OIL SEAL (REAR MAIN)

Replacement

The rear main bearing oil seal can be replaced (both

halves) without removal of the crankshaft.

NOTE:
 Always replace the upper and lower

seal as a

an extent that the return spring can no longer push

the plunger back up to working position. Probable

causes are:

a. Excessive varnish or carbon deposit causing ab-

normal stickiness
