Convenient features
- If the light switch is pushed away
when High Beam Assist is operating,
High Beam Assist will turn off.
- If the light switch is pulled towards
you when the high beam is off, the
high beam will turn on. When you let
go of the light switch, the lever will
move to the middle and the high beam
will turn off.
- If the light switch is pulled towards
you when the high beam is on by High
Beam Assist, and High Beam Assist
will turn off.
- If the light switch is placed to the
headlight position (
), High Beam
Assist will turn off and the low beam
will be on continuously.
When High Beam Assist is operating, the
high beam switches to low beam in the
following conditions.
- When the headlight of an on-coming
vehicle is detected.
- When the tail light of a vehicle in front
is detected.
- When the headlight or tail light of a
motorcycle or a bicycle is detected.
- When the surrounding ambient light is
bright enough that high beams are not
required.
- When streetlights or other lights are
detected.
- When the light switch is not in the
AUTO position.
- When High Beam Assist is off.
- When the vehicle speed is below 19
mph (30 km/h).

When High Beam Assist is not working
properly, the warning message will come
on for a few seconds. After the message
disappears, the master warning light

vehicle to a HYUNDAI authorised
repairer and have the system checked.

The system may not operate normally if

occur:

Good driving practices
[ Never take the vehicle out of gear and
coast down a hill. This is extremely
hazardous. Always leave the vehicle
in gear.
[ Don’t “ride” the brakes. This can cause
them to overheat and malfunction.
Instead, when you are driving down a
long hill, shift to a lower gear. When
you do this, the engine braking will
help slow down the vehicle.
[ Slow down before shifting to a lower
gear. This will help avoid over-revving
the engine, which can cause damage.
[ Slow down when you encounter cross
winds. This gives you much better
control of your vehicle.
[ Be sure the vehicle is completely
stopped before you attempt to shift
into reverse. The transmission can be
damaged if you do not.
[ Exercise extreme caution when driving
on a slippery surface. Be especially
