[Driver Attention Warning may
suggest a break depending on the
driver’s driving pattern or habits,
even if the driver doesn’t feel
fatigued.

[ Driver Attention Warning is a
supplemental function and may not
be able to determine whether the
driver is inattentive.

[ A driver who feels fatigued should
take a break at a safe location, even
though there is no break suggestion
by Driver Attention Warning.
Information

[You may change settings from the
infotainment system ( ehicle Settings),
whichever option that is provided with
your vehicle. For more details, see
ehicle Settings section in supplied
Infotainment Manual.

last break time to 00:00 in the following
situations:
- The engine is turned off
- The driver unfastens the seat belt
and opens the driver s door
- The vehicle is stopped for more than
10 minutes

Smart Cruise Control
Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control
may not operate properly under the
following circumstances:

[ Map information is not transmitted
due to infotainment system's
abnormal operation

[ Speed limit and road information in
the navigation is not updated

[ The map information and the actual
road is different because of real-time
GPS data or map information error

[ The navigation searches for a route
while driving

[ GPS signals are blocked in areas such
as a tunnel

roads and joins again

Information

[ As it is normal for engine oil to be consumed during driving, the engine oil level should
be checked on regular basis.

[ The engine oil change interval for normal operating conditions is based on the use of
the recommended engine specification. If the recommended engine oil specification
is not used, then replace the engine oil according to the maintenance schedule under
severe operating conditions.

[ For 2.0 T-GDI engine : The vehicle may be e uipped with the Oil ife Management
System that predicts engine oil life based on the driver s driving history and alerts the
driver to change engine oil.
- If the deterioration of the engine oil increases depending on the driver s driving
severity, the remaining oil life alert appears on the instrument cluster before the
normal engine oil replacement interval. ave the engine oil and filter changed by an
authori ed distributor of Genesis Branded product.
- Oil ife Management System works when the recommended engine oil is used.
So, if recommended engine oil is not used, replace the engine oil according to the
maintenance schedule under severe usage condition.
Also, check the amount of engine oil regularly as this system assumes that the engine
oil is being filled normally.
- Always reset the remaining engine oil life whenever the engine oil is changed.
Otherwise, The indication of remaining Oil life in the Oil ife Management System
may not be accurate.
To reset the Oil Change Reminder, select RESET from the infotainment system
screen. Then, select Yes when the message Changed engine oil Press Yes to reset
the oil life. appears on the screen.
- If there is no alert until the maximum maintenance interval, have the vehicle
checked by an authori ed distributor of Genesis Branded product.

Battery Usage
Recommendations

[Keep the battery securely mounted.

[ Keep the battery top clean and dry.

[ Keep the terminals and connections
clean, tight, and coated with
petroleum jelly or terminal grease.

[ Rinse any spilled electrolyte from the
battery immediately with a solution of
water and baking soda.

[ If the vehicle is not going to be used
for an extended time, disconnect the
battery cables.
Battery Replacement

When replacing the battery, disconnect
the negative (-) cable (1) and remove the
positive (+) battery fuse box (2). Remove
the trunk panel and spare wheel. Place
the spare wheel on the floor with the
finished side up so as not to damage.
Then remove the spare wheel bracket
(3) followed by the battery hold down
mounting bracket (4).
WARNING
Do not touch the vehicle's
lower area of the trunk
when the engine is running
or hot. It may cause serious
injury. Turn the engine OFF
and wait until the area is
cooled before replacing the
battery.
Information
For vehicles with power trunks, note that
the power trunk needs to be reset after
the battery has been replaced. For more
details, refer to Power Trunk section in
chapter 5.
NOTICE
Make sure the battery is installed
securely when the it is replaced. If the
battery vibrates while driving, the case
and electrode plate can be damaged.

By jump starting
After a jump start from a good battery,
drive the vehicle for 20-30 minutes
before it is shutoff. The vehicle may
not restart if you shut it off before the
battery had a chance to adequately
recharge. See “Jump Starting” in chapter
8 for more information on jump starting
procedures.

battery can be harmful to the
environment and human health.
Dispose of the battery according
to your local law(s) or regulation.
