QLighting conditions of operation indicator light
*: Depending on the portable device, there are cases where the operation
indicator light will continue being lit up orange even after the charging is
complete.
OWhen the operation indicator light flashes
When an error occurs, the operation indicator light flashes an
orange color. Handle the error based on the following table.

QThe wireless charger can be operated when
The power switch is in ACCESSORY or ON mode.
QUsable portable devices
Qi standard wireless charge standard can be used on compatible devices.
However, not all Qi standard devices and compatibility are guaranteed.
Starting with mobile phones and smart phones, it is aimed for low power elec-
trically supplied portable devices of no more than 5W.
QWhen covers and accessories are attached to portable devices
Do not charge in situations where cover and accessories not able to handle
Qi are attached to the portable device. Depending on the type of cover and
accessory, it may not be possible to charge. When charging is not performed
even with the portable device placed on the charge area, remove the cover
and accessories.
QWhile charging, noise enters the AM radio
Turn off the wireless charger and confirm that the noise has decreased. If the
noise decreases, continuously pushing the power supply switch of the wire-
less charger for 2 seconds, the frequency of the charger can be changed and
the noise can be reduced.
Also, on that occasion, the operation indicator light will flash orange 2 times.
QImportant points of the wireless charger
OIf the electronic key cannot be detected within the vehicle interior, charging
cannot be done. When the door is opened and closed, charging may be
temporarily suspended.
OWhen charging, the wireless charging device and portable device will get
warmer, however this is not a malfunction.
When a portable device gets warm while charging, charging may stop due
to the protection function on the portable device side. In this case, when the
temperature of the portable device drops significantly, charge again.
QOperation sounds
When the power supply is turned on, while searching for the portable device a
sound will be produced, however this is not a malfunction.

WARNING
QBattery precautions
Observe the following precautions.
Failure to do so may result in death or serious injury.
O Do not swallow the battery. Doing so may cause chemical burns.
O A coin battery or button battery is used in the electronic key. If a battery is
swallowed, it may cause severe chemical burns in as little as 2 hours and
may result in death or serious injury.
O Keep away new and removed batteries from children.
O If the cover cannot be firmly closed, stop using the electronic key and stow
the key in the place where children cannot reach, and then cont act any
authorized Toyota retailer or Toyota authorized repairer, or an y reliable
repairer as soon as possible.
O If you accidentally swallow a battery or put a battery into a part of your
body, get emergency medical attention immediately.
Q To prevent battery explosion or leakage of flammable liquid or gas
O Replace the battery with a new battery of the same type. If a wrong type of
battery is used, it may explode.
O Do not expose batteries to extremely low pressure due to high altitude or
extremely high temperatures.
O Do not burn, break or cut a battery.
Q Certification for the smart entry & start system

(Flashes or illuminates)
PCS warning light
• When a buzzer sounds simultaneously:
Indicates a malfunction has occurred in the PCS (Pre-
Collision System).
 Have the vehicle inspected by any authorized Toyota
retailer or Toyota authorized repairer, or any reliable
repairer immediately.
• When a buzzer does not sound:
The PCS (Pre-Collision System) has become temporar-
ily unavailable, corrective action may be necessary.
 Follow the instructions displayed on the multi-infor-
mation display. ( P. 366, 665)
If the PCS (Pre-Collision System) or VSC (Vehicle Stability
Control) system is disabled, the PCS warning light will illu-
minate.

LTA indicator (warning buzzer)
Indicates a malfunction in the LTA (Lane Tracing Assist)
 Follow the instructions displayed on the multi-infor-
mation display. ( P. 394)
Slip indicator light
Indicates a malfunction in:
• The VSC system;
• The TRC system; or
• The hill-start assist control system
 Have the vehicle inspected by any authorized Toyota
retailer or Toyota authorized repairer, or any reliable
repairer immediately.
The light will flash when the ABS, VSC or TRC system is
operating.
High coolant temperature warning light
• When the light flashes:
Indicates that the engine coolant temperature is too high
The light changes from a flashing to a solid light when
the temperature further increases
 Immediately stop the vehicle in a safe place.

