always carry the electronic key on
your person.
●If the power sliding door does not
fully close due to the operation of
the jam protection function, etc.,
while the sliding door is automati-

●Check the safety of the sur-
rounding area to make sure
there are no obstacles or any-
thing that could cause any of
your belongings to get caught.
●If anyone is in the vicinity, make
sure they are safe and let them
know that the sliding door is
about to open or close. Also, do
not operate the power sliding

unexpectedly.
●If the operating conditions of the
power sliding door are no longer
met, a buzzer may sound and
the sliding door may stop open-
ing or closing. Th e sliding door
then has to be operated manu-

an incline, as the sliding door
may open or close abruptly.
●On an incline, a sliding door
may close by itself after it opens
automatically. Make sure the
sliding door is fully open and
secure.
●In the following si tuations, the
power sliding door may detect
an abnormality and automatic
operation may be stopped. In
this case, the sliding door has to
be operated manually. Take
extra care when on an incline,
as the sliding door may open or
close abruptly.

other than genuine Toyota parts
to the power slid ing door. The
power sliding door may not
operate, causing itself to mal-

door may close again after it is
opened.
●When the sliding door child-pro-

■To operate the system properly
Make sure to carry the electronic
key when operating the system. Do
not get the electronic key too close
to the vehicle when operating the
system from the ou tside of the vehi-
cle.
Depending on the position and hold-
ing condition of the electronic key,
the key may not be detected cor-
rectly and the system may not oper-
ate properly. (The alarm may go off
accidentally, or the door lock pre-
vention may not operate.)
■If the smart key system does
not operate properly
●If the doors cannot be locked or
unlocked, perform the following.
• Bring the electronic key close to
the door handle and perform a
lock or unlock operation.
• Use the wireless remote control.
If the doors cannot be locked or
unlocked by perform the above, use
the mechanical key. ( P.504)
However, if the mechanical key is
used while the alarm system is set,
the warning will sound. ( P.83)
●If the hybrid system cannot be
started, refer to P.505

WARNING
■Caution regarding interfer-
ence with electronic devices
●People with implantable car-
diac pacemakers, cardiac
resynchronization therapy-
pacemakers or implantable car-
dioverter defibrillators should
maintain a reasonable distance
between themselves and the
smart key system antennas.
( P.164)
The radio waves may affect the
operation of such devices. If
necessary, the e ntry function
can be disabled. Ask your
Toyota dealer for details, such
as the frequency of radio waves
and timing of the emitted radio
waves. Then, consult your doc-
tor to see if you should disable
the entry function.
●Users of any electrical medical
device other than implantable
cardiac pacemakers, cardiac
resynchronization therapy-
pacemakers or implantable car-
dioverter defibrillators should
consult the manufacturer of the
device for information about its
operation under the influence of
radio waves.
Radio waves could have unex-
pected effects on the operation
of such medical devices.
Ask your Toyota dealer for details
on disabling the entry function.
