Floor jack
When using a floor jack, follow the instructions in the manual pro-
vided with the jack and perform the operation safety.
When raising your vehicle with a floor jack, position the jack cor-
rectly.
Improper placement may damage your vehicle or cause injury.

If you have a flat tire
Replace the flat tire with the supplied spare tire.
(See P. 327 for more information about tires)
WARNING
⬛If you have a flat tire
Do not drive with a flat tire.
Even over short distances, the tires an d wheels can be irreparably damaged or
cause an accident.
Before lifting the vehicle with a jack
⚫Move the vehicle to a hard, flat, safe location
⚫Apply the parking brake
⚫For continuously variable transmission vehicles, set the shift lever to P
⚫For vehicles with manual transmission, set the shift lever to R
⚫Stop the engine
⚫Turn the emergency flashers on

⬛Using the jack
Observe the following precautions.
Improper use of the jack may cause the vehicle to suddenly fall off the jack,
leading to death or serious injury.
⚫Do not use the jack for any purpose ot her than replacing tires or installing
and removing tire chains
⚫The jack provided can be used only for this vehicle. Do not use it on other
vehicles, and do not use other jacks for replacing tires on this vehicle
⚫The jack should be properly hooked to the jack setting position (between 2
notches)
⚫Do not put any part of your body unde r the vehicle while it is supported by
the jack

WARNING
⚫Do not start the engine or drive the ve hicle while the vehicle is supported by
the jack
⚫Do not raise the vehicle while someone is inside
⚫When raising the vehicle, do not put an object on or under the jack
⚫Do not raise the vehicle to a height greater than that required to replace the
tire
⚫Use a jack stand if it is necessary to get under the vehicle
⚫When lowering the vehicle, make sure that there is no-one near the vehicle.
If there are people nearby, warn them vocally before lowering
Procedure to take out jacks and tools

forward and partly remove its

⬛Storing the jack
After use, return the jack to its or iginal position and fix it securely.
⬛Putting the tools back in storage
aPlace the wheel nut wrench, jack
handle, and towing eyelet in the
tool bag, and secure the bag with
rubber bands, as shown in the
illustration
b Fasten the hook and loop strips
on the tool bag to its original posi-
tion on the floor surface, as shown
in the illustration
Procedure to take out the spare tire
aRemove the deck board ( ➞P. 271)
b Remove the nut and take out the
spare tire

⬛Storing the spare tire
Be careful not to get your fingers or other parts of your body caught between
the vehicle body and the spare tire.

Replacing flat tires
aPlace wheel chocks on the
wheels
b Remove the wheel ornament*
*For steel wheels only
⦁To prevent damage, wrap a cloth etc.
around the tip of the jack handle to
protect it.
⦁ Remove the wheel ornament by
inserting the jack handle into one of
its solid portions (ribs).
⦁ Support the wheel ornament with
one hand to prevent it from flying
off.
c Slightly loosen the nut (about 1
turn)
