For safety and security
■ISOFIX lower anchorages
(ISOFIX child restraint system)
Lower anchorages are provided for
the each rear seats. (Buttons dis-
playing the location of the anchor-
ages are attached to the seats.)
■Installation with ISOFIX lower
anchorage (ISOFIX child
restraint system)
Install the child re straint system in
accordance to the operation man-
ual enclosed with the child restraint
system.
If the child restraint system on hand
is not within the “universal” cate-
gory (or the necessary information
is not in the table), refer to the
“Vehicle List” provided by the child
restraint system maker for various
possible installation positions, or
check the compatibility after asking
the retailer of the child seat.

1 Check the positions of the exclu-
sive fixing bars, and install the
child restraint system to the
seat.
The bars are installed in the clearance.
2 After installing the child restraint
system, rock it back and forth to
ensure that it is installed
securely. ( P. 6 7 )
WA R N I N G
●Shake the child restraint system left
and right, and forward and back-
ward to ensure that it has been securely installed.
●After securing a child restraint sys-tem, never adjust the seat.
●When a junior seat is installed,
always ensure that the shoulder belt is positioned across the center
of the child’s shoulder. The belt
should be kept away from the child’s neck, but not so that it could
fall off the child’s shoulder.
●Follow all installation instructions
provided by the child restraint sys-
tem manufacturer.

Top tether anchorages are provided
for the each rear seat.
Use top tether anchorages when
fixing the top strap.

Install the child re straint system in
accordance to the operation man-
ual enclosed with the child restraint
system.
Open the top tether anchorages
cover, latch the hook onto the top
tether anchorages and tighten the
top strap.
Make sure the top strap is securely
latched. ( P. 6 7 )

Store the removed cover in a safe place.
Also, after removing a child restraint
system, make sure to install the removed cover to its original position.

system
Observe the following precautions. Failure to do so may result in death or
serious injury.
●After securing a child restraint sys-
tem, never adjust the seat.
●When using the lower anchorages, be sure that there are no foreign
objects around the anchorages and
that the seat belt is not caught behind the ch ild restraint system.
●Follow all installation instructions provided by the child restraint sys-
tem manufacturer.

make sure that the belt is not
twisted.

3-3. Adjusting the seats
Before driving
1 Move the front seats forward.

2 Fold the seatback down.
Lock release buttons
Press the seatback lock release but-
tons and fold the seatback down.
Press the button until the lock is
released.
To return the seatbacks to its original
position, lift it up until it locks.
Lock release straps
Pull the seatback lock release straps in
the trunk for the seatback you wish to
fold down.
To return the seatbacks to its original
position, lift it up until it locks.
■Seat dust cover
Always remove the se at dust cover that may be attached at the time of purchase
before using the seat.
Rear seats
The rear seatbacks can be
folded down.
Folding down the rear

Observe the following precautions.
Failure to do so may result in death or serious injury.
■When folding the rear seatbacks down
●Do not fold the seatbacks down
while driving.
●Stop the vehicle on level ground,
set the parking brake and shift the shift lever to P (automatic transmis-
sion) or N (manual transmission).
●Do not allow anyone to sit on a
folded seatback or in the trunk while
driving.
●Do not allow children to enter the
trunk.

■Seat heaters
Press the switch to warm the seats.
The indicator light comes on when a
seat heater is turned on.
WA R N I N G
■To prevent the windshield defog-
ger from operating improperly
Do not place anything on the instru- ment panel which may cover the air
outlets. Otherwise, air flow may be
obstructed, preventing the windshield defoggers from defogging.
Seat heaters*
Warm up the seat upholstery.
WA R N I N G
■To prevent minor burn injuries
Care should be taken if anyone in the
following categories comes in contact with the seats when the heater is on:
●Babies, small children, the elderly, the sick and the physically chal-
lenged
●Persons with sensitive skin
●Persons who are fatigued
●Persons who have taken alcohol or
drugs that induce sleep (sleeping drugs, cold remedies, etc.)
NOTICE
■To prevent damage to the seat
heaters
Do not put heavy objects that have an
uneven surface on the seat and do
not stick sharp objects (needles, nails, etc.) into the seat.
■To prevent battery discharge
Do not use the functions when the
engine is off.
