Trickle Charger Indicators:
A ICCB plug to a 120VAC outlet
B
Power – When the charger and AC plug is plugged in and functioning normally, the indicator will turn green Indicator is red if plug temperature sensor warning is present
C Charge – Indicates that the vehicle is charging
D Fault – Indicates charge failure
E Charge Level – Indicates the level of charge: L (8A), M (10A), or H (12 A)
F ICCB – In-Cable Control Box
AC Level 2 Charger – “Normal” Charge
A Level 2 or “normal” 240-volt charger is the recommended charging system for the Plug-In Hybrid This type of charger uses 240 volts of electricity and takes approximately 3 5+ hours for a full charge (Based on Kia Motors Corporation testing with SAE J1772 charger per formed at 3 3kW) This charger may be able to be installed at your home or found at a public charging station

Blind-spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA)†3
BCA uses rear corner radar sensors in the rear bumper to monitor and warn the driver in certain situations if it detects an approaching vehicle in the driver ’s blind spot area and before changing lanes Initially, BCA provides a Collision Warning when it detects a potential collision with a vehicle, emitting an audible warning and visual alert on the outside rearview mirrors If BCA detects that the collision risk has increased, BCA automatically applies the opposite side front brake to try and mitigate a potential collision
Vehicle detection: When another vehicle is detected within BCW warning boundary A, an indicator will illuminate on the outside rearview mirrors B
Collision warning: When vehicle detection warning is on and the driver activates a turn signal, a flashing indicator will illuminate on the outside rearview mirrors and BCA will sound a warning
Collision-Avoidance Assist: When collision warning has already occurred, and the collision risk has increased, braking is applied to the opposite side front wheel and a visual warning occurs When you are driving forward out of a parking space, if BCA determines that there is a collision risk with an approaching vehicle in the blind spot, BCA will help avoid a collision by applying the brake
BCA Settings:
•BCA can be turned on/off by going to the User Settings* in the Instrument Cluster or the Vehicle Settings* in the Infotainment System
•Only adjust settings when the vehicle is at a standstill, gear shift is in Park and the ignition is on or the Engine Start/Stop button* in the on position
•To access User settings* in the Instrument Cluster - Press the Mode button C on the Steering Wheel to toggle to User Settings Press the OK D up/down to toggle to DRIVER ASSISTANCE, then BLIND-SPOT SAFET Y and select a BCA mode
•To access Vehicle settings* in the Infotainment System – Press the SETUP key or the onscreen SETUP button Press VEHICLE to enter Vehicle Settings Select DRIVER ASSISTANCE, then BLIND-SPOT SAFET Y and select a BCA mode
•BCA Modes – Select one of the following:
- Active Assist: BCA will provide a warning (audible & visual) and may activate Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and temporarily apply braking power
- Warning Only: Vehicle will provide a warning only (audible & visual)
- Off: BCA is off, no warnings provided
•Warning Timing – When in the DRIVER ASSISTANCE menu, select WARNING TIMING and one of the following:
-
Standard: Maximizes the amount of distance between the vehicles before the initial warning occurs
- Late: Reduces the amount of distance between the vehicles before the initial warning occurs
REMINDERS:
•
When BCA is ON and the ignition is cycled, BCA returns to its previous state
•
BCA may sound when making a left turn Maintain a proper distance from oncoming vehicles
Refer to section 6 in the Owner ’s Manual for more information
•The Warning Volume can be adjusted in the User Set tings in the Instrument Cluster (Go to Driver Assistance, then Warning Volume) or the Vehicle Set tings* on the Infotainment System Go to Driver Assistance, Warning Method, then Warning Volume
•BCA will activate when: -BCA is turned on -
Other vehicles are detected on the rear sides of the vehicle -Collision Warning is above approximately 12 mph; Collision-Avoidance Assist is above approximately 40 mph

Rear Occupant Alert (ROA) with Ultrasonic Sensors†3
Rear Occupant Alert (ROA) with Ultrasonic Sensors can help alert the driver when rear passenger(s) are left in the rear seats using the ultrasonic sensors and door monitoring The system is designed to provide three separate alerts:
•The 1st alert is a message on the Instrument Cluster, “Check Rear Seats” A, and a chime will sound
After the 1st alert, when the doors are locked and there is movement detected in the rear seats, the horn will sound for about 25 seconds This alert may activate up to eight times within 24 hours, if movement is still detected and system has not been disabled
•If you have installed the Kia Access app on your smartphone, logged in and activated the Rear Occupant Alert notification, a third alert (notification) will be sent to your phone
To turn the system on or off, in the Instrument Cluster or infotainment system, go to Settings, select Convenience, and then Rear Occupant Alert
Rear Occupant with Ultrasonic Sensors activates under the following conditions:
•A rear passenger door is opened and closed
•The ignition has been turned off
•The driver ’s door has been opened, then closed
•The doors are locked with the Smart Key or the door lock button on the door handle
Rear Occupant Aler t is not a substitute for one’s at tention and may not detect all movement within the vehicle Always check the vehicle’s interior before exiting
Check rear seats
: Alarm OffOK
REMINDERS:
•
To avoid false aler ts, make sure the vehicle’s windows are rolled up
•
If objects such as boxes are stacked in front of the ultrasonic sensors, the system may not detect any movement
•
The ultrasonic sensors may occasionally detect movement in the vehicle and cause false aler ts, when there are no rear occupants present
False aler ts can occur due to:
-The presence of insects near the system sensor
-Rushing air from a window that is rolled down
-Movement around the exterior of the vehicle
-Surrounding noise or vibration
-Vehicle passing through a car wash
-Movement in the driver or front passenger seat is detected
•
The Rear Occupant Aler t with Ultrasonic Sensors system may fail to detect movement and activate an alarm if:
-Movement is subtle or does not continue
-A small child sits directly in a seat without a car seat
-
A rear passenger is covered with an object such as a blanket, obstructing the sensor ’s view
