car wash, in particular the width of the
guide rails, is su1cient. To
avo id damage toyour vehicle when using a car

ing into the automatic car wash. Car wash mode
can be activated at a speed of up to20 km/h

The following settings are made when car wash
mode is activated:

Make sure there are no vibrations, noises or
unusual handling characteristics when theve hicle
is in motion. This may indicate that the wheels or
tyres are damaged. Hidden tyre damage could
also be causing the unusual handling characteris-
tics.

Insu1cient tyre tread will result in reduced
tyre grip.
The risk of aquaplaning is increased on wet
ro ads, especially when the speed of theve hi-
cle is not adap tedto suit the conditions. #
Thus, you should regula rly ch eck the
tread dep thand the condition of the
tread across the entire width of all tyres.
Minimum tread dep thfor:
R Summer ty res: 3 mm
R M+S tyres: 4 mm #
For saf etyre asons, replace the tyres
before the legall y-prescribed limit forthe
minimum tread dep thisreached. Car
ryout thefo llowing checks on all wheels regu-
lar ly, at least once a month or as required, for
ex ample, prior toa long jou rney or driving o.-
ro ad:
R Check the tyre pressure (/ page 380). R
Visually inspect wheels and tyres for damage.
R Check theva lve caps.
R Visual check of the tyre tread dep thand the
tyre contact sur face across the entire width.
The minimum tread dep thfor summer tyres is

dling characteristics, vehicle noise emissions,
consu mption, etc. could be adversely a.ec-
te d. Furthermore, other tyre sizes could result
in the tyres rubbing against the body and axle
components when loaded. This could result in
damage tothe tyre or theve hicle. Only use tyres, wheels and accessories
