Settings for Red Key *
The holder of a regular remote key can adjust settings for a Red Key. Certain driver supportfunctions are always active, however.
To change this setting:
1. Unlock the vehicle using a regular remote key.
2. Tap

Set Time Gap For Adaptive Cruise Control
Set the time gap (1 is the shortest and 5 is the longest gap).
The default setting is
5.0.
Reduced Maximum Volume
Lower maximum volume for media sources.
The function is "On" by default.
Max Speed Limit
Set a maximum speed for this key.
By default, the function is "On" and the speed is 120 km/h (75 mph). Setting interval: 50-250 km/h (30-160 mph)
Increments: 1 km/h (1 mph)
Speed limit symbol.
Speed Limit Warning
Warns when vehicle moves above set values.
By default, the function is "On" and the values are 50, 70 and 90 km/h (30, 45 and 55 mph). Setting interval: 0-250 km/h (0-160 mph)
Increments: 1 km/h (1 mph)
Maximum number of simultaneous reminders: 6

Keyless unlocking–To unlock, grasp a door handle or lightly press the rubberized button on the under-side of the tailgate handle.
> The lock indicator light on the dash-
board will stop flashing to confirm that the vehicle is unlocked.
The rubberized button on the tailgate can only be used for unlocking.
Automatic relockingIf none of the doors or tailgate are opened within two minutes after being unlocked, theywill automatically relock. This function reducesthe risk of inadvertently leaving the vehicleunlocked.

WARNING
Individuals with an implanted pacemaker should not allow the pacemaker to comecloser than 22 cm (9 in.) to the Keylesssystem antennas. The aim of this is to pre-vent disturbances between the pacemakerand the Keyless system.

Private Locking The tailgate and the glove compartment can be locked using the private locking functionto prevent them from being opened, e.g.when the vehicle is left at a workshop or witha valet.
The function button for pri- vate locking is located in thecenter display's Functionview. Depending on the cur-rent status of the lock,

Private locking is activated using the function button in the center display and a PIN code.
NOTE
For the valet lock function to be activated the car must be in at least ignition mode I.
Two codes are used for private locking:
A security code, which is created the first time the function is used.
A PIN code, which is changed each timethe function is activated.
Entering security code before initial
use
The first time the function is used, a securitycode must be selected. This code can then beused to deactivate private locking if theselected PIN code has been forgotten or lost.The security code functions as a PUK (secur-ity) code for all PIN codes used for privatelocking. Save the security code in a safe place.

The alarm is armed when the vehicle is locked.

Disarming the alarm without a functioning
remote key
The vehicle can be unlocked and disarmed even if the remote key is not functioning, e.g. ifthe battery is discharged.
1. Open the driver's door using the detacha- ble key blade.
> This will trigger the alarm.

2. Place the remote key on the key symbol inthe backup reader in the tunnel console's cup holder. 3. Turn the start knob clockwise and release.
> The alarm will be disarmed.
Turning off a triggered alarm–Press the unlock button on the remote key or put the ignition into mode I by turning
the start knob clockwise and then releas-ing it.
Automatically arming and disarming the alarm
Automatically arming the alarm helps prevent inadvertently leaving the vehicle without alarmprotection. If the vehicle is unlocked using the remote key (and the alarm is disarmed) but none of thedoors or tailgate are opened within twominutes, the alarm will be automaticallyrearmed. The vehicle will also re-lock. On some markets, the alarm will be automati- cally armed following a slight delay after thedriver's door has been opened and closedwithout being locked. Driver support systems
The vehicle is equipped with a number of driver support systems that can provide thedriver with active or passive assistance in var-ious situations.
The systems can, for example, help the driver:
maintain a set speed
maintain a set time interval to the vehicle ahead
help prevent a collision by warning thedriver and applying the brakes
park the vehicle.
Some of the systems are standard and othersare options. This also varies from market tomarket.

Speed-dependent steering wheel resistance Speed-dependent power steering increases the steering wheel resistance in pace withthe vehicle's speed, which can help give thedriver an enhanced feeling of control and sta-bility.
Steering is stiffer on highways. When parking and at low speeds, it will be easier to movethe steering wheel.
NOTE
In rare situations, the power steering may become too hot andrequire temporary cooling – dur-ing such time the power steering
will work at reduced output and the steer-ing wheel may feel more difficult to move. The message
Power steering Assistance
temporarily reduced will be displayed
along with this symbol in the instrument panel.
While the power steering is working at reduced power, the driver support func-tions and systems with steering assistanceare not available.

Electronic Stability Control
The Electronic Stability Control (ESC 1
) func-
tion helps the driver avoid skidding and improves the vehicle's directional stability.
This symbol will be displayed in the instrument panel whenthe system is intervening. When the system has inter- vened to apply the brakes, apulsing sound may be heard
and the vehicle may accelerate more slowlythan expected when the accelerator pedal isdepressed.
The system consists of the following sub-func- tions:
Stability control 2
Spin control and active yaw control
Engine drag control
Trailer Stability Assist
WARNING
The function is supplementary driver support intended to facilitate drivingand help make it safer – it cannot han-dle all situations in all traffic, weatherand road conditions.
The driver is advised to read all sec-tions in the Owner's Manual about thisfunction to learn of its limitations,which the driver must be aware ofbefore using the function.
Driver support functions are not a sub-stitute for the driver's attention andjudgment. The driver is always respon-sible for ensuring the vehicle is drivenin a safe manner, at the appropriatespeed, with an appropriate distance toother vehicles, and in accordance withcurrent traffic rules and regulations.
Stability control 2This function helps control the driving andbraking force of each individual wheel in anattempt to stabilize the vehicle.
Spin control and active yaw controlThis function is active at low speeds andbrakes the wheels that are spinning to transfer

The stability system (ESC 8
) is always acti-
vated and cannot be switched off. However, the driver can select Sport mode, whichoffers more active driving characteristics.
Activate or deactivate the function using this button inthe center display's Functionview.
GREEN button indicator light – the func- tion is activated.
GRAY button indicator light – the functionis deactivated.
When
ESC Sport Mode is acti-
vated, this symbol will illuminate with a steady glow in the instrumentpanel. It will remain on until the
driver deactivates the function or until theengine is turned off. The system will return tonormal mode the next time the engine isstarted.
The ESC Sport Mode function cannot be
selected when any of the following functions are activated:
