Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist Video

FCA Warning Volume can be adjusted in the User Set tings in the Instrument Cluster or the Vehicle Set tings* on the audio head unit. Go to Driver Assistance, then Warning Volume.
QUICK TIP
FCA is designed to detect and monitor a vehicle ahead or detect a pedestrian in the roadway through front view camera recognition and front radar signals to warn the driver that a collision is imminent and, if necessary, temporarily apply emergency braking. Initially, FCA provides Forward Collision Warning (FCW) when it detects a potential collision with a vehicle, pedestrian, or cyclist, emitting an audible warning and visual alert on the instrument cluster A.
If the system detects that the collision risk has increased, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) automatically applies the brakes to reduce your speed B, potentially helping to reduce the effects of a possible collision.
On select Kia models, when the driver responds to a potential collision with the Steering Wheel, Evasive Driver Steering Assist C will automatically assist to help prevent the collision. If the driver does not respond, then Evasive Driver Steering Assist may automatically turn the Steering Wheel to avoid the collision.
With the turn signal on, if it detects a potential collision, Junction Turning D may help to avoid the collision with an oncoming vehicle in an adjacent lane when turning left by applying emergency braking.
If it detects a potential collision, Junction Crossing E may help to avoid the collision with oncoming vehicles coming from the left or right side, when crossing an intersection, by applying emergency braking.
If it detects a potential collision, Lane-Change Oncoming F may help to avoid the collision with an oncoming vehicle coming when changing lanes by assisting the driver ’s steering.
If it detects a potential collision, Lane-Change Side G may help to avoid the collision with vehicles ahead when changing lanes by assisting the driver ’s steering.

REMINDER: Once the risk factors are not detected, these functions will deactivate, and the driver must steer the vehicle.

Highway Driving Assist (HDA) with Lane Change Assist Video
QR CODE
REMINDERS:
•
Current highway speeds and controlled or limited access road information may var y. Future navigation updates may change this information
•
If the driver changes the speed while in automatic speed set ting mode, it deactivates and enters a manual mode
•
When vehicle power is cycled, the system returns to its previous state, on or off
Highway Driving Assist (HDA)*†4
Highway Driving Assist (HDA) is designed to adjust the speed of the vehicle when driving on limited/controlled access highways/freeways. The system can adjust the vehicle’s speed based on available highway speed information. The automatic speed setting mode is designed to set the speed automatically by adjusting to the current speed limits of the highway the vehicle is traveling on.
If equipped, Highway Lane Change Assist may assist in changing lanes, if it detects the driver has turned on the lane change signal and if the lane change is possible.
When HDA is activated and the conditions are met, the Instrument Cluster indicator A will illuminate green. If proper conditions are not met, HDA will be in standby mode and the HDA indicator light B will illuminate gray. When in operation, and if both lanes are recognized, the Instrument Cluster will show the lanes illuminated white and the HDA indicator illuminated
green A.
If HDA is activated, conditions are met and the SCC speed is set by the driver (at the posted highway speed limit or slower), HDA will enter the automatic speed setting mode. The set speed and AUTO will be displayed B in green and an audible alert will sound.
HDA will operate only when these conditions are met:
•
The vehicle is traveling slower than 110 mph or the highway speed limit
•
When driving on limited/controlled access highways/freeways
•
When Smart Cruise Control (SCC) and Lane Following Asisst (LFA) are on and operating
•
When the SCC speed is set to the current posted highway speed or slower
HDA User Settings:
To enable HDA , Smart Cruise Control (SCC) and Lane Following Assist (LFA) must be on. Press the SETUP key/button on the Infotainment System, VEHICLE, DRIVER ASSISTANCE, DRIVER CONVENIENCE, then HIGHWAY DRIVING ASSIST.
When engaged, Highway Driving Assist is not a substitute for safe driving, may not detect all objects around the vehicle, and only functions on cer tain federal highways. Always drive safely and use caution.
See section 6 in the Owner ’s Manual for more detailed information, limitations and conditions.
