
Adjusting the Pre-Collision AssistSettings
You can adjust the following settings byusing the touchscreen controls in thepre-collision assist menu:
•Change alert and distance alertsensitivity to one of three possiblesettings.
•Switch distance indication and alert onor off.
•If required, switch automaticemergency braking on or off.
•If required, switch the entirepre-collision assist feature on or off.
•If required, switch evasive steeringassist on or off.
Note:Automatic emergency braking andevasive steering turn on every time youswitch the ignition on.
Note:If your vehicle has a radar sensor, werecommend that you switch the system offif you install a snow plow or similar objectin such a way that it may block the radarsensor. Your vehicle remembers the selectedsetting across key cycles.
Note:If you switch automatic emergencybraking off, evasive steering assist switchesoff.
LOCATING THE PRE-
COLLISION ASSIST SENSORS

If a message regarding a blocked sensoror camera appears in the informationdisplay, something is obstructing the radarsignals or camera images. If your vehiclehas a radar sensor, it is behind the fasciacover in the center of the lower grille. Witha blocked sensor or camera, the systemmay not function, or performance mayreduce. See Pre-Collision Assist –Information Messages (page 291).
Note:Proper system operation requires aclear view of the road by the camera. Haveany windshield damage in the area of thecamera's field of view repaired.
Note:If something hits the front end of yourvehicle or damage occurs and your vehiclehas a radar sensor, the radar sensing zonecould change. This could cause missed orfalse vehicle detections. Have your vehicleserviced to have the radar checked forproper coverage and operation.

EVASIVE STEERING ASSISTLIMITATIONS
Evasive steering assist only activates whenall the following occur:
•Automatic emergency braking andevasive steering assist are on.
•The system detects a road user aheadand starts to apply the brakes.
•You significantly turn the steeringwheel to steer around a road user.
Note:Evasive steering assist does notautomatically steer around a road user. Ifyou do not turn the steering wheel, evasivesteering assist does not activate.
Note:Evasive steering assist does notactivate if the distance to the road userahead is too small and the system cannotavoid a crash.
Note:Evasive steering does not activatewith cyclists or pedestrians.

The rating for the tow vehicle's brakingsystem operation is at the gross vehicleweight rating, not the gross combinedweight rating.

WHAT IS THE MAXIMUM LOADEDTRAILER WEIGHT
The maximum loaded trailerweight is the highest possibleweight of a fully loaded trailer thevehicle can tow.
CALCULATING THE MAXIMUMLOADED TRAILER WEIGHT FORYOUR VEHICLE
1.Start with the gross combinedweight rating for your vehiclemodel and axle ratio.
2.Subtract all of the followingthat apply to your vehicle:
•Vehicle curb weight.
•Hitch hardware weight, forexample a draw bar, ball, locksor weight distributing hardware.
•Driver weight.
•Passenger weight.
•Payload, cargo and luggageweight.
•Aftermarket equipment weight.
This equals the maximum loadedtrailer weight for this combination.
Note:The trailer tongue load isconsidered part of the payload foryour vehicle. Reduce the totalpayload by the final trailer tongueweight.
Note:Consult an authorized dealerto determine the maximum trailerweight allowed for your vehicle ifyou are not sure.

WINCHING LIMITATIONS
The following could impact winchoperation:
•Temperatures below 32°F (0°C).
•Low battery charge.
•Winching without the engine runningor for sustained pulls of a minute ormore.
•Try winching using shorter pullswith breaks, both to check setupand to allow the vehicle's batteryto recharge.
•Exceeding the winch or winch roperating.
You may see messages on your instrumentcluster if the system voltage drops belowa set threshold, specifically if batteryhealth is poor, winching occurs in freezingtemperatures, and/or a continuouswinching cycle. These messages go awayonce vehicle system voltage returns tonormal.
WINCHING YOUR VEHICLE
For more information, refer to The BasicGuide to Winching Techniques.
1.Put on gloves.
2.Switch the clutch to the freespoolposition.
3.Pull the winch rope to the anchor point.
4.Secure the winch rope to the anchorpoint using a tree trunk protector orchoker chain.
5.Secure the clevis to the tree trunkprotector or choker chain and the hookstrap by threading the two ends of thetree trunk protector or choker chain andthe hook strap loop through the clevis.Do not overtighten the clevis.
6.Switch the clutch to the lockedposition.
7.Remove the cap from the control boxand connect the remote control to thecontrol box.
8.Put the winch rope under tension byslowly winding it with the remotecontrol.
9.Check the anchor and make sure allthe connections are secure and free ofdebris.
10.Make sure the winch rope is neatlywound around the spooling drum.
11.Place an energy absorber, such as atree limb, heavy jacket, chain orbackpack, over the winch rope,halfway between the winch andanchor point.
12.Make sure that everyone in theimmediate area is clear of thewinching vehicle.
13.With your vehicle switched on, beginwinching slowly and steadily with theremote control.
14.Continue winching your vehicle untilit is on stable ground.
15.Place your vehicle in park (P).
Note:If your vehicle is manual transmission,place it in first gear.
16.Disconnect the winch rope from theanchor.
17.Wind the winch rope back onto thewinch drum by walking it back withthe remote control. Keep tension onthe rope when rewinding it onto thedrum to evenly distribute the winchrope on the drum.
18.Secure the winch hook to the shacklepoint or the fairlead.
19.Disconnect the remote control fromthe control box. Store the remote ina clean, dry place. Place the cap backon the control box.

