
Panic Alarm (If Equipped)
The alarm can be activated using theremote control.
Triggering the Alarm
•If someone opens a door or the hoodwithout a valid key or remote control.
•If you switch the ignition on without avalid key.
If the alarm sounds, the alarm horn soundsfor 30 seconds and the hazard warninglamps flash for five minutes.
Any further attempts to carry out one ofthe above will sound the alarm again.
Arming the Alarm
Press the lock button once to lock yourvehicle and arm the alarm.
Disarming the Alarm
Disarm the alarm by any of the followingactions:
•Unlock the doors with the key andswitch the ignition on with a correctlycoded key within 12 seconds.
•Unlock the doors or luggagecompartment using the remote control.

ADJUSTING THE STEERING

DAYTIME RUNNING LAMPS
WARNING: The daytime runninglamps system does not activate the rearlamps and may not provide adequatelighting during low visibility drivingconditions. Make sure you switch theheadlamps on, as appropriate, during alllow visibility conditions. Failure to do somay result in a crash.
The system turns the lamps on in daylightconditions.
To switch the system on, switch thelighting control to any position exceptheadlamps.
AUTOMATIC HIGH BEAM
CONTROL
WARNING: The system does notrelieve you of your responsibility to drivewith due care and attention. You mayneed to override the system if it does notturn the high beams on or off.
The system turns on high beams if it is darkenough and no other traffic is present. If itdetects an approaching vehicle’sheadlamps or tail lamps, or street lightingahead, the system turns off high beamsbefore they can distract other road users.Low beams remain on.
Note:The system may not operate properlyif the sensor is blocked. Keep the windshieldfree from obstruction or damage.
Note:The system may not operate properlyin cold or inclement conditions. You canswitch on the high beams by overriding thesystem.

Note:If the system detects a blockage, forexample bird droppings, bug splatter, snowor ice, the system goes into low beam modeuntil you clear the blockage. A message mayappear in the information display if thecamera is blocked.
Note:Using much larger tires or equippingvehicle accessories such as snowplows canmodify your vehicle's ride height anddegrade automatic high beam controlperformance.
A camera sensor, centrally mountedbehind the windshield of your vehicle,continuously monitors conditions to turnthe high beams on and off.
Once the system is active, the high beamsturn on if:
•The ambient light level is low enough.
•There is no traffic in front of yourvehicle.
•The vehicle speed is greater thanapproximately 32 mph (51 km/h).
The system turns the high beams off if:
•The ambient light level is high enoughthat high beams are not required.
•The system detects an approachingvehicle's headlamps or tail lamps.
•The vehicle speed falls belowapproximately 27 mph (44 km/h).
•The system detects severe rain, snowor fog.
•The camera is blocked.
Switching the System On and Off
Switch the system on using the informationdisplay. See Information Displays (page96).
Switch the lighting control to theautolamps position. See Autolamps(page 78).
Overriding the System
Push the lever away from you to switchbetween high beam and low beam.
Automatic High Beam Indicator
The indicator illuminates toconfirm when the system isready to assist.
FRONT FOG LAMPS
Using the Front Fog Lamps
To switch the lamps on or off:
1.Set the lighting control to the parkinglamps, headlamps or autolampsposition.
Note:When the lighting control is in theautolamps position, you cannot switch thefog lamps on unless the low beamheadlamps are on.

Press the button on thelighting control to switch the front foglamps on or off.
Note:Only switch the front fog lamps onduring reduced visibility.

DIRECTION INDICATORS
Switching the Direction IndicatorsOn and Off
Push the lever up or down to switch thedirection indicators on.
Note:Tap the lever up or down to make thedirection indicators flash three times.
Set the lever to the middle position toswitch the direction indicators off.
Direction Indicator
Flashes when you switch thedirection indicators on.
Note:An increase in the rate of flashingwarns of a failed indicator bulb.

If you set the switch to the door position,the courtesy lamp illuminates when youunlock or open any door. If you leave a dooropen with the ignition switched off, thecourtesy lamp goes off after some time toprevent your vehicle battery from losingcharge. To switch it back on, switch theignition on for a short time.
The courtesy lamp also illuminates whenyou switch the ignition off. It goes off aftera short time or when you start the engine.
If you set the switch to the all on positionwith the ignition switched off, the courtesylamp illuminates. It goes off after a shorttime to prevent your vehicle battery fromlosing charge. To switch it back on, switchthe ignition on for a short time.

