Light
Control
General
informationDepending
on
the
steering
angle
and
other

the
light
from

headlight
follows

the
road.
To
avoid
blinding
oncoming
traffic,
the
Adaptive Light
Control
does
not
swivel
to
the
opposite
lane
when
the
vehicle
is
at
a
standstill.
Cornering
light
Principle
In
tight
curves,
for
instance
on
mountainous roads
or
when
turning,
an
additional,
cornering
light
is
switched
on
that
lights
up
the
inside
of
the
curve
when
the
vehicle
is
moving
below
a
certain
speed.
General
information The
cornering
light
is
automatically
switched
ondepending
on
the
steering
angle
or,
where
appli#jcable,
the
use
of
turn
signals.
When
driving
in
reverse,
the
cornering
lights
may be
automatically
switched
on
regardless
of
the
steering
angle.
Adaptive
headlight
range control
The
adaptive
headlight
range
control
feature
bal#j
ances
out
acceleration
and
braking
processes
as
well
as
the
vehicle
load
conditions
in
order
to avoid
blinding
oncoming
traffic.
Automatic
High
Beam Assistant
Principle
The
Automatic
High
Beam
Assistant
detects
other
road
users
early
on
and
automatically
switches
the
high
beams
on
or
off
depending
on
the
traffic
situation.
General
informationThe
Automatic
High
Beam
Assistant
ensures
that
the
high
beams
are
switched
on,
whenever the
traffic
situation
allows.
In
the
low
speed
range,
the
high
beams
are
not
switched
on
by
the
system.
The
system
responds
to
light
from
oncoming traffic
and
traffic
driving
ahead
of
you,
and
to
am#j bient
lighting,
for
instance
in
towns
and
cities.
The
high
beams
can
be
switched
on
and
off
manually
at
any
time.

high
beams
in
the
headlight
are
automatically
switched
on
in

beams.

be
obtained
from
the
laser
label
onthe
headlight.

visible

malfunction

triggering

General
information
The
power
that
triggers
the
driver's/front
passen#j
ger
airbags
depends
on
the
position
of
the
driv#j er's/front
passenger
seat.
To
maintain
the
accuracy
of
this
function
over
the
long
term,
calibrate
the
front
seats
as
soon
as a
respective
message
appears
on
the
ControlDisplay.
Calibrating
the
front
seats
Warning
There
is
a
risk
of
jamming
when
moving
the seats.
There
is
a
risk
of
injury
or
risk
of
damage
to
property.
Make
sure
that
the
area
of
move#j ment
of
the
seat
is
clear
prior
to
any
adjust#jment.
A
corresponding
message
appears
on
the
Con#j
trol
Display.
1.Press
the
switch
and
move
the
respective
seat
all
the
way
forward,
until
it
stops.2.Press
the
switch
forward
again.
The
seat
still
moves
forward
slightly.3.Readjust
the
seat
to
the
desired

The
calibration
procedure

completed
when
the message
on
the

Display
disappears.
If
the
message
continues
