Obstacle Detection
Features
If the liftgate encounters an
obstacle during a power open
or close cycle, the liftgate will
automatically reverse direction
and move a short distance
away from the obstacle. After
removing the obstruction, the
power liftgate operation can
be used again. If the liftgate
encounters multiple obstacles
on the same power cycle, the
power function will deactivate.
After removing the
obstructions, manually close
the liftgate. This will allow
normal power operation
functions to resume.
If the vehicle is locked while
the liftgate is closing, and an
obstacle is encountered that
prevents the liftgate from
completely closing, the horn
will sound as an alert that the
liftgate did not close.
Setting the 3/4 Mode
To change the position the
liftgate stops at when
opening:1. Select MAX or 3/4 mode and power open the
liftgate.
2. Stop the liftgate movement at the desired
height by pressing any
liftgate button. Manually
adjust the liftgate position
if needed.
3. Press and hold
lon the
outside of the liftgate until
the turn signals flash and a
beep sounds. This
indicates the setting has
been recorded.
The liftgate cannot be set
below a minimum
programmable height. If there
is no light flash or sound, then
the height adjustment may be
too low.
Manual Operation
Select OFF to manually
operate the liftgate.
Caution
Attempting to move the
liftgate too quickly and with
excessive force may result
in damage to the vehicle.
Operate the liftgate manually
with a smooth motion and
moderate speed. The system
includes a feature which limits
the manual closing speed to
protect the components.
To unlock the liftgate, press
K
on the power door lock switch
or press
Kon the remote key
twice within five seconds. See
Remote Key Operation 09.

alarm system.
The indicator light, on the
instrument panel near the
windshield, indicates the
status of the system.
Off :Alarm system is
disarmed. On Solid :
Vehicle is secured

3. After 30 seconds the alarm system will arm, and
the indicator light will begin
to slowly flash indicating
the alarm system is
operating. Pressing
Qon
the remote key a second
time will bypass the 30-second delay and
immediately arm the alarm
system.
The vehicle alarm system will
not arm if the doors are locked
with the key.
If the driver door is opened
without first unlocking with
the remote key, the horn will
chirp and the lights will flash
to indicate pre-alarm. If the
vehicle is not started, or the
door is not unlocked by
pressing
Kon the remote key
during the 10-second
pre-alarm, the alarm will be
activated.
The alarm will also be
activated if a passenger door,
the liftgate, or the hood is
opened without first disarming
the system. When the alarm is
activated, the turn signals
flash and the horn sounds for
about 30 seconds. The alarm

Compass
The vehicle may have a
compass display on the Driver
Information Center (DIC). The
compass receives its heading
and other information from
the Global Positioning
System (GPS) antenna,
StabiliTrak/Electronic Stability
Control (ESC), and vehicle
speed information.
The compass system is
designed to operate for a
certain number of miles or
degrees of turn before
needing a signal from the GPS satellites. When the compass
display shows CAL, drive the
vehicle for a short distance in
an open area where it can
receive a GPS signal. The
compass system will
automatically determine when
a GPS signal is restored and
provide a heading again.

Lane Keep Assist
(LKA) Light
Base LevelUplevel
If equipped, the Lane Keep
Assist Light may display the
following colors:
.Blank: LKA is disabled.
.White: Appears when the
vehicle starts. A steady
white light indicates that
LKA is not ready to assist.
.Green: Appears when LKA is
turned on and ready to
assist. LKA will gently turn
the steering wheel if the
vehicle approaches a
detected lane marking.
.Amber: Appears when LKA is
active. The light flashes
amber as a Lane Departure
Warning (LDW) alert to
indicate that the lane
marking has been
unintentionally crossed.
If the system detects you
are steering intentionally (to
pass or change lanes), the
LDW alert may not display.
LKA will not assist or alert if
the turn signal is active in the
direction of lane departure,
or if LKA detects that you are
accelerating, braking,
or actively steering. See Lane
Keep Assist (LKA) 0338.
Vehicle Ahead

Radio Signals for Some
Gate Operators
For questions or programming
help, see www.homelink.com/
gm or call 1-800-355-3515.
For calls placed outside the
U.S., Canada, or Puerto Rico, international rates will apply
and may differ based on
landline or mobile phone.
Some gate operators and
radio-frequency laws require
transmitter signals to time out
or quit after several seconds
of transmission. This may not
be long enough for the
Universal Remote system to
pick up the signal during
programming.
If the programming did not
work, replace Step 2 under
“Programming the Universal
Remote System”
with the
following:
Press and hold the Universal
Remote system button while
pressing and releasing the
hand-held transmitter button
every two seconds until the
signal has been successfully
accepted by the Universal
Remote system. The Universal
Remote system indicator light
will flash slowly at first and
then change to a rapid flash or
continuous solid-light. Proceed

IntelliBeam System
If equipped, this system turns
the vehicle's high-beam
headlamps on and off
according to surrounding
traffic conditions. The system turns the
high-beam headlamps on when
it is dark enough and there is
no other traffic present.
This light
bcomes on in the
instrument cluster when the
IntelliBeam system is enabled.
Turning On and Enabling
IntelliBeam
To enable the IntelliBeam
system, press the end of the
turn signal lever when it is
dark outside and the exterior
lamp control is in AUTO or
2.
Driving with IntelliBeam
The system only activates the
high beams when driving over
40 km/h (25 mph). The blue high-beam on light
appears on the instrument
cluster when the high beams
are on.
There is a sensor near the top
center of the windshield that
automatically controls the
system. Keep this area of the
windshield clear of debris to
allow for best system
performance.
The high-beam headlamps
remain on, under the
automatic control, until one of
the following occurs:
.The system detects an
approaching vehicle's
headlamps.
.The system detects a
preceding vehicle's taillamps.
.The outside light is bright
enough that high-beam
headlamps are not required.
.The vehicle's speed drops
below 20 km/h (12 mph).
.The IntelliBeam system is
disabled by the button on
the turn signal lever. If this

happens, press the end of
the turn signal lever when
the exterior lamp control is
in the AUTO or
2position to
reactivate the IntelliBeam
system. The instrument
cluster light will come on to
indicate the IntelliBeam
system is reactivated.
The high beams may not turn
off automatically if the system
cannot detect another
vehicle's lamps because of any
of the following:
.The other vehicle's lamps
are missing, damaged,
obstructed from view,
or otherwise undetected.
.The other vehicle's lamps
are covered with dirt, snow,
and/or road spray.
.The other vehicle's lamps
cannot be detected due to
dense exhaust, smoke, fog,
snow, road spray, mist,
or other airborne
obstructions.
.The vehicle's windshield is
dirty, cracked, or obstructed
by something that blocks the
view of the light sensor.
.The vehicle is loaded such
that the front end points
upward, causing the light
sensor to aim high and not
detect headlamps and
taillamps.
.The vehicle is being driven
on winding or hilly roads.
The automatic high-beam
headlamps may need to be
disabled if any of the above
conditions exist.
Exterior Lamps Off
Reminder
A warning chime sounds if the
driver door is opened while
the ignition is off and the
exterior lamps are on.

Low-Beam Changer
3: Push the turn signal lever
away from you and release, to
turn the high beams on. To
return to low beams, push the
lever again or pull it toward
you and release.

the high-beam headlamps
are on.
Flash-to-Pass
To flash the high beams, pull
