Rear brake • Check operation.
• If soft or spongy, have Yamaha dealer bleed hydraulic system.
• Check brake pads for wear.
• Replace if necessary.
• Check fluid level in reservoir.
• If necessary, add specified brake fluid to specified level.
• Check hydraulic system for leakage. 7-18, 7-19
Clutch • Check operation.
• Lubricate cable if necessary.
• Check lever free play.
• Adjust if necessary.

Throttle g rip • Make sure that operation is smooth.
• Check throttle grip free play.

Drive chain • Check chain slack.
• Adjust if necessary.
• Check chain condition.

To install the front wheel
1. Make sure the brake pads have not been forced shut.
2. Lift up the wheel between the fork legs.
3. Insert the wheel axle from the right side.
4. Install the washer and axle nut.
5. Tighten the axle nut to the speci- fied torque.
