there straint system works depends on the
se verity of the impact de tected and the apparent
type of accident:
R Frontal impact
R Rear impact
R Side impact
R Rollover
The activation thre sholds forth e components of
th ere straint system are de term ined based on the
ev aluation of the sensor values measured at vari-
ous points in theve hicle. This process is pre-e mp-
tive in nature. The triggering/deployment of the
components of there straint system must take
place in good time at the start of the collision.
Fa ctors which can only be seen and measured
aTer a collision has occur red cannot play a deci- sive
role in airbag deployment. Nor do they pro-
vide an indication of airbag deployment.
The vehicle may be deformed signi/cantly without
an airbag being deplo yed. This is the case if only
parts which are relatively easily deformed are
a.ec tedand thera te of vehicle deceleration is
not high. Con versely, an airbag may be depl oyed
ev en though theve hicle su.ers only minor defor-
mation. If very rigid vehicle parts such as longitu-
dinal membe rsare hit, this may result in su1-
ciently high le vels of vehicle deceleration.
Depending on the de tected deployment situation,
th e components of there straint system can be
acti vated or deplo yed independently of each
ot her:
R Seat belt tensioner: frontal impact, rear
impact, side impact, rollo ver
R Driver's airbag, front passenger airbag: frontal

dent, and depending on theve hicle's equipment,

Depending on the accident situation, the post-col-
lision brake can minimise the se verity of a fur ther
collision or evenavo id it.
If an accident is de tected, the post-collision brake
can implement automatic braking. When theve hi-
cle has come toa standstill, the electric parking
brake is automatically applied.
The driver can cancel automatic braking bytaking

The refrigerator box can bear a maximum load of
3.5 kg. St
ore only plastic bottles in the upper compart-
ment of there frigerator box. The contents of the
bottle must be no more than 0.5 lit res.
If yo u do not need touse there frigerator box for
an extended period, switch it o., defrost it and
clean it. ATer doing so, lea vethe lid open for a
time.
More condensation may occur during intensive
use. Cleaning may be requ ired.
The refrigerator box will reduce its cooling capa-
city or switch o. in thefo llowing cases:
R Too many electrical consumers are turned on.
R The star ter battery is not su1ciently charge d.
If th is is the case, the indicator lamps will 0ash on
