light
Principle
In
tight
curves,
for
instance
on
mountainous
roads
or
when
turning,
an
additional,
cornering light
is
switched
on
that
lights
up
the
inside
of
the
curve
when
the
vehicle
is
moving
below
a
certain
speed.
General
information The
cornering
light
is
automatically
switched
ondepending
on
the
steering
angle
or,
where
appli#jcable,
the
use
of
turn
signals.
When
driving
in
reverse,
the
cornering
lights
may
be
automatically
switched
on
regardless
of
the steering
angle.
Adaptive
headlight
rangecontrol
The
adaptive
headlight
range
control
feature
bal#jances
out
acceleration
and
braking
processes
as
well
as
the
vehicle
load
conditions
in
order
to avoid
blinding
oncoming
traffic.
Automatic
High
Beam Assistant
Principle
The
Automatic
High
Beam
Assistant
detects
other
road
users
early
on
and
automatically
switches
the
high
beams
on
or
off
depending
on
the
traffic
situation.
General
informationThe
Automatic
High
Beam
Assistant
ensuresthat
the
high
beams
are
switched
on,
wheneverthe
traffic
situation
allows.
In
the
low
speed
range,
the
high
beams
are
not
switched
on
by
the
system.
The
system
responds
to
light
from
oncoming traffic
and
traffic
driving
ahead
of
you,
and
to
am#j bient
lighting,
for
instance
in
towns
and
cities.
The
high
beams
can
be
switched
on
and
off
manually
at
any
time.
Activate

Assistant
Switch

the

The
indicator
light

when
the
low
beams
are
switched

headlights

The
power

triggers

this
function
over
the
long
term,
calibrate
the
front
seats
as
soon
as
a
respective
message
appears
on
the
Control Display.
Calibrating
the
front
seats
Warning
There
is
a
risk
of
jamming
when
moving
the seats.
There
is
a
risk
of
injury
or
risk
of
damage
to
property.
Make
sure
that
the
area
of
move#j ment
of
the
seat
is
clear
prior
to
any
adjust#jment.
A
corresponding
message
appears
on
the

trol

move

seat

way
forward,

it

The
system
reads
if
the
front
passenger
seat
is occupied
by
measuring

human
body's

side
airbag

the
front

side
are
activated
or
deactivated.
General

transporting
a
child
on
the
front
passen#j
ger
seat,
refer

safety
information
and

structions

front
passenger

Safety

Warning
To
ensure
the
front
passenger
airbag
function, the
system
must
be
able
to
detect
whether
a person
is
sitting
in
the
front
passenger
seat.The
entire
seat
cushion
area
must
be
used
forthis
purpose.
There
is
a
risk
of
injury
or
dangerto
life.
Make
sure
that
the
front
passenger
keeps
his
or
her
feet
in
the
floor
area.
Fault
of
the
automatic
deactivation
system
When
transporting
older
children
and
adults,

front

deactivated
