that the vehicles travel at low speed. Avoid abrupt starting or stopping which might subject the vehicles to shock . (9) As the engine is not running, the brake booster and power steering pump do not operate . This means higher brak e
depression force and higher steering effort are required.
Th erefore, operation is more
difficult than usual.
