All-wheel drive vehicles: 15.8 gal (60 L) Front-wheel drive vehi
cles: 16.6 gal (63 L)
1. Before filling with fuel, stop the engine. 2. The fuel tank filler is located on the rear driver side of your vehicle. The fuel tank filler door can be openedfrom inside the vehicle with the fuel tank filler door release lever located at the left side of the driver’s seat.
3. Open the fuel tank filler pipe by slowly turning the fuel tank filler cap counter-clockwise.
Before removing the fuel tank filler cap, be sure to get rid of your body’s staticelectricity by touching a metal part of thecar or fuel pump. Any
static electricity on
your body could create a spark that ignites fuel vapor. Perform the whole
refueling process
(opening the fuel tank filler door, remov-ing the fuel cap, etc.) by yourself; do not let any other
person near the fuel tank
filler. If you allowed
a person to help you
and that person was ca
rrying static elec-
tricity, fuel vapor could be ignited. Do not move away from
the fuel tank filler
until refueling is fi
nished. If you moved
away and did somethin
g else (for example,
sitting on a seat) part-way through the refueling process, you could pick up a fresh charge of st
atic electricity.
Be careful not to inhale fuel vapor. Fuel contains toxic substances. Keep the doors and wi
ndows closed while
refueling the vehicle. If they were open, fuel vapor could ge
t into the cabin.

any pressure or vac-
uum that might have built up in the fuel tank. If the cap is venting vapor or if youhear a hissing sound, wait until the sound stops before removing the cap. Otherwise, fuel may spray out, in
juring you or others.

4. Fueling correctly depends mainly on cor- rect handling of the fuel filler nozzle. Donot tilt the nozzle. Insert the nozzle in the fuel tank filler port as far as it goes.
5. When the nozzle stops automatically, do not add more fuel. 6. To re-install, turn the fuel tank filler pipe cap slowly clockwise until you hear click- ing sounds, then gently push the fuel tankfiller door closed.

NOTE
While filling with fuel, hang the fuel cap on the hook (A) located on the inside surface ofthe fuel tank filler door.CAUTION Your vehicle can only be operated using unleaded gasoline. Seri
ous engine and cata-
lytic converter damage will result if leaded gasoline is filled into these vehicles, andconsequently, this must
 never be attempted.
CAUTIONTo avoid fuel spillage and overfilling, do not “top-off” the fuel tank.
 Spilled fuel could
discolor, stain, or crack the vehicle’s paint-work. If fuel spills on the paintwork, wipe it off with a soft cloth.WA R N I N G Make sure the fuel tank filler cap is securely closed. If the fuel cap were loose, fuel could leak, re
sulting in a fire.
CAUTIONIf you need to replace th
e fuel tank filler cap,
use only the cap specified for your modelvehicle.
NOTE
 If the fuel tank filler
cap is not tight while
driving, the engine malfunction indicator(“SERVICE ENGINE SOON” or “Checkengine light”) may come on when the onboard diagnostic (OBD) system performs a self check.Always tighten the fuel
 tank filler cap until
you hear at least 3 clicks. The indicator will go of
f after several driving
cycles. If the indicato
r does not go off, con-
tact your authorized Mitsubishi Motors dealer or a repair fac
ility of your choice as
soon as possible.

N00520501814
This indicator is a part
 of the onboard diag-
nostic (OBD) system which monitors the emissions, engine control system or auto- matic transaxle cont
rol system/continuously
variable transmission
(CVT) control system.
If a problem is detected in one of these sys- tems, this indicator illuminates or flashes. When the ignition switch is turned to the “ON” position or the operation mode is put in ON, this indicator
normally comes on and
goes off after the engine has started.
This indicator will come on if the fuel tank filler cap is not properly tightened. If thisindicator comes on and stays on after refuel- ing, stop the engine and check that the cap is properly tightened. (Turn the cap clockwiseuntil you hear clicking sounds.) If this indicator does not go off after several seconds or lights up whil
e driving, have the
system checked as s
oon as possible at an
authorized Mitsubishi Motors dealer or a repair facility of your choice.