Selecting an Off-Road G.O.A.TMode
Using the appropriate drive mode increasesyour vehicle's control. See G.O.A.T. ModeControl (page 260).
Note:Drive modes are selected by usingthe Goes Over Any-type of Terrain G.O.A.T.MODES controller.
Using Four-Wheel Drive
Your vehicle has a four-wheel drive systemthat offers various modes to help youoptimize traction on any off-road surface.See Four-Wheel Drive (page 195).
Using the Stabilizer BarDisconnect
The stabilizer bar disconnect improvessuspension articulation, improving tractionand comfort in rough terrain.
The vehicle's disconnect system ishydraulically actuated.
Your vehicle is capable of disconnectingunder high load. Your vehicle is alsocapable of reconnecting under allconditions.
It is not necessary for the vehicle to be onlevel ground in order to reconnect thestabilizer bar. See Stabilizer BarDisconnect (page 229).
Using the Cameras Off-Road
Use the 360 degree camera to enhanceyour off-road experience. See 360 DegreeCamera (page 247).
Using the Front and RearDifferential Lock
When engaged, the front and reardifferential lock provides additionaltraction to your vehicle by forcing eitherthe two rear wheels or two front wheels toturn at the same speed.
You can activate and deactivate the frontand rear differential lock on the fly withinthe operating speed range. See ElectronicLocking Differential (page 203).
Using Trail Control
The system works in a similar manner tocruise control in off-road conditions. TrailControl provides you the ability tomaneuver the vehicle without using thethrottle and brake pedals.
Trail Control allows you to set a speedbetween 1 mph (1.6 km/h) to 14 mph(23 km/h) in a forward motion and 1 mph(1.6 km/h) to 5 mph (8 km/h) in reverse.The system controls acceleration andbraking in difficult off-road environments,which allows you to focus on steering. SeeTrail Control (page 222).
Trail Control Performance:
•Manages wheel slip to maximizetraction.
•Removes the need for you to use bothfeet when driving in off-road situations.
•Provides braking to maximize tractionin descents.
•Gives you confidence in difficultenvironments.
Using Trail One Pedal Drive
Trail one pedal drive coordinatespropulsive and braking torque through yourapplication of the accelerator pedal tosimulate a two footed driving technique.

Use this when driving over large obstacles,such as rocks or logs, to help maintain aconstant vehicle speed.
In 4H, the system offers lift pedal brakingand auto hill hold functionality. See WhatIs Trail One Pedal Drive (page 223).
Note:Trail one pedal drive is only availablewhen the vehicle is in 4H or 4L.
Using Trail Turn Assist
The feature reduces the turn radius of thevehicle on off-road surfaces.
The system reduces driver effort tonegotiate difficult off-road terrain byallowing the vehicle to make a tight turnin a single maneuver that might otherwiserequire a three point turn. See Trail TurnAssist (page 227).
Note:Trail turn assist is only available whenthe vehicle is in 4H or 4L.
Note:Trail turn assist cannot activate if therear differential is locked.
What Are Rock Rails (If Equipped)
Rock rails protect the rocker and body sidefrom damage and provide a sliding surfaceto allow the vehicle to cross boulders androck ledges.
Rock rails also can act as a pivot point tosharply turn the vehicle in tight spaces withhigh walls or rocks present.
AFTER DRIVING YOUR VEHICLEOFF-ROAD
WARNING: After off-road use,before returning to the road, check thewheels and tires for damage. Off-roaduse may cause damage to your wheelsand tires that can lead to tire failure, lossof vehicle control, serious injury or death.
Driving off-road places more stress on yourvehicle than most on-road driving. Afterdriving off-road, check for damage to thewheels, chassis and underbody.
Inspect the underbody of your vehicle bychecking tires, body structure, steering,suspension, and exhaust system fordamage.
Inspect the tires for any cuts in the treador sidewall area. Also inspect the sidewallfor any bulge indicating damage to the tire.
Make sure the tires are inflated to propertire pressure as indicated on the tireplacard.
Check the radiator for mud and debris andclean as needed.
Check that the air filter is clean and dry.
Remove accumulations of plants or brush.These things could be a fire hazard or hidedamage to the fuel lines, brake hoses andpropeller shafts.
Make sure the grille and radiator are clearof any obstructions that may affectcooling.
After extended operation in mud, sand,water, or similar dirty conditions, inspectthe wipers and washers to make sure theyare working.
Note:Mud caked windows are hard to seethrough and can damage wiper blades ormotor.
Check wipers for debris or anything thatmay scratch the windshield.
If you experience unusual vibration afterdriving in mud, slush or similar conditions,check the wheels for impacted material.Impacted material can cause vibrationswhen driving and wheel imbalance.Remove the material to reduce thevibration.