• When the light comes on without flashing:
Indicates a malfunction in the exhaust heat recirculator
system
 Have the vehicle inspected by any authorized Toyota
retailer or Toyota authorized repairer, or any reliable

The warning messages explained below may differ from the actual messages
according to operation conditions and vehicle specifications.
Q System warning lights
The master warning light does not come on or flash in the follo wing cases.
Instead, a separate system warning light will come on along wit h a message
or image shown on the multi-information display.
O “Antilock Brake System Malfunction Visit Your Dealer”:
The ABS warning light comes on. ( P. 658)
O “Braking Power Low Visit Your Dealer”:
The brake system warning light (yellow) will come on. ( P. 657)
O Indicates that a door is not fully closed while the vehicle is stopped.:
The Open door warning light comes on. ( P. 6 6 0 )
Q If “Visit Your Dealer” is shown
The system or part shown on the multi-information display is ma lfunctioning.
Have the vehicle inspected by any authorized Toyota retailer or Toyota autho-
rized repairer, or any reliable repairer.
Q If a message about an operation is shown
O If a message about an operation of the accelerator pedal or brake pedal is
shown
• A warning message about an operation of the brake pedal may be shown
while the driving assist systems such as PCS (Pre-Collision Sys tem) or
the dynamic radar cruise control with full-speed range is opera ting. If a
warning message is shown, be sure to decelerate the vehicle or follow an
instruction shown on the multi-information display.
• A warning message is shown when Brake Override System operates .

O If a message about an operation of the power switch is shown
An instruction for operation of the power switch is shown when the incorrect
procedure for starting the hybrid system is performed or the po wer switch is
operated incorrectly. Follow the instructions shown on the mult i-information
display to operate the power switch again.
O If a message about a shift operation is shown
To prevent the shift position from being selected incorrectly o r the vehicle
from moving unexpectedly, the shift position may be changed aut omatically
( P. 331) or shift operation may be required. In this case, change the shift
position following the instructions on the multi-information di splay.

O If a message or image about an open/close state of a part or replenishment
of a consumable is shown
Confirm the part indicated by the multi-information display or a warning light,
and then perform the coping method such as closing the open doo r or
replenishing a consumable.
Q If “See Owner’s Manual” is shown
O If “Braking Power Low Stop in a Safe Place See Owner’s Manual” is shown,
this may be a malfunction. Immediately stop the vehicle in a sa fe place and
contact any authorized Toyota retailer or Toyota authorized rep airer, or any
reliable repairer. Continuing to drive the vehicle may be dange rous.
O If “Engine Oil Pressure Low” is shown, this may be a malfunction. Immedi-
ately stop the vehicle in a safe place and contact any authoriz ed Toyota
retailer or Toyota authorized repairer, or any reliable repaire r.
O If the following messages are shown, there may be a malfunction. Immedi-
ately have the vehicle inspected by any authorized Toyota retai ler or Toyota

The P position switch may not operate. Immediately have the veh icle
inspected by any authorized Toyota retailer or Toyota authorize d repairer, or
any reliable repairer.
When parking the vehicle, stop the vehicle on level ground and apply the
parking brake firmly.
Q If “Shift System Malfunction Shifting Unavailable See Owner’s Manual”
is shown
Indicates a malfunction in the shift control system. Immediatel y have the vehi-
cle inspected by any authorized Toyota retailer or Toyota autho rized repairer,
or any reliable repairer.
The shift position may not be shifted from P to other than P.

O After charging the 12-volt battery, the message may not go off until the shift
position is changed from P.
Q If “Shifting Unavailable Low 12-Volt Battery See Owner’s Manual” is
shown
Indicates that the shift position cannot be changed because the voltage of the
12-volt battery drops. Charge or replace the 12-volt battery.
(Coping method in the case the 12-volt battery is discharged: P. 697)
Q If “Hybrid System Overheated. Reduced Output Power.” is shown
The message may be shown when driving under severe operating co nditions.