CAUTION When the warning light remains on or does not come on, there is the possibility that theparking brake cannot be operated orreleased. Immediately contact the nearest authorized Mitsubishi Motors dealer. When the warning light comes on during driving, immediately stop the vehi
cle in a safe place,
and contact an authorized Mitsubishi Motors dealer. If you inevitably have to park, parkthe vehicle on level and stable ground, shift the selector lever in
 “P” (PARK) position
and place chocks
 or blocks.
Engine malfunction indicator (“SERVICE ENGINE SOON” or “Check engine light”)
CAUTION Driving for a long time with the engine mal- function indicator on
may cause more dam-
age to the emission control system. This could also affect fuel economy and drivabil-ity. If this indicator does not come on when the ignition switch is turned to the “ON” posi- tion or the operation mode
 is put in ON, have
the system checked at
an authorized Mitsubi-
shi Motors dealer or a
repair facility of your
choice.
If the engine malfunction indicator comes on while the engine is running, avoid driving athigh speeds.During vehicle
operation with the indicator
on, the vehicle may not
 accelerate when you
depress the accelerator pedal. When the vehicle is stat
ionary with the indi-
cator on, you must depr
ess the brake pedal
more firmly than usual since the engineidling speed is higher th
an usual and a vehi-
cle with an automatic transaxle or CVT has a stronger tendency to creep forward.NOTE
Do not disconnect the battery cable when the engine malfunction i
ndicator (“SERVICE
ENGINE SOON” or “Che
ck engine light”) is
on. The engine electronic control module storescritical OBD information (especially exhaust emission data), which may be lost if the bat- tery cable is disconnected while the enginemalfunction indicator is
on. This will make it
difficult to diagnose the cause of future prob- lems.

m or spray coming
from under the hood, leave the engine onuntil the high coolant temperature warn- ing goes off. After the high coolant tem- perature warning has gone off, you canstart driving again. If the high coolant temperature warning stays on, turn off the engine. 6. When you do not see any more steam or spray, open the hood. Look for obviousleaks, such as a split radiator hose. Be careful as components will be hot. Any leak source must be repaired.7. If there is no obvious leak source, check the coolant level in the engine coolant reserve tank. If there is
none, or if it is too
low, slowly add coolant. 8. If the engine coolant reserve tank needs coolant, you will probably also need toadd coolant to the radiator. Do not loosen or remove the radiator cap until the engine has cooled down.
9. Start the engine, a
nd slowly add coolant,
up to the bottom of the filler neck. Use plain water if you have to (and replace itwith the right coolant as soon as possible).
10. Replace the radiator cap and tighten it
fully. Check the engine coolant tempera-ture display on the mu

1. Park the vehicle on a safe, flat and level place. 2. Set the parking brake firmly.3. Move the selector
 lever to the “P”
(PARK) position, and stop the engine. 4. Turn on the hazard warning lights and setup a warning sign, such as a warning tri- angle or flashing signal lamp, at an ade- quate distance from the vehicle, and haveall your passengers leave the vehicle. 5. Take out the tire repair kit. Make sure that the compressor switch isOFF.
6. Shake the tire sealant bottle well. 7. Take the valve cap (D) off the tire valve (E).
8. Unwind the bottle hose (F) from around the sealant bottle. 9. Pull out the compressor’s hose (G) from the bottom of the compressor and securely attach it to the valve (H) of the bottle byturning it clockwise until tight.
Immediately wash clothes contaminated with tire sealant. The tire sealant may not beremoved from the clothes.NOTE
Do not pull out an object, such as a nail or screw, that penetrat
es the punctured tire.
 Move the vehicle so th
at the tire valve is
positioned away from the point where thetire touches the ground. If the valve is near the point where the tire touches the ground, the sealant may not enter the tire easily. Check the tire sealant’
s expiration date regu-
larly, and be sure to
 purchase a new one from
an authorized Mitsubishi Motors dealer before the expiration date.CAUTION
NOTE
 In cold conditions (w
hen the ambient tem-
perature is 32 °F {0 °C} or lower), thicken- ing of the tire sealant can make the tiresealant hard to squeeze out of the bottle. Warm the bottle betw
een your hands inside
the vehicle.
