In thefo llowing situations, no lane-cor recting
steering inter vention occurs but rather a warning
in the steering wheel, depending on the situation:
R You clear lyand actively steer, brake or accel-
erate.
R If a driving saf ety sy stem inter venes, such as
ESP ®
,Ac tive Brake Assist or Active Blind Spot
Assist.
R You ha veadop ted a sporty driving style with
high cornering speeds or high rates of acceler-
ation.
R When ESP ®
is deacti vated.
R If transport equipment, forex ample a trailer or
bicycle rack , is attached tothe trailer hitch
and the electrical connection has been cor-
re ctly es tablished.
R If a loss of tyre pressure or a defective tyre
has been de tected and displa yed. The system may be impaired or may not function
particular
lyin thefo llowing situations:
R Ifth ere is poor visibility, e.g. due toinsu1cient
illumination of thero ad, highly variable shade
conditions, rain, sno w,fog or heavy spr ay.
R Ifth ere is glare, e.g. from oncoming tra1c, the
sun or re0ections.
R Ifth e windscreen in the area of the multifunc-
tion camera is dirty, or if the camera is misted
up, damaged or co vered.
R Ifth ere is dirt on the bumper in the area of the
ra dar sensors, or if they are damaged or co v-
ered.
R Ifth ere are no lane markings, or se veral
unclear lane markings are present for one
lane, e.g. around roadwor ks.
R Ifth e lane markings are worn, dark or co v-
ered.
R Ifth e distance totheve hicle in front is too
short and thus the lane markings cannot be
de tected.
R Ifth e lane markings change quickl y,e.g. lanes
branch o., cross one ano ther or mer ge. R
Ifth e car riag ewa y isvery nar row and winding.

Objects located abo veor below the de tection
ra nge of Active Parking Assist, such as overhang-
ing loads, overhangs or loading ramp s of goods
ve hicles or the borders of parking spaces, are not
de tected during measurement of the parking
space. These are also then not take n into account
when calculating the parking procedure. In some
circumstances, Active Parking Assist may there-
fo re guide you into the parking space prematurely
or brake too late.
Cer tain environmental conditions, such as sno w-
fa ll or heavy rain, may lead toa parking space
being measured inaccuratel y.Pa rking spaces that
are partial lyoccupied bytrailer dr awbars might
not be identi/ed as such or be measured incor-
re ctl y.Only use Active Parking Assist on le vel,
high-g rip gr ound. &

tive Parking Assist can also display unsuitable
parking spaces, e.g. parking spaces in which
parking is not permitted or parking spaces on
unsuitable sur faces.

pac ked snow or in heavy rain.
R When transporting a load that pr otru des

Ifth e parking space is on a steep downhill or
uphill gradient.
R When snow chains are /tted.
R Directly aTer a tyre change or when spare
tyres are /tted.
R Ifth e tyre pressure is too low or too high.
R Ifth e suspension is out of alignment, e.g. aTer
bottoming out on a kerb.
R On steep inclines of more than appr oximately
