■Caution regarding interference with electronic devices
● People with implantable cardiac pacemakers, cardiac resynchroni zation
therapy-pacemakers or implantable cardioverter defibrillators should keep
away from the smart key system antennas. ( P. 128)
The radio waves may affect the operation of such devices. If ne cessary,
the entry function can be disabled. Ask your Toyota dealer for details, such
as the frequency of radio waves and timing of the emitted radio waves.
Then, consult your doctor to see if you should disable the entry function.
● User of any electrical medical device other than implantable cardiac pace-
makers, cardiac resynchronization therapy-pacemakers or implantable
cardioverter defibrillators should consult the manufacturer of the device for
information about its operation under the influence of radio waves.
Radio waves could have unexpected effects on the operation of such
medical devices.
Ask your Toyota dealer for details for disabling the entry function.

Each key can be registered to recall your preferred driving position.
■Registering procedure
Record your driving position to button “1” or “2” before perfor ming
the following:
Carry only the key you want to register, and then close the dri ver’s
door.
If 2 or more keys are in the vehicle, the driving position cann ot be
recorded properly.
Check that the shift lever is in P.
Turn the engine switch to ON.
Recall the driving position that you want to record.
While pressing the recalled
button, press and hold the
door lock switch (either lock
or unlock) until the buzzer
sounds.
If the button could not be regis-
tered, the buzzer sounds contin-
uously for approximately 3
seconds.
■
Recall procedure
Make sure that the doors are locked before recalling the drivin g
position. Carry the key that has been registered to the driving
position, and then unlock and open the driver’s door using the
wireless remote control.
The driving position will move to the recorded position (not in cluding the
steering wheel).
If the driving position is in a position that has already been recorded, the
seat and outside rear view mirrors will not move.
Turn the engine switch to ACC or ON, or fasten a seat belt.
The seat and steering wheel will move to the recorded position.

Cancelation procedure
Carry only the key you want to cancel and then close the driver
’s
door.
If 2 or more keys are in the vehicle, the driving position cann ot be
canceled properly.
Turn the engine switch to ON.
While pressing the “SET” button, press and hold the door lock
switch (either lock or unlock) until the buzzer sounds twice.
If the button could not be canceled, the buzzer sounds continuo usly for
approximately 3 seconds.
■ Recalling the driving position using the memory recall function
Different driving positions can be registered for each key. Therefore, the driv-
ing position that is recalled may be different depending on the key being car-
ried.
■ Customization
The unlock door settings of the memory recall function can be customized.

Take care during seat adjustment so that the seat does not stri ke the rear
passenger or squeeze your body against the steering wheel.

■The power windows can be operated when
The engine switch is in ON.
■ Operating the power windows after turning the engine off
The power windows can be operated for approximately 45 seconds even
after the engine switch is turned to ACC or OFF. They cannot, h owever, be
operated once either front door is opened.
■ Jam protection function (front windows only)
If an object becomes jammed between the window and the window f rame
while the window is closing, window movement is stopped and the window is
opened slightly.
■ When the power window does not close normally
If the jam protection function is operating abnormally and a wi ndow cannot be
closed, perform the following operations using the power window switch on
the front door.
● After stopping the vehicle, the window can be closed by holding the power
window switch in the one-touch closing position while the engine switch is
turned to ON.
● If the window still cannot be closed even by carrying out the operation as
explained above, initialize the function by performing the foll owing proce-
dure.
Hold the power window switch in the one-touch closing position. Continue
holding the switch for a further 6 seconds after the window has closed.
Hold the power window switch in the one-touch opening position. Con-
tinue holding the switch for a further 2 seconds after the window has
opened completely.
Hold the power window switch in the one-touch closing position once
again. Continue holding the switch for a further 2 seconds afte r the win-
dow has closed.
If you release the switch while the window is moving, start aga in from the
beginning.
If the window re-opens slightly after performing the above procedure cor-
rectly, have the vehicle inspected by your Toyota dealer.

● The driver is responsible for all the power window operations, including the
operation for the passengers. In order to prevent accidental op eration,
especially by a child, do not let a child operate the power windows. It is
possible for children and other passengers to have body parts c aught in
the power window. Also, when riding with a child, it is recommended to use
the window lock switch. ( P. 165)
● Check to make sure that all passengers do not have any part of their body
in a position where it could be caught when a window is being o perated.
● When using the key or mechanical key and operating the power wi ndows,
operate the power window after checking to make sure that there is no
possibility of any passenger having any of their body parts cau ght in the
window. Also do not let a child operate window by the key. It i s possible for
children and other passengers to get caught in the power window .
● When exiting the vehicle, turn the engine switch off, carry the key and exit
the vehicle along with the child. There may be accidental operation, due to
mischief, etc., that may possibly lead to an accident.
■ Jam protection function
● Never use any part of your body to intentionally activate the jam protection
function.
● The jam protection function may not work if something gets jammed just
before the window is fully closed. Be careful not to get any pa rt of your
body jammed in the window.

■Caution while driving
Keep the back door and back window closed while driving. If the back door
or the back window is left open, the back door may hit nearby o bjects while
driving or luggage may be unexpectedly thrown out, causing an accident.
In addition, exhaust gases may enter the vehicle, causing death or a seri-
ous health hazard. Make sure to close the back door and back window
before driving.
■ Closing the power back window
● The driver is responsible for power back window opening and clo sing
operations.
In order to prevent accidental operation, especially by a child, do not let a
child operate the power back window. It is possible for children and other
passengers to have body parts caught in the power back window. Also,
when riding with a child, it is recommended to use the window lock switch.
