The HomeLink® wireless control system in your vehicle has 3 buttons which can be pro-
grammed to operate 3 different devices. Refe r to the programming methods on the follow-
ing pages to determine the method wh ich is appropriate for the device.

■Before programming HomeLink®
● During programming, it is possible that gara ge doors, gates, or other devices may oper-
ate. For this reason, make su re that people and objects ar e clear of the garage door or
other devices to prevent inju ry or other potential harm.
● It is recommended that a new battery be pl aced in the remote control transmitter for
more accurate programming.
● Garage door opener motors manufactured after 1995 may be equipped with rolling
code protection. If this is the case, you may need a stepladder or other sturdy, safe device
to reach the “Learn” or “Smart” button on the garage door opener motor.
Garage Door Opener
The garage door opener can be programmed using the HomeLink® to operate garage
doors, gates, entry doors, door locks, home lighting systems, security systems, and other
devices.

■Door lock switches (to lock/unlock)1

■Inside lock buttons (to lock)
Push down the inside lock button to lock the
door.
■Inside door handles (to unlock)
For the front doors
Pull the handle to unlock and open the
door.
When the door is unlocked, the inside
lock button will pop up.
 For the rear doors
Pull the handle to unlock the door. Pull
the handle a second time to open the
door.
When the door is unlocked, the inside
lock button will pop up.
Door Locks
The vehicle can be locked and unlocked using the entry function, wireless remote control
or door lock switches.

Pull the driver’s door handle and insert
the mechanical key.
2Unlock the door.
3Remove the key, return the handle, and then pull the handle again.
■Locking the door

With the door open, push down the
inside lock button.

Turn the mechanical key clockwise to open.
1Ensure that the shift lever is in P and depress the brake pedal.
2Touch the Lexus emblem side of the
electronic key to the engine switch.
When the electronic key is detected, a
buzzer sounds and the engine switch
will turn to IGNITION ON mode.
When the smart access system with
pushbutton start is deactivated in cus-
tomization setting, the engine switch
will turn to ACCESSORY mode.
3Firmly depress the brake pedal and check that is shown on the multi-informa-
tion display.
4Press the engine switch shortly and firmly.
In the event that the engine still cannot be started, contact your Lexus dealer.
Opening the trunk
Starting the engine
If the electronic key battery becomes depleted, a warning message will be shown on the
multi-information display. Replace the battery wi th a new one. For instructions on replacing
the battery, refer to the “OWNER’S MANUAL”.
