Locking/Unlocking the Doors from the Outside
When you carry the keyless remote, you can
lock/unlock the doors, fuel fill door and open
the trunk.
You can lock/unlock the doors, fuel fill door
and trunk within a radius of about 32 inches
(80 cm) of the outside door handle or trunk
release button.
■Using the Keyless Access System1Locking/Unlocking the Doors from the Outside
If the interior light switch is in the door activated
position, the interior light comes on when you unlock
the doors.
No doors opened: The li ght fades out after 30
seconds.
Doors relocked: The light goes off immediately.

1Using the Keyless Access System
If you do not open a door within 30 seconds of
unlocking the vehicle with the keyless access system,
the doors, fuel fill door a nd trunk will automatically

You can lock or unlock doors, fuel fill door and trunk
using the keyless access system only when the power
mode is in VEHICLE OFF.
The keyless access system will not lock the vehicle
when a door is open.

Even if the trunk is locked, you can open the
trunk if you carry the keyless remote.
u Some exterior lights flash twice and the
beeper sounds.
Using the Remote Transmitter
Press and hold the trunk release button for
approximately one second to unlock and open
the trunk.
1Using the Trunk Release Button
•If you forget the remote inside the trunk, the
beeper will sound and th e trunk will not close.
•A person who is not carryi ng the keyless remote
can unlock the trunk if a pe rson who is carrying it is
within range or if all doors are unlocked.
•If the beeper sounds after you close the trunk,
move the keyless remote away from the trunk and
close again.
•The keyless remote may not operate if it is too close
to the trunk.
When the vehicle is used in cold weather, the trunk
release button could freeze up and using it may not
be possible.
In this case, the trunk may be opened using the
interior trunk opener or tr unk release button on the
remote transmitter.

If the driver’s door is locked, the trunk will
automatically lock when yo u close it. Otherwise, you
will have to lock it manually.
•You can lock or unlock th e trunk using the remote
transmitter only when the power mode is in
VEHICLE OFF.

Interior Rearview Mirror
Adjust the angle of the rearview mirror when you are sitting in the correct driving
position.
When you are driving after dark, the
automatic dimming rearview mirror and
power door mirrors reduce the glare from
headlights behind you. Press the button to
turn this function on and off. When activated,
the indicator comes on.

Interior Lights
■ON
The interior lights come on regardless of
whether the doors are open or closed.
■Door activated
The interior lights come on in the following
situations:
• When any doors are opened.
• You unlock the driver’s door.
• When the power mode is set to VEHICLE
OFF (LOCK).
■OFF
The interior lights remain off regardless of
whether the doors are open or closed.

In the door activated position, the interior lights fade
out and go off about 30 seconds after the doors are
closed.
The lights go off after about 30 seconds in the
following situations:
•When you unlock the driver’s door but do not open
it.
•When you set the power mode to VEHICLE OFF
(LOCK) but do not open a door.
You can change the interi or lights dimming time.

The interior lights go off im mediately in the following
situations:
•When you lock the driver’s door.•When you close the driver’s door in ACCESSORY
mode.
•When you set the power mode to ON.
To avoid draining the ba ttery, do not leave the
interior light on for an extended length of time when
the engine is off.
If you leave any of the doors open in VEHICLE OFF
(LOCK) mode, the interior lights go off after about 15
minutes.

The map lights can be turned on and off by
pressing the (map light) button.
■Rear
The map lights can be turned on and off by
pressing the (map light) button when the
front interior light sw itch is in the door
activated position.

The glove box light comes on when the parking lights
are on.

An open glove box can cause serious injury
to your passenger in a crash, even if the
passenger is wearing the seat belt.
Always keep the glove box closed while
