2021 MAZDA MODEL CX-5 fuel type

Fuel grade labels are visible on fuel-filler lid, therefore, verify the fuel grade before
refueling. If the fuel grade cannot be verified, ask the gas station attendant.
CAUTION
Never use fuel other than specification Ultra-Low Sulfur Diesel (ULSD, 15 ppm sulfur or less)
fuel that meets the ASTM D975 standard or the equivalent for your vehicle. Use of gasoline
or kerosene in diesel engines will resu lt in fuel system and engine damage.
 Never use diesel fuel with concentrations of methyl ester bio-diesel higher than 5 % (B5),
such as B20 or B100.
 Never add fuel system additives other than a Mazda genuine product, otherwise the
emission control system could be damaged. Consult an Authorized Mazda Dealer for
details.
 If any type of incorrect fuel is accidently pu mped into the fuel tank, do not turn on the
engine and drive the vehicle. Consult an Authorized Mazda Dealer for assistance.
Turning on the engine or driving the vehicle with the incorrect fuel could cause damage to
the fuel pump and fuel injectors.
 Do not mistake the refueling port for the DEF filler port. If fuel was added to the DEF filler
port by mistake, do not turn on the engine and drive the vehicle. Consult an Authorized
Mazda Dealer for assistance.
Turning on the engine or driving the vehicle with fuel in the DEF filler port could cause
damage to the emission control system.

When refueling, always add at least 10 L (2.6 US gal, 2.2 Imp gal) of fuel.

The odometer records the total distance
the vehicle has been driven.
Trip meter
The driving distance for a specified
interval is indicated. Two types (TRIP A,
TRIP B) of interval distance and the
average fuel economy for each can be
measured.

For instance, trip meter A can record the
distance from the point of origin, and trip
meter B can record the distance from
where the fuel tank is filled.

When trip meter A is
selected, TRIP A
will be displayed. When trip meter B is
selected, TRIP B will be displayed.

The trip meter and average fuel economy
can be reset by pressing the INFO switch
for 1.5 seconds or more while in each
mode.
NOTE
Only the trip meters record tenths of
kilometers (miles).
The trip record will be erased when:
The power supply is interrupted
(blown fuse or the battery is
disconnected).
The vehicle is driven over 9999.9 km
(mile).
▼ Engine Coolant Temperature Gauge
Displays the engine coolant temperature.
The blue range of the gauge indicates that
the engine coolant temperature is low, and
the red range of the gauge indicates that
the engine coolant temperature is high and
overheating.

This displays the cu
rrent fuel economy by
calculating the amount of fuel
consumption and the distance traveled.

NOTE
Indicates the 0 position when the vehicle
speed is about 5 km/h (3 mph) or slower.
The red arrow on the scale indicates the
average fuel economy.
▼ Maintenance Monitor (Except

The following maintenance period
notifications can be displayed by turning
the Maintenance Monitor on.

When the remaining days to the
maintenance period is 15 days or less, or
the remaining distance is 1,000 km (600
miles) or shorter, a message is indicated
when the ignition is switched ON.

▼ Remaining Diesel Exhaust Fluid
(DEF) and Maximum Driving
Distance Display (SKYACTIV-D
2.2)
The remaining amount of DEF and the
remaining-distance-to-empty indications
are displayed when the ignition is
switched ON.

If the remaining amount of DEF is low or
there is a problem with the Selective
Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system and
there is less maximum remaining driving
distance, the remaining-distance-to-empty
indication is continuously displayed.

If the remaining amount of DEF is low or
there is a problem with the SCR system,
the SCR warning light turns on/flashes and
a warning message is displayed.

NOTE
The wrench indication may display
earlier than the preset period depending
on vehicle usage conditions.
Whenever the engine oil is replaced, a
reset of the vehicle engine control unit is
necessary.

▼ Glow Indicator Light
(SKYACTIV-D 2.2)
When the ignition is
switched ON, the
glow indicator light turns on. The glow
indicator light turns off when preheating is
finished.

The maintenance period for the glow plug
or a problem in the system may be
indicated under the following conditions.
Have your vehicle inspected by an
Authorized Mazda Dealer.
The glow indicator light does not turn
on when the ignition is switched ON or
it remains on.
The glow indicator light is flashing.