Press the control to lock or unlock the rearwindow controls.
Resetting the Memory of theElectric Windows - Vehicle withOne Touch Up/Down on DriverSide only
Note:The bounce back feature remainsturned off until you reset the memory.
In the event of a flat battery or after thebattery is disconnected from the vehicle,you must reset the memory for the driverwindow.
1.Open the window and then try to closeit using the one-touch feature.
2.Lift and hold the switch to the secondaction point until you fully close thewindow.
3.Lift and hold the switch for more thantwo seconds and release.
4.Open the window using the first actionpoint and try to close it automaticallyusing the second action point.
5.If the window does not open or closeautomatically when you press theswitch or lift it to the second actionpoint, repeat the procedure.
Safety Mode
Note:The anti-trap function is not activeduring this procedure.
If the system detects a malfunction, itenters a safety mode. The windows movea little at a time and then stop again. Closethe windows by pressing the switch againwhen the windows stop moving.
Contact an authorized dealer.
Bounce-Back
The window automatically stops andreverses some distance if it detects anobstacle when closing.
Overriding the Bounce-Back Feature
WARNING: If you overridebounce-back, the window does notreverse if it detects an obstacle. Takecare when closing the windows to avoidpersonal injury or damage to yourvehicle.
Proceed as follows to override thisprotection feature when there is aresistance, for example in winter:
1.Close the window twice until it reachesthe point of resistance and let itreverse.
2.Close the window a third time to thepoint of resistance. The bounce-backfeature is now disabled and you canclose the window manually. Thewindow will go past the point ofresistance and you can close it fully.
See an authorized dealer as soon aspossible if the window does not close afterthe third attempt.
Resetting the Bounce-Back Feature
Note:The bounce-back feature remainsturned off until you reset the memory.

Power-Folding Mirrors (If Equipped)
The power folding mirrors operate with theignition on.
Note:The mirrors no longer operate if youswitch the ignition off.
Press the button to fold the mirrors inward.
Release the button to stop and reverse thedirection of movement, or to fold themirrors outward.
Loose Mirror
If you manually fold your power-foldingmirrors, they may not work properly evenafter you re-position them. You need toreset them if:
•The mirrors vibrate when you drive.
•The mirrors feel loose.
•The mirrors do not stay in the folded orunfolded position.
•One of the mirrors is not in its normaldriving position.
To reset the power-fold feature:
1.Push the mirrors fully forward.
2.Press the mirror folding switch andguide the mirror to detent point, youwill hear a click at this point.
3.Let the mirror fold toward your vehicleon its own.
4.Verify by pressing the mirror foldingswitch to fold mirrors inward and backout 2 or 3 times.
Note:You may hear a loud noise as youreset the power-folding mirrors. This soundis normal. Repeat this process as neededeach time you manually fold the mirrors.
Heated Exterior Mirrors (If Equipped)
The heated exterior mirrors will removeice, mist and fog. See Heated RearWindow (page 122).
Signal Indicator Mirrors (If Equipped)
The outer portion of the appropriate mirrorhousing blinks when you switch on thedirection indicator.
Puddle Lamps (If Equipped)
The lamps on the bottom part of the mirrorhousing light when you use yourtransmitter to unlock the doors or whenyou open a door.
Blind Spot Information System (If
Equipped)
See Blind Spot Information System(page 206).

Manual Dimming Mirror
Pull the tab below the mirror toward youto reduce the effect of bright light frombehind.
Automatic Dimming Mirror (If Equipped)
The mirror dims to reduce the effect ofbright light from behind. It returns tonormal when the bright light from behindis no longer present or if you shift intoreverse (R).
Do not block the sensors on the front andback of the mirror.
Note:A rear center passenger or raised rearcenter head restraint could prevent lightfrom reaching the sensor.
SUN VISORS
Rotate the sun visor toward the sidewindow and extend it rearward for extrashade.
Illuminated Vanity Mirror (If Equipped)
Lift the cover to switch the lamp on.
