Adaptive Cruise Control
Adaptive cruise control uses a radar sensorto adjust your vehicle speed to maintain aset gap between you and the vehicle infront of you in the same lane.

When Following a Vehicle
WARNING: When following avehicle that is braking, your vehicle doesnot always decelerate quickly enough toavoid a crash without driver intervention.Apply the brakes when necessary. Failureto follow this instruction could result inpersonal injury or death.
Hilly Condition Usage
You should select a lower gear when thesystem is active in situations such asprolonged downhill driving on steep slopes,for example in mountainous areas. Thesystem needs additional engine braking inthese situations to reduce the load on thevehicle’s regular brake system to preventit from overheating.

Note:To optimize off-road drivingperformance, the system disables the brakeover accelerator feature when in off-roadmodes, including mud/ruts, sand, baja androck crawl modes. A message displays inthe instrument cluster when you select anoff-road mode. See G.O.A.T. Mode Control– Information Messages (page 269). Brakeover accelerator enables when an off-roadmode is exited or during the next key cycle.Return to on-road modes, normal, eco, sportor slippery, when driving on regular roads.See Brake Over Accelerator (page 209).

Bronco 4x4 Systems
To select a mode, use the consolemounted controller.
Note:Mode changes will not be availablewhen the ignition is off or when the engineis not running.
Note:Button icons may vary.
Note:Do not perform this operation whencruise control or trail control is selected andactive. The mode change may not occur asexpected.

Selecting a Steering Mode
To change the steering feel,press the button on the steeringwheel. The first press displays apop-up message in the instrument clusterdisplay for the selected mode andsubsequent presses changes the selectedmode.
The steering modes displayed andavailable will depend on the currentG.O.A.T. mode status:
•G.O.A.T. modes - Normal, slippery,sport and tow/haul will display normal,sport and comfort.
•G.O.A.T. modes - Baja, off-road androck crawl will display normal, sport,comfort and off-road steering modes.
Modes:
•Normal – Developed to complementvehicle response during daily driving.
•Sport – Slightly less assist anddamping for improved steering feelduring spirited driving.

SPORT - ADVANCED 4X4 WITH 4AMODE, EXCLUDING: RAPTOR
For sporty driving with improvedperformance handling andresponse. This mode increasesaccelerator pedal response and providesa sportier steering feel. The powertrainsystem holds onto lower gears longer,helping your vehicle accelerate faster.
Four-wheel drive auto (4A) is the defaultfour-wheel drive mode. Four-wheel drivelow (4L) is not selectable in sport mode.
The front electronic locking differential isnot available in sport mode. The rearelectronic locking differential is availablebelow 25 mph (40 km/h).
The stabilizer bar disconnect is notavailable in sport mode.
SPORT - 4X4 WITH PART TIMEENGAGEMENT
For sporty driving with improvedperformance handling andresponse. This mode increasesaccelerator pedal response and providesa sportier steering feel. The powertrainsystem holds onto lower gears longer,helping your vehicle accelerate faster.
Two-wheel drive high (2H) is the defaultfour-wheel drive mode. Four-wheel drivelow (4L) is not selectable in sport mode.
The front electronic locking differential isnot available in sport mode. The rearelectronic locking differential is availablebelow 25 mph (40 km/h).
The stabilizer bar disconnect is notavailable in sport mode.
SPORT - RAPTOR
For sporty driving with improvedperformance, handling andresponse.
This mode increases accelerator pedalresponse and provides a sportier steeringfeel. The powertrain system holds ontolower gears longer, helping your vehicleaccelerate faster.
Two-wheel drive high (2H) is the defaultfour-wheel drive mode. Four-wheel drivelow (4L) is not available in sport mode.Sport is the default steering, suspensionand exhaust modes, and the stabilizer baris connected by default.
The system tunes the engine andtransmission controls to sport mode. Thesystem tunes the stability and tractioncontrols to normal mode.
The rear electronic locking differential isavailable below 25 mph (40 km/h), butthe front electronic locking differential isnot available. See Switching theElectronic Locking Differential On andOff (page 203).
TOW/HAUL - RAPTOR
For improved transmissionoperation when towing a traileror a heavy load. This modemoves upshifts to higher engine speeds toreduce the frequency of transmissionshifting.
Tow/haul mode also provides enginebraking in all forward gears, which slowsyour vehicle and assists you in controllingyour vehicle when descending a slope. Theamount of downshift braking providedvaries based on the amount of pressureyou apply to the brake pedal.

•All four-wheel drive modes areselectable. There is no defaultfour-wheel drive mode and theprevious selection is maintained whenthe vehicle is restarted.
•Normal is the default for the steering,exhaust and suspension modes.
•Off-road steering mode is notavailable.
•Sport suspension is available.
•Off-road suspension mode is notavailable.
•Stabilizer bar cannot be disconnected.

HOW DOES ALERT MODE WORK
When in alert mode, the lane keepingsystem alerts you by vibrating the steeringwheel. The intensity of the vibration is setthrough the lane keeping system menu.
ADJUSTING THE STEERINGWHEEL VIBRATION INTENSITY
To change the steering wheel vibrationintensity, use the touchscreen:
1.Select Driver Assistance.
2.Select Lane Keeping System.
3.Select Intensity.
4.Select a setting.
AID MODE
WHAT IS AID MODE
Aid mode provides temporary steeringassistance toward the center of the lane.
HOW DOES AID MODE WORK
The lane keeping system aids you whenan unintentional lane departure occurs.The system provides a small steering inputto move the vehicle towards the center ofthe lane.
ALERT AND AID MODE
WHAT IS ALERT AND AID MODE
Alert and aid mode uses multiple featuresto keep you in your lane. The system firstprovides a small steering input to bringyour vehicle back towards the center ofthe lane. If your vehicle moves too far outof the center of the lane the system alertsyou with vibration in the steering wheel.

Why does the vehicle not come back toward the middle of the lane, as expected, in theAid, or Aid + Alert mode?

WHAT IS BLIND SPOT
INFORMATION SYSTEM
Blind spot information system detectsvehicles that may have entered the blindspot zone.
HOW DOES BLIND SPOT
INFORMATION SYSTEM WORK
Blind spot information system usessensors on both sides of your vehicle,detecting rearward from the exteriormirrors to approximately 13 ft (4 m)beyond the rear bumper. The detectionarea extends to approximately 59 ft (18 m)beyond the rear bumper when the vehiclespeed is greater than 30 mph (48 km/h)to alert you of faster approaching vehicles.
BLIND SPOT INFORMATION
SYSTEM PRECAUTIONS
WARNING: Do not use the blindspot information system as areplacement for using the interior andexterior mirrors or looking over yourshoulder before changing lanes. Theblind spot information system is not areplacement for careful driving.
WARNING: The system may notoperate properly during severe weatherconditions, for example snow, ice, heavyrain and spray. Always drive with duecare and attention. Failure to take caremay result in a crash.
Note: Blind spot information system doesnot prevent contact with other vehicles. Itdoes not detect parked vehicles,pedestrians, animals or other infrastructure.
BLIND SPOT INFORMATION
SYSTEM LIMITATIONS
Blind spot information system does notoperate in park (P) or reverse (R).
The system may not alert you if a vehiclequickly passes through the detection zone.
Note:For vehicles without blind spotinformation system with trailer coverage,aftermarket trailer tow modules or tow barsmay interfere with the system. In thissituation it is recommended that you switchthe system off when you attach a trailer. Forvehicles with a trailer tow module and towbar approved by the manufacturer, thesystem automatically turns off when youattach a trailer.
