Controls
When the power mode is set to any mode
other than OFF and you remove the smart
entry remote from the vehicle and shut the
door, an alarm will sound. If the alarm
continues to sound, place the smart entry
remote in another location.
■When the power mode is in ACCESSORY
The alarm will sound from outside the vehicle.
■When the power mode is in ON
An alarm will sound both inside and outside the
vehicle. In addition, a warning indicator will
appear on the instrument panel.
■Smart Entry Remote Reminder1 Smart Entry Remote Reminder
When the smart entry remote is within the system’s
operational range, and all the doors are closed, the
warning function cancels.
If the smart entry remote is taken out of the vehicle
after the power system has been started, you can no
longer change the POWER button mode or restart
the power system. Always make sure if the remote is
in your vehicle when you operate the POWER
button.
Removing the smart entry remote from the vehicle
through a window does not activate the warning
buzzer.
Do not put the smart entr y remote on the dashboard
or in the glove box. It may cause the warning buzzer
to go off. Under some other conditions that can
prevent the vehicle from locating the remote, the
warning buzzer may al so go off even if the remote is
within the system’s operational range.

uuOperating the Switches Around the Steering Wheel uAuto High-Beam
Controls
Auto High-Beam
The front sensor camera detects the light sources ahead of the vehicle such as the
lights of a preceding or oncoming vehicle, or street lights. When you are driving at
night, the system automatically switches the headlights between low beam and high
beam depending on the situation.
When all of the following conditions have been met, the auto high-beam indicator
comes on and the auto high-beam is activated. •The power mode is in ON.
• The light switch is in AUTO.
• The lever is in the low beam position.
• The headlights have been automatically
activated.
• It is dark outside the vehicle.
If the auto high-beam indicator does not co me on even when all the conditions have
been met, carry out the following procedure and the indicator will come on.
• Pull the lever toward you for flashing the high beams then release it while driving.1Auto High-Beam
The auto high-beam system does not always operate
in every situation. This syst em is just for assisting the
driver. Always observe your surroundings and switch
the headlights between high beam and low beam
manually if necessary.
If you find the timing of beam changes inconvenient
for driving, change the headlight beams manually.
The range and the distance at which the camera can
recognize varies de pending on conditions
surrounding your vehicle.
Regarding the handling of the camera mounted to
the inside of the windshiel d, refer to the following.
2 Front Sensor Camera P. 546
For the auto high-beam to work properly:
•Do not place an object that reflects light on the
dashboard.
•Keep the windshield around the camera clean.
•When cleaning the windshield, be careful not to
apply the windshield cleans er to the camera lens.
•Do not attach an object, sticker or film to the area
around the camera.
•Do not touch the camera lens.
If the camera receives a st rong impact, or repairing of
the area near the camera is required, consult a dealer.

Features
Voice Control Operation
Your vehicle has a voice control syst em that allows hands-free operation.
The voice control system uses the (Talk) and (hang-up/back) buttons on
the steering wheel and a microphone near the map lights on the ceiling.
To achieve optimum voice recognition when using the voice control system:
• Make sure the correct screen is displa yed for the voice command that you are
using.
The system recognizes only certain commands.
Available voice commands.
2 Voice Portal Screen P. 296
•Close the windows and moonroof.
• Adjust the dashboard and side vents so air does not blow onto the microphone
on the ceiling.
• Speak clearly in a natural speaking vo ice without pausing between words.
• Reduce any background noise if possible. The system may misinterpret your
command if more than one person is speaking at the same time.
■Voice Recognition
1Voice Control Operation
When you press the button, a helpful prompt asks
what you would like to do. Press and release the
button again to bypass this prompt and give a
command.
1 Voice Recognition
The voice control system can only be used from the
driver’s seat because the microphone unit removes
noises from the front passenger’s side.
