While the battery-saving mode is set,
the smart entry & start system cannot be
used. To cancel the function, press any
of the electronic key buttons.
●Electronic keys that will not be used for long periods of time can be set to the battery-saving mode in advance.
■Conditions affecting operation
The smart entry & start system uses weak radio waves. In the following situa-tions, the communication between the
electronic key and the vehicle may be affected, preventing the smart entry & start system, wireless remote control
and immobilizer system from operating properly. (Ways of coping: P.407)
●When the electronic key battery is depleted
●Near a TV tower, electric power plant, gas station, radio station, large dis-play, airport or other facility that gen-
erates strong radio waves or electrical noise
●When carrying a portable radio, cellu-lar phone, cordless phone or other wireless communication device
●When the electronic key is in contact with, or is covered by the following
metallic objects • Cards to which aluminum foil is attached
• Cigarette boxes that have aluminum foil inside• Metallic wallets or bags
• Coins • Hand warmers made of metal
• Media such as CDs and DVDs
●When other wireless keys (that emit radio waves) are being used nearby
●When carrying the electronic key together with the following devices
that emit radio waves • Another vehicle’s electronic key or a wireless key that emits radio waves
• Personal computers or personal digi- tal assistants (PDAs)• Digital audio players
• Portable game systems

metallic objects are attached to the rear window
●When the electronic key is placed near a battery charger or electronic devices
●When the vehicle is parked in a pay parking spot where radio waves are
emitted
If the doors cannot be locked/unlocked using the smart entry & start system,
lock/unlock the doors by performing any of the following:
●Bring the electronic key close to either front door handle and operate the entry function.
●Operate the wireless remote control.
If the doors cannot be locked/unlocked
using the above methods, use the mechanical key. ( P.408)
If the hybrid system cannot be started
using the smart entry & start system, refer to P.408.
■Note for the entry function
●Even when the electronic key is within the effective range (detection areas), the system may not operate properly
in the following cases: • The electronic key is too close to the window or outside door handle, near
the ground, or in a high place when the doors are locked or unlocked.• The electronic key is on the instru-
ment panel, luggage cover or floor, or in the door pockets or glove box when the hybrid system is started or power

The power outlet can be used for

than 10 A.

■When stopping the hybrid system
Disconnect electrical devices with
charging functions, such as mobile bat- tery packs.If such devices are left connected, the
hybrid system may not stop normally.
A portable device, such as a smart-
phone or mobile battery, can be
charged by just placing it on the
charging area, provided the device
is compatible with the Qi wireless
charging standard created by the
Wireless Power Consortium.
The wireless charger cannot be
used with a portable device that is
larger than the charging area. Addi-
tionally, depending on the portable
device, the wireless charger may
not operate properly. Refer to the
operation manual of the portable
device.

The “Qi” symbol is a trademark of
the Wireless Power Consortium.

Do not use an accessory that uses more than 12 V 10 A.

Do not use the power outlet longer
than necessary when the hybrid sys- tem is off.

■Operation indicator light status
*: Depending on the portable device, the operation indicator light may stay illumi-
nated (orange) after charging has completed.
 If the operation indicator light blinks
If an error is detected, the operation indicator light will blink (orange). Take the
appropriate measures according to the table below.
■The wireless charger can be oper-

■Portable devices that can be charged
●Portable devices compatible with the Qi wireless charging standard can be
charged by the wireless charger. How- ever, compatibility with all devices which meet the Qi wireless charging
standard is not guaranteed.
●The wireless charger is designed to supply low power electricity (5 W or
less) to a cellular phone, smartphone, or other portable device.
■If a cover or accessory is attached to the portable device
Do not charge a portable device if a cover or accessory which is not Qi com-patible is attached. Depending on the

●Tire inflation pressure changes with temperature. The displayed values may also be different from the values
measured using a tire pressure gauge.
■Situations in which the tire pres-sure warning system may not oper-
ate properly
●In the following cases, the tire pres-
sure warning system may not operate properly.• If non-genuine Toyota wheels are
used. • A tire has been replaced with a tire that is not an OE (Original Equipment)
tire. • A tire has been replaced with a tire that is not of the specified size.
• Tire chains, etc. are equipped. • An auxiliary-supported run-flat tire is equipped.
• If a window tint that affects the radio wave signals is installed.• If there is a lot of snow or ice on the
vehicle, particularly around the wheels or wheel housings.• If the tire inflation pressure is
extremely higher than the specified level.• If tires not equipped with tire pressure
warning valves and transmitters are used.• If the ID code on the tire pressure
warning valves and transmitters is not registered in the tire pressure warning computer.
●Performance may be affected in the following situations.
• Near a TV tower, electric power plant, gas station, radio station, large dis-play, airport or other facility that gen-
erates strong radio waves or electrical noise.• When carrying a portable radio, cellu-
lar phone, cordless phone or other wireless communication device.
●When the vehicle is parked, the time taken for the warning to start or go off
could be extended.
●When tire inflation pressure declines rapidly for example when a tire has
burst, the warning may not function.
■Warning performance of the tire pressure warning system
The warning of the tire pressure warning
system will change in accordance with driving conditions. For this reason, the system may give a warning even if the
tire pressure does not reach a low enough level, or if the pressure is higher than the pressure that was adjusted to
when the system was initialized.
When replacing tires or wheels, tire
pressure warning valves and trans-
mitters must also be installed.
When new tire pressure warning
valves and transmitters are
installed, new ID codes must be
registered in the tire pressure warn-
ing computer and the tire pressure
warning system must be initialized.
Have tire pressure warning valves
and transmitter ID codes regis-
tered any authorized Toyota retailer
or Toyota authorized repairer, or
any reliable repairer. ( P.339)
■Replacing tires and wheels
If the ID code of the tire pressure warn-
ing valve and transmitter is not regis- tered, the tire pressure warning system will not work properly. After driving for
about 10 minutes, the tire pressure warning light blinks for 1 minute and stays on to indicate a system malfunc-
tion.
