warm water over the frozen area to
melt the ice. Wipe away the water
immediately to prevent it from
freezing.
 To ensure proper operation of the
climate control system fan, remove
any snow that has accumulated on
the air inlet vents in front of the
windshield.
 Check for and remove any excess
ice or snow that may have accumu-
lated on the exterior lights, vehicle’s
roof, chassis, around the tires or on
the brakes.
 Remove any snow or mud from the
bottom of your shoes before getting
in the vehicle.
Accelerate the vehicle slowly, keep a
safe distance between you and the
vehicle ahead, and drive at a reduced
speed suitable to road conditions.
 Park the vehicle and move the shift
lever to P without setting the park-
ing brake. The parking brake may
freeze up, preventing it from being
released. If the vehicle is parked
without setting the parking brake,
make sure to block the wheels.
Failure to do so may be dangerous
because it may cause the vehicle to
move unexpectedly, possibly lead-
ing to an accident.
When the parking brake is in automatic mode, release the parking brake after shift-
ing the shift lever to P. (

 If the vehicle is parked without set-
ting the parking brake, confirm that
the shift lever cannot be moved out
of P

*: The shift lever will be locked if it is
attempted to be shifted from P to any
other position with out depressing the
brake pedal. If the shift lever can be
shifted from P, ther e may be a problem
with the shift lock sy stem. Have the vehi-
cle inspected by your Lexus dealer
immediately.

mounting the tire chains.
Chain size is regulated for each tire

■Adjusting the temperature setting
To adjust the temperature setting,
touch and slide your finger up or down
on the sensor.
The temperature setting can also be
adjusted by touching on the sensor.
When the temperature setting is changed,
a buzzer sounds.
If is not pressed, the system will
blow ambient temperature air or heated
air.
■Fan speed setting
Press to increase the fan
speed.
Press to decrease the fan
speed.
■Change the airflow mode
To change the airflow, press .
The air outlets used are switched each time
the button is pressed.
Air flows to the upper body.
Air flows to the upper body and
feet.

driver and passenger seats sepa-
rately (“DUAL” mode)
To turn on the “DUAL” mode, perform
any of the following procedures:
 Press .
 Select “DUAL” on the air condition-
ing control screen.
 Adjust the passenger’s side tem-
perature setting.
The indicator comes on when the “DUAL”
mode is on.
While in “DUAL” mode, the temperature of
the rear air outlets is set at the right-hand
side temperature setting.
■Switching between outside air and
recirculated air modes
Press .
The mode switches among (recircu-
lated air mode), automatic and (out-
side air mode) modes each time the button
is pressed.
