Power Lumbar
Lumbar Control Feature
If you have this feature, you can change the shape of the driver and
passenger seats.
It works independently of the other seat controls. Use the
power seat control first to get the proper position. Then proceed with the
lumbar adjustment.
The lumbar control switch is located on the outboard side of each of the
front seats.
To reshape the seatback, move the switch forward to increase support
or rearward to decrease seatback support.
Move the switch up or down to raise or lower the support mechanism
to 'suit your preference.

The control panel is located in the center console.
This feature
is designed primarily for use on damp and chilly days. The
LO setting warms the seatback and cushion until the seat approximates
body temperature.
On colder days, the HI setting heats the seats to an
even higher temperature.
To prevent uncomfortable overheating of the
seats, the heating elements are thermostatically regulated to automatically
maintain the temperature at
the selected setting. A telltale light in the
control switch reminds you that the heating system is in use. To preserve
the battery, the heated seats can only be used
when the ignition is turned
on, and are deactivated when the ignition is turned off.
Head Restraints
Slide the head restraint up or down so that the top of the restraint is
closest to the top of your ears. This position reduces the chance of a neck
injury
in a crash.

Adults
This part is only for people of adult size.
Be aware that there are special things to know about safety belts and
children. And there are different rules for smaller children an\
d babies.
If
a child will be riding in your Cadillac, see the part of this manual called
“Children.” Follow those rules for everyone’s protection.
First, you’ll want to know which restraint systems your vehicle has.
We’ll start
with the driver position.
DRMTR POSITION
This part describes the driver’s restraint system.
Lap-Shoulder Belt
The driver has a lap-shoulder belt. Here’s how to wear it properly.
1. Close and lock the door.
2. Adjust the seat (to see how, see “Seats” in the Index) so you can sit up
straight.

Securing a Child Restraint in the Right Front Seat
Position
Your vehicle has a right front passenger air bag. Never put a rear-facing
child restraint in this seat. Here’s
why:
You’ll be using the lap-shoulder belt. See the earlier part about the top
strap
if the child restraint has one.
1. Because your vehicle has a right front passenger air bag, always move
the seat as far back as it will go before securing a forward-facing child
restraint. (See “Seats”
in the Index.)

Your automatic transaxle may have either a shift lever located on the
steering column or
on the console between the seats.

There are several different positions for your shift lever.
PARK (P): This locks your front wheels. It's the best position to use when
you start your engine because your vehicle can't move easily.

Things you put inside your vehicle can strike and injure people
in a sudden stop or turn, or in a crash.
0 Put things in the trunk of your vehicle. In a trunk, put them
as far forward as you can. ‘Ry to spread the weight evenly.
Never stack heavier things, like suitcases, inside the vehicle
so that some of them are above the tops of the seats.
Don’t leave an unsecured child restraint in your vehicle.
When you carry something inside the vehicle, secure it
whenever you can.
TOWING A TRAILER
A CAUTION:
If you don’t use the correct equipment and drive properIy, you
can lose control when you pull a trailer. For example, if the
trailer
is too heavy, the brakes may not work well -- or even at
all. You and your passengers could be seriously injured. Pull a
trailer only if you have followed all the steps in this section. Ask
your Cadillac dealer for advice and information about towing a
trailer with your vehicle.
